The fall in Cleveland now belongs to the INDIANS! Tito Francona should be the manager of the year! WOW,WOW,WOW what a job this guy did with this team. The way he used this bullpen, the way he used defensive replacements and the way he gets this team to play for him. OUTSTANDING! A good coach can win his teams a game when he has too. TALENT, TALENT, TALENT! Andrew Miller is a freaking beast! Napoli,Crisp and Miller wanted to come here because of Tito! Well Tito and pitching coach Mickey Callaway. He is a master mind. Im putting the sorry ass Haslams and the Browns on blast right freaking now! Put up or get out! This franchise is the only sports team in town that is absolutely terrible. It's the only black eye in the whole damn town. This team sells out every freaking game and is terrible. Is it the Browns or the game of football? I think it's the game of football. ENOUGH OF THE EXCUSES! PRODUCE HASLAM OR SELL THE TEAM TO SOMEONE WHO CARES ABOUT CHAMPIONSHIPS! Because your franchise is lagging way behind my man. So quit ripping off Teamsters, get your thump out of your arse and PRODUCE or SELL! OH YEAH............................................................................................................... GOOOOOOOOO TRIBE! ALL IN O-H...... YOU ALL KNOW THE REST!
The Cleveland Indians won Game 5 of the American League Championship Series on Wednesday, and afterward reliever Andrew Miller was named the series' Most Valuable Player. Miller's usage became a main talking point of the series, as manager Terry Francona repeatedly turned to him in the middle innings for multiple frames. To wit, Miller appeared in the sixth inning on Wednesday, having previously entered twice in the seventh and once in the eighth. He delivered each time out. All told, Miller worked 7 2/3 innings, striking out 14 batters and allowing zero runs on three hits and no walks
October 25 will be a special night in Cleveland. Thanks to the Indians' victory over the Blue Jays in the ALCS, those Indians on that night will be hosting Game 1 of the World Series against either the Dodgers on Cubs. That will mark the first time in franchise history that the Indians' have hosted the Fall Classic opener. There just so happens to be another big event happening in the city that evening. That event? The Cavaliers' season opener against the Knicks -- before which the Cavs will receive their championship rings and raise their banner: Tuesday will perhaps be the most memorable day in Cleveland sports history.
The Browns are trying to break out of their winless skid this weekend against the Bengals, and they might have to attempt it without key players on either side of the ball. According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, both wide receiver Terrelle Pryor and cornerback Joe Haden sat out of their second straight practice Thursday. Pryor is dealing with a hamstring injury from last week?s loss to the Titans, while Haden pulled a groin muscle during practice last week. They?re hopeful both will be able to play, but missing two straight days of practice has to be a concern. they failed to mention Haden also has a vagina sprain *WALL*
USA Today Is signing Pryor the highest priority now for the Browns? Fred Greetham Yesterday at 8:45 PM Terrelle Pryor is in the final year of his contract and the Browns need to try to sign him to a contract extension before he gets to free agency BEREA, Ohio--The 2016 season is about finding key core players for the Browns as they move forward. One of those players is wide receiver/quarterback/runner Terrelle Pryor. A year ago, Pryor was trying to switch from being a quarterback to the wide receiver position on the fly at the NFL level. He appears to have done so successfully and might even have exceeded many of the expectations set for him. Pryor has done it all for the Browns thus far this season, accounting for 475 all-purpose yards. He leads the team in receptions, receiving yardage, is fourth on the team in rushing and has 41 yards passing. On the season, Pryor has 33 receptions for 413 yards (12.5 avg.) with three touchdowns. At that continued pace, Pryor would have 88 receptions for 1,101 yards and eight touchdowns. He is currently the seventh-leading wide receiver in the AFC in receptions. He's in the top 10 in yardage, as well as on third downs. Pryor is coming off his best receiving game last week with nine receptions for 75 yards, including two touchdowns. Earlier this season, Pryor had eight receptions for 144 yards against Miami. Rookie Cody Kessler credits Pryor for the success he has had in his first few starts. ?Absolutely. Terrelle does a great job," Kessler said. "He is a great competitor, and he is someone that loves the game and he loves this team and he really wants to be successful. He helps me out a ton. He played quarterback so we have conversations about both the quarterback and wide receiver position that we are on the same page because he knows our reads or he knows what we are looking for on certain plays. "He knows what I expect him to do, and I know what he expects me to do on each play," he said. "That is very beneficial for me to be on the same page with a guy as athletic and effective in our offense as Terrelle. He just shows it week in and week out. He goes out and makes plays. He is always in the right position and always doing things the right way.? Everyone knows that Pryor is a tremendously gifted athlete and Hue Jackson is the one coach who has believed in Pryor back to the days he drafted him in the third-round of the NFL Supplemental Draft when Jackson was the head coach of the Raiders. Jackson has found the best way to utilize the abilities of Pryor. Pryor is currently playing on a one-year, $1.67 million contract. As it stands right now, Pryor would become a free agent after this season. It would seem likely that the Browns would make Pryor a high priority in getting a contract extension done with him long before free agency. Pryor has said earlier this season that he loves Hue Jackson and his system and wants to stay with the Browns. However, only last year, Travis Benjamin was saying similar things about staying with the Browns before he bolted to San Diego once free agency began. Pryor was asked about his contract status Wednesday, but he didn't want to talk about it. "Right now my job is to the best I can for the team," Pryor said. "There is so much that goes into the contract stuff so it's irrelevant right now to bring that stuff up. Right now, I'm just looking forward to getting back out there Sunday and helping the team, I really am." After Pryor didn't last in Oakland, Seattle and Kansas City, Pryor ended up with the Bengals, who subsequently released him. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis has been impressed with Pryor's transition from quarterback to receiver.? ?I am very impressed, and I am happy for Terrelle when he is not playing us," Lewis said. "He has just done an outstanding job. "I?m disappointed he is not doing that here for us.? Lewis explained how Pryor ended up making the switch to quarterback and why he didn't last in Cincinnati. He said it was Jackson's idea. ?I think Hue did," Lewis said. "It was suggested by the owner and I think Hue brought it up to him, but he was not ready to do it at that point. He wanted to be a quarterback. That is what he told me when he came here and even when we decided that we were just going to bring three quarterbacks to training camp. "It was not anything that Terrelle did negatively," Lewis said. "It was just a matter of what we wanted to do with and having a young guy with the ability to be on the practice squad. We went down a number because we needed another position, but he still was not ready. When he left here, I think he visited New England, and then it was not until after that that he decided, ?Hey, I will do this.? You have to credit him for committing to it and getting it done, and he has really done it great.? There is no question that with the suspension of Josh Gordon and the injury to Corey Coleman, Pryor has been the Browns biggest offensive weapon. He suffered a hamstring injury last week in the third quarter, but finished the game. He has down played the injury and said he plans to play this week despite missing practice. ?I won?t practice (Wednesday) at all, and then we will see how this feels going forward for (Thursday)," Pryor said. "I participated (Wednesday) in the walkthrough so we are seeing how it goes. We are being cautious and I think taking the right steps to make sure that I will be able to help the team on Sunday.? Jackson said he was "hopeful" that Pryor will be able to play this week after Thursday's practice. Pryor was on the stationary bike on Thursday during the open part of practice to the media.? Despite being 0-6, Pryor said he knows the importance of this week's game with the Bengals to Jackson--his former team.? "I am going to try to go because we owe this to the city," Pryor said. "We have to get a win. Our teammates, this whole team, we work so hard, so I am going to do everything I can possible to make sure I am ready to go.? Extra Points Howard Set to Start at Safety:?DB Tracy Howard is listed as the starting free safety in place of DB Jordan Poyer, who was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. Howard made the team as an undrafted rookie free agent from Miami. Howard spent most of his time in training camp at cornerback. Jackson said that Howard has?been?practicing at safety in recent weeks.? ?He had practiced back there quite a bit," Jackson said. "He is kind of a jack of all trades. He kind of does it all for us. It was good to have him go back there and play. He will get a chance to play back there this week.? DB Ed Reynolds was promoted from?the?practice squad earlier this week and will be in the mix with DB Ibraheim Campbell, DB Derrick Kindred and Howard. Pryor, Haden Sit Out Again:?WR Terrelle Pryor sat out of practice with a hamstring injury on Wednesday and Thursday, but said on Wednesday that he was optimistic he'll be able to play by Sunday. Jackson said that Friday's walk through would be important for both players and if they can practice, they will do some running to see how they can perform. "We have a great training staff," he said. "I'm putting all my faith in them and God that they'll get me up and ready to go."?Besides, Haden, DB Marcus Burley (hamstring), TE Seth DeValve (knee), WR Corey Coleman (hand) and OL Joe Thomas (knee) did not practice. QB Robert Griffin III (shoulder) was on the stationary bike. TE Randall Telfer (ankle), DB Jamar Taylor (knee), QB Josh McCown (left shoulder) and DL Xavier Cooper (shoulder) were listed as limited. Caldwell a Possibility: DB Trey Caldwell (5-9, 185) returned to practice on Thursday after being on the stationary bike in recent days. Caldwell was the final Browns draft choice in the fifth-round this year out of Louisiana-Monroe. He is currently on the practice squad but could be promoted with DB's Haden and Burley dealing with injuries. DB Jamar Taylor was limited with a knee injury. Also, DB Jordan Poyer was placed on injured reserve earlier this week. DB Ed Reynolds was promoted to the roster earlier this week.
