He was drinking whiskey on the way home, MUCH higher alcohol content than beer at a frat party...Beer about 5% alcohol by volume, the average whiskey has 40-50% alcohol by volume. One per hour on the flight could get him to that if he had "doubles"...then he also said he continued drinking at an establishment after they landed. Regardless..never should have gotten behind the wheel of a car..PERIOD. I would say that effectively ends the teams rights to alcohol on any plane ride home going forward, which is probably a good thing since Gordon returns next week..
Finally something I know a bit about: Still means he had to have had 16 or more drinks (or 8 double whiskeys) which is still pretty much in the realm of frat party binge drinking. Regardless, a truly idiotic moment for him.....
If it was college, I would agree with you, but these are grown men....Rather than ban everyone from having a drink on the plane, how about just ban the knuckleheads...If you screw up like Alvin and become "that guy", then you lose your privileges. Put your "dunce" hat on, and have a Fresca on the way home... My son is 12 and he's an honor student. Great kid. Teachers love him and they go out of their way to tell me how much they enjoy having him in class all the time....The problem is, he's in a class with some knuckleheads. So almost every day, his entire class gets punished, and doesn't get to participate in the fun things, because of 4 or 5 kids that don't give a shit.....I just don't think that's the right way to deal with it. Why punish all of them for the actions of a select few?
Sounds too reasonable for Goodell and the labor union to sign off on. That and Pepsi is the official soft drink of the NFL so it couldn't be Fresca since it's a Coca-Cola Co. product....
Well they asked Hue at the presser today if Alvin was going to play this week, and his response was: "You'll find out Sunday".... I was wondering, if no alcohol was being served on the plane, how the hell did Alvin Bailey manage to pull that off? You can't take any kind of liquid on a plane...There's no way he got a flask through security....Maybe big Al has an "in" with one of the stewardesses... *DONT_KNOW*
Heading back to the Pasztor talk, as much trouble as he had in the passing game and all of the penalties. He ranked slightly above average in run blocking by PFF. Runs off of RT are averaging over 6 ypc.
Terrelle Pryor has emerged as one of the few bright spots on the Browns this season, becoming their No. 1 receiver while also taking some snaps at quarterback. And now we know something else about Pryor: His optimism is boundless. Pryor said this week that despite the Browns? 0-3 start, he thinks they?re a good enough team to win every remaining game and finish 13-3. ?We?re so close to getting over that hump,? Pryor said. ?Once we get over that hump, I think we?re going to have a lot of success, even this year. . . . I think we can win all the rest of the games. It depends on our mindset. It depends on how we look at it. It?s just one week at a time.? Is that realistic? No. Is it understandable that Pryor has that mindset? Yes. His confidence in himself has paid off, even if his confidence in his team may be just a bit too high.
He played well last year down the stretch at guard . which is where he should be now . the bean counters drafted two rooks who are tackles . insert one of them .Coleman was a third round pick . I know he was hurt so please don't tell me they wasted a third on a guy who cant play yet . With Bailey pulling a little weasel stunt *ROSE* . his fat ass should have already been cut . put Pazstor at RG and start one of the rooks at RT . they let Schwartz walk . justify the draft position .
: Greetham - Hue: Austin Reiter could play center this week 1:49 PM? Chris Cooly (from Redskins pro-bowl tight end was talking on his Redskins radio show this morning destroying the Redskin's FO for letting this guy go. Said he was really good and was very solid. He was impressed with him during pre-season. Had a lot of positive things to say and he rarely sugar-coats anything. I am paraphrasing but implied he was a future starter in the wings type of player.
Josh Gordon is done.....Says he's checking into rehab rather than pursuing his football career with the Cleveland Browns... smh
Yeah, I can't believe it either....He's just not wired right. I hope Josh Gordon get's his life together, but as a Browns fan, I'm ready to move on. It's disappointment after disappointment with Josh....
BEREA, Ohio - Browns receiver Josh Gordon issued a statement this evening saying he is entering a rehabilitation facility and will not rejoin the Browns Oct. 9 against New England when his league suspension is over. With all the chances the Browns have given him, his career in Cleveland is likely now over. Here are the statements: Statement from Josh Gordon "After careful thought and deep consideration I've decided that I need to step away from pursuing my return to the Browns and my football career to enter an in-patient rehabilitation facility. This is the right decision for me and one that I hope will enable me to gain full control of my life and continue on a path to reach my full potential as a person. I appreciate the support of the NFL, NFLPA, the Browns, my teammates, my agent and the community through this extremely challenging process." Statement from Executive VP of Football Operations Sashi Brown on Josh Gordon "We support Josh in taking this step to seek additional help and treatment. His singular focus must be on his own health. We want nothing more than for Josh to be successful personally and professionally and will not comment on his status with the organization at this time."
CUT THE HIPPIE LETTUCE NOW! Let him go to N.E. and become a H.O.F. Enough is enough already. Nothing between the ears here. Time to focus more time on the best athlete on the team. The Ohio States own... Terrell Pryor! Hire or bring in Chad Johnson as a full time WR coach and have him work with Pryor, Coleman and others on a weekly basis. Hippie Lettuce has gotten enough attention for doing absolutely nothing in 2 years but frack up. I hope Jackson has designed a game plan that includes a lot of Pryor. My sweet baby Jesus. Is it true, is it really true that the most athletic player on this team is a signed free agent? From where, where? THE OHIO ST. Maybe the money ball guys have learned something....... Taking F%$^$#@ BUCKEYES! Paul Brown did and they won! Later Hippie Lettuce.... Puff, Puff GIVE!
I'm guessing we're going to find out there's already a failed test on record. Only thing that makes sense.
I might be crazy or just hoping Washington loses but I think the Browns win this week. I did pick the Dolphins last week but I did think it would be close. This week I think they get everything together and exploit a Redskins team that I think has even less of an identity.
