Cody Kessler is known for accuracy, which led to his outstanding completion percentage at Southern Cal....His critics say it's because he's willing to check down often and take what the D gives...We all know that won't cut it in this league. He has got to be decisive and in Hue Jackson's offense he has to rip the defense vertically....This will obviously be a huge test for Kessler in Miami, Sunday.....I sure wish he had all the weapons at his disposal, especially Gordon and Coleman....Pryor is a wildcard, but after him, it will be interesting to see who steps up for the Browns receiving corp, if anyone....It would be very nice if we get a Gary Barnidge sighting...
BEREA, Ohio ? Another Ravens game, another broken collarbone for Browns quarterback Josh McCown. The 14-year pro fractured his left collarbone during Sunday's 25-20 loss to the Ravens, a Browns spokesman clarified on Friday. Previously, the team was vague about the extent of the injury. It's non-displaced, despite Hue Jackson what said Friday. But the timeframe hasn't changed. He's out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, and likely to miss multiple games. The Browns, however, will only say he's week-to-week. Last season, he broke his right collarbone in a loss to the Ravens and spent the last five weeks of the season on injured reserve. McCown's injury comes on the heels of starter Robert Griffin III breaking the coracoid bone in his left shoulder in week one. He's out a minimum of 8-12 weeks, and rookie Cody Kessler will make his NFL debut Sunday in Miami. The Browns signed 11-year pro Charlie Whitehurst this week to back him up. Jackson was initially vague about McCown's injury on Monday, describing it as not "totally broken.'' "I want to get the right words for you guys,'' Jackson said then. "I know it is in the shoulder/clavicle area. I don't know that it's totally broken. I don't think that, but I know that there's something that's not right. I think it's more of a deep sprain at this time than anything, but I don't think there's anything totally broken." But defensive coordinator Ray Horton, in answering a question during his Friday press conference about how tough the loss was, said he was especially disappointed because McCown tried to win the game with a broken collarbone. "Well my emotional thought was, 'we didn't win,''' said Horton. "That's what we want. ... I was probably most disappointed for Josh. He went out there and played with a broken collarbone [and] until the last throw had a chance to win and we talked about the heritage of Ronnie Lott getting a finger amputated to play the game and how precious this game is and what guys will do to play in this game. And so, for me, it was disappointing that we didn't win it for Josh." McCown first injured his shoulder in the first half of Sunday's game and went to the locker room to have it examined. He returned at the start of the second quarter, but was hit hard at least a half-dozen more times. Still, he refused to come out and had a chance to pull it out in the end ? until a controversial taunting call against Terrelle Pryor thwarted those plans. "He's one of the toughest human beings I've seen play in a long time,'' Jackson said Monday. "He played as well and hard as he could." Holding out hope that McCown, 37, will heal quickly and get back on the field, the Browns declined to be specific about the nature of the injury at the outset. ''Some people heal faster than others,'' Jackson said. "Some people can tough certain things out. We will just see where it is. We will evaluate it after next week, see where he is and then go from there." After the game, McCown explained why he didn't come out. "It's just not wanting to not be out there with your guys,'' McCown said, his eyes red. "I have a dad and an older brother who get up and go to work and sometimes they don't feel great and they go. They go and they grind. I have two little boys that are playing football now. They get hit and they get banged up, and I am trying to teach them what toughness means. "For me, it's those things and just knowing the window for me right now and understanding that I don't want to miss snaps. ... Unless it is going to fall off, let's try to make it work and make it go. That's my mentality.'' McCown's injury is just one of many for the Browns. Center Cam Erving is week-to-week with a bruised lung, as is defensive end Carl Nassib with a broken hand. Receiver Corey Coleman broke his hand in practice on Wednesday. They've all been ruled out for the Dolphins game, along with starting safety Ibraheim Campbell, dealing with a hamstring issue. Cornerback Joe Haden (groin) and kicker Pat Murray (knee) are questionable for Sunday. i
HOLY SH** is this Kessler kid for real or is Miami that phuquing bad? *DONT_KNOW* GO BROWNS!!!!! *DRINK*
Tough loss. I thought we played as well as we could with what we put on the field. Kessler looks pretty solid. Give him a weapon or two more. Those missed fgs made me cringe though *WASSUP*
Browns battle back, but find way to lose in OT Fred Greetham 5:13 PM The Browns came from 11 points down in the second half with a chance to win in regulation, but Cody Parkey missed the game-winning attempt and the Dolphins won in overtime It's tough to get kicked when you're down. But the Browns continue to find out the hard way as they dropped a 30-24 decision to the Dolphins in overtime as Jay Ajayi scored on an 11-yard run in overtime.? Not only did the Browns lose several key starters this week to injury, but one of them, their kicker Patrick Murray, injured his knee in the team's walkthrough on Friday. Cody Parkey was signed Saturday and joined the team for the game.? He probably should've stayed home. Parkey was set up with a chance to win the game when Corey Lemonier strip-sacked Ryan Tannehill with 20 seconds to play and recovered the fumble. After Hue Jackson chose to have Cody Kessler kneel on first down, he sent out Parkey to attempt a 46-yard field goal attempt, but it was wide left, sending the game to overtime. ?Parker earlier had missed from 41- and 42-yards out. He did make two attempts in between. The Browns are 0-3 for the first time since 2012 and travel to Washington next Sunday. In overtime, the Browns won the toss, but Jackson elected to kickoff. The strategy could've paid off after the defense forced a stop and punt. However, the Browns started at their own nine and after Austin Pasztor was called for holding, the Browns had to punt from inside their own 20. Jarvis Landry returned the punt 13 yards into Cleveland territory. Tannehill promptly hit Landry for 32 yards beating Jamar Taylor to the Browns 11. On the next play, Ajayi scored around left end.? The Browns had the lead at halftime and into the third quarter as they took the third quarter kickoff and drove 55 yards to the Dolphins 15 before Pasztor was called for holding and by the time the Browns had to settle for a field goal attempt, Parkey bounced off the goal post. Pasztor had five penalties in the game, including three holding calls. Promptly, the Dolphins capitalized and went 65 yards for a touchdown to take the lead at 17-13 and then after a forced punt went the distance again and extended their lead to 24-13 with 14:17 left to play. The Browns c?me back and had an 83-yard drive to make it 24-21 with 10:12 left to play as Terrelle Pryor ran in from the quarterback spot and then Kessler threw a fade to Barnidge in the corner of the end zone for the two-point conversion. The Browns tied the game 24-24 with 3:14 to play in regulation when Parkey converted on a 38-yard field goal after the Browns stalled at the Dolphins' 20. Extra Points Busy Terrelle:?A week ago, WR Terrelle Pryor wouldn't talk about playing quarterback. This past week, he said he'd cut off a digit if it helped the team win. Although he wasn't asked to cut off his finger. All totaled, Pryor accounted for 190 all-purpose yards for the Browns. Pryor had eight receptions for 144 yards on 14 targets. He also was 3-of-5 for 35 yards passing and rushed four times for 21 yards, including a three-yard touchdown. ?Pryor was used all over the field. In the first half, Pryor accounted for 99 yards of offense. ?He had 27 yards receiving and had 26 yards rushing. In the first half, Pryor had four receptions for 62 yards, two rushes for 11 yards and threw two passes, completing one for 26 yards. Pryor lined up as a deep safety on the final play of the first half. Rush Game: RB Isaiah Crowell led the Browns rushing with 79 yards on 15 carries, including a long run of 25 yards. Duke Johnson had 69 yards on 10 carries, with a long run of 17 yards. Johnson had five receptions for 12 yards. He was injured in the first quarter, but returned. ? Kessler Tough Start, but Rebounds: Rookie QB Cody Kessler's NFL debut started with a thud. After starting at the Dolphins 33, Kessler was called for delay of game on the first play. After a seven-yard run by RB Isaiah Crowell, Kessler was sacked by DE Cameron Wake and lost the ball recovered by the Dolphins. Kessler completed his first five passes for 36 yards, Kessler led a scoring drive to end the first half and was 8-of-11 for 76 yards in the first half. Kessler finished with a rating of 85.9 in his debut with 21-of-33 for 244 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He was sacked four times and lost one fumble. Boddy-Calhoun's Debut: DB Briean Boddy-Calhoun interecpeted QB Ryan Tannehill and returned it 27 yards for a touchdown to give the Browns a 10-7 lead with 6:47 left i the first half. Earlier, Boddy-Calhoun was beaten for a touchdown by WR DeVante Parker. Body-Calhoun was playing due to CB Joe Haden being inactive with a groin injury. Body-Calhoun was an undrafted rookie free agent from Minnesota the Browns claimed from Jacksonville. He was inactive in the first two games.? Mixed Homecoming: DB Jamar Taylor interecepted QB Ryan Tannehill on the second play of the game to give the Browns a first down on the Dolphins 33. Taylor was traded to the Browns on draft day for a seventh-round pick after being the Dolphins' second-round draft pick. Taylor had an illegal contact call in the third quarter and then was beaten by WR Jarvis Landry for 32 yards to set up the Dolphins winning touchdown in overtime.? Big Play Gary: TE Gary Barnidge caught a 26 yard pass early in the game from Terrelle Pryor to set up a field goal opportunity, which was missed. He also caught a one-handed eight yard pass before a 46-yard field goal. Barnidge caught a 22-yard pass in the third quarter and finished with five receptions for 66 yards.? Just One Sack: LB Corey Lemonier had the only sack for the Browns, but it was a big one. Lemonier strip-sacked QB Ryan Tannehill with 20 seconds left in regulation, but he Browns missed the field goal and a chance to win the game. Rookie Day: Rookie WR Ricardo Louis caught three passes for 40 yards. He also had a penalty. Haden Inactive: After missing Friday's walkthrough with a groin injury that Jackson down played, CB Joe Haden was inactive. immediately, QB Ryan Tannehill picked on rookie DB Briean Boddy-Calhoun for a 27-yard touchdown pass to WR DeVante Parker to take a 7-0 lead on their second series. Besides Haden, others inactive were: QB Josh McCown (shoulder), DB Ibraheim Campbell (hamstring), OL Shon Coleman, OL Cameron Erving (lung), DL Carl Nassib (hand) and WR Corey Coleman (hand). WR Andrew Hawkins started for Coleman, while DB Derrick Kindred started for Campbell. DB Tramon Williams started in place of Haden. Bad Parkey: Newly signed K Cody Parkey got off to a bad start in his first game with the Browns. After the Browns moved to the Dolphins' 24 on their second possession, Parkey was wide left on a 41-yard field goal attempt. Parkey was signed Saturday after K Patrick Murray injured his knee and was placed on injured reserve. He did make a 46-yard field goal on his next attempt and kicked a 48-yard field goal before the end of the first half. However, Parkey banged a 42-yard attempt off the goal post with 7:27 left in the third quarter ?and then missed the potential game-winning field goal at the end of regulation to finish just 2-of-5.? Tramon Toast:?Starting in place of DB Joe Haden, DB Tramon Williams was beaten on a crossing route by WR Jarvis Landry and then DB Derrick Kindred missed the tackle on Landry's way to the end zone that gave the Dolphins a 17-13 lead with 5:17 to play in the third quarter.? Old Friend: Former Browns TE Jordan Cameron had one catch for five yards. Cameron made the Pro Bowl with the Browns but went to Miami in free agency in 2015. Cameron was taken to the locker room for concussion evaluation in the first half and did not return.? Day to Forget: RT Austin Pasztor was flagged for five penalties. He had two false starts and three holding calls and gave up a sack to Cameron Wake. Pasztor had two of his penalties were drive killers as they came on the Browns 14 play drive to open the third quarter that resulted in a missed field goal. Busy Day: DB Jordan Poyer led the Browns with 12 tackles followed by LB Christian Kirksey, who had nine. Poyer also returned a punt in the fourth quarter.
Well Wentz is legit . on the other hand Kessler didn't play bad from I heard on the radio .Let him start the rest of the season . If we had a kicker *ROSE* Pasztor is much better at guard than he is at tackle *ROSE* they drafted two rooks . why the hell cant one of them play RT ? the bean counters should have known this when they lost Schwartz ??? ST sucks all the way around . I miss Benji on returns . hard to believe they cant find a guy who can return kicks & punts .
They tried to draft a guy to bring back kicks and punts with the 8th pick, he also tried playing CB,lol Justin Gilbert. Yes Bluez add Philly to the list of teams that just bitch slapped the Browns. Wentz does look real good. Kessler didn't look that bad but Wentz is for real, my man. Yes Philly is a better team than us but I would of rather had Wentz than Coleman. I don't even like taking QBs that early in the draft but I was wrong about Wentz. He is a GAMER. The NFL game doesn't look to big or fast for him. I also agree with letting Kessler start the rest of the year. This is a 0-2 win football team with or without him. Let him learn the NFL game. Another thing..... The Kicker needs replaced. The team played with a lot of heart so this lose is on the kicker. All in all they fought the good fight. I seen some growth today. Can they build on that? That will have to be seen. Eagles up 34-3 on Pittsburgh at the end of the 3rd qrt. Wentz has not thrown a pick in 90 pass attempts. Yes Browns you F%^$%# up again.
At least I got Wentz in FF. Sounds like the team is making progress at any rate. Pryor is turning out to be a godsend. I can't wait til it's Pryor /Gordon / Coleman / Barnidge. That sounds like a recieving corps that would threaten any D. Now if we can find a healthy cheerleader who can throw to them. How do we get three guys injured in one week of "practice"? Haden, Coleman, and our kicker? What did we do to warrant such misery? Make a kick / win a game. No miss a kick or even worse have it blocked and the opponent runs it in for points. My hope is that our luck turns as the odds keep building. Washington seems beatable. The good news: we are starting the same QB two weeks in a row . Yeah us!

By Terry Pluto, The Plain Dealer Email the author | Follow on Twitter on September 25, 2016 at 5:30 PM, updated September 25, 2016 at 5:58 PM MIAMI, Florida -- If they had just made the field goal... That's what the Cleveland Browns and their fans have to be thinking after watching their team lose to the Miami Dolphins, 30-24, in overtime Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium. That's right, the supposedly battered and beleaguered Browns took this game into overtime. And if Cody Parkey had kicked a 46-yard field goal on the final play of regulation, the Browns would have had their first win of the season. Parkey also missed another 46-yarder and a 41-yarder. It's a bummer. But there also are some real reasons for hope. I'm not talking about a winning season in 2016, or even more than a few victories this season. But watching what Hue Jackson did in this game, you can see what the coach and his staff will be able to do when the young team matures and adds more talent in the next few years. Jackson apparently surprised the Dolphins by mixing Terrelle Pryor into the quarterback mix with starter Cody Kessler. Or perhaps the Miami defense knew it was coming, but didn't deal with it very well. Either way, Jackson found a way to keep this game close and interesting -- something I didn't expect. Browns fans know the lamentations and list of injuries: Corey Coleman (broken hand), Carl Nassib (broken hand), Joe Haden (groin injury), Josh McCown (broken collarbone) and Robert Griffin III (shoulder injury). That's three starters, and a fourth with either McCown or Griffin at quarterback. One of the most impressive parts of this game was how Jackson kept finding ways to put the ball in the hands of Pryor, as easy as 1-2-3. Throw it to him. Let him throw it. Let him run from the wildcat formation. Pryor caught eight passes for 144 yards. He ran the ball four times for 21 yards, including a 3-yard touchdown. He was 3-of-5 passing for 35 yards. It was a performance that screamed, "I can be a player in this league!" Jackson is finding ways to make the former Ohio State quarterback into a real weapon. Furthermore, the switching between Kessler and Pryor at quarterback could have led to a lot of confusion. But it went smoothly. For Kessler, it was a decent performance under real duress. He was pressed into starting duty this week. There were changes on the offensive line. It could have been a disaster, as it appeared on his first possession. He fumbled twice, losing the second one. He was sacked. His offense was flagged for a delay of game. But Kessler pulled himself together. He finished with 244 yards passing on 21-of-33. Ray Horton's defense was without its top pass rusher (Nassib) and its best defensive back (Haden). He had Brien Boddy-Calhoun on the field ... a lot. This was his first regular season NFL game. He was picked up on waivers from Jacksonville. Boddy-Calhoun was beat on a touchdown pass to DeVante Parker. But the rookie also picked off a pass and ran it back 27 yards for a touchdown. The Browns defense did a lot of good things until they just seemed to be drained by Miami's second possession of the overtime. But the bottom line was a loss. That bottom line was because Parkey missed three field goals. The future has promise. The coaches know what they are doing. Some young players are improving. But it's still a frustrating loss.
I MISS PHIL DAWSON!!! this injury riddled team could very easily be 2-1 if they could just execute in the kicking game...I wasn't that upset when I heard our kicker somehow got injured in the walk through on Friday, because he was terrible against Baltimore anyway. How much worse could a new kicker be? smh.... The Browns are creative in finding ways to lose, I gotta give em' that.... This might seem strange coming from me on the day after a loss like that, but I'm actually pretty happy today. I was very impressed with how Hue Jackson set that gameplan up yesterday. Switching QB's in and out was brilliant. After the shaky first drive, those guys were making plays all over the place. Give us Gordon and Coleman, and I think we'd have won by two touchdowns.... Kessler showed some real grit. That kid is tough. He was taking a beating by Cameron Wake, who we had no answer for all day. His numbers were solid considering the intense pressure he was under, and that 2 point conversion throw was a thing of beauty....But I gotta give coach credit. Putting Pryor back there was helping Kessler get it together. It really seemed like they caught the Dolphins off guard with that, though I'm not sure why. Heck, I mentioned on this thread that I expected to see Pryor take some snaps here and there. Pryor was sensational all day. He is a helluva weapon, and his spectacular abilities are only going to help Kessler progress...Cody needs to get the ball out a little sooner, but over all, I was impressed with him in his first start... Our Defense was not particularly good, but they were opportunistic. And they absolutely made enough plays that the Browns should have won the football game. The huge strip sack of Tannehill at the end of regulation should have put the game away... What is the deal with our kick return game? Over the years, Browns fans have always been able to count on some nice returns. We had Dino Hall and Gerald McNiel in the 80's...Eric Metcalf in the 90's....Then came Joshua Cribbs...Then Travis Benjamin....But we have officially hit the wall on that front. It's like we are just hoping to catch the ball, and that's it...We don't even try to return punts... The Cleveland Browns have a ways to go, but it really is exciting to think about the things Hue Jackson can do when he has all the weapons at his disposal. We got some holes to fill, but we also have a bunch of draft picks. Plenty of room for optimism. There is some light at the end of the tunnel...I think the future is bright for this franchise...
ESPN Cleveland @ ESPNCleveland 19m 19 minutes ago Grossi: I heard the coaches wanted to bring in free agent kicker Robbie Gould but the front office wanted to bring in a lesser priced guy. To add to Grossi's report.... Alex Marvel Verified account @alexmarvez According to @ArmandoSalguero the @Browns front-office decision to go cheap at kicker cost team a win v #Dolphins http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/armando-salguero/ ? (True story: After the game, league sources said Browns special teams coach Chris Tabor wanted his team to sign free agent kicker Robbie Gould on Friday when Cleveland?s first-string kicker Patrick Murray sustained a knee injury. But Browns management decided Gould is too expensive and so they went with Parkey ? who practically single-handedly lost the game for them.) I'm hoping these reports are not true...In season, especially with injuries, these guys really need to take coaches input to heart when discussing player acquisitions.
Nice post, TD. I think they are improving, albeit against the Dolphins who aren't too good themselves. It's also difficult to see overall improvement with the rash of injuries the team has had and juggling the starting lineups. As for special teams......... *ROSE* They really need a capable kicker and a punt/kick returner. They haven't focused on this side of the ball since before.......well, I can't remember.....before Shurmur? or Mangini? With a team that struggles on offense every year, you'd think they would at least focus on acquiring a good K, P, and KR/PR.
Unfortunately, the Browns are always going to be linked to Carson Wentz, and rightfully so, because they didn't take him. It was a bad move IMO, and I give Philly all the credit in the world for making such a bold move....It is what it is. I'm not going to dwell on it. Wentz is the real deal, and that pick we got from Philly becomes less valuable with every Eagles victory... The only way that talk is ever going to truly stop though, is if Cody Kessler turns out to be really good, or if the Browns finally hit on a franchise QB in the next draft...The longer Cleveland struggles at QB, the more magnified the trade out of the #2 pick in the previous draft is going to get....That's NFL reality. Is there anyone in the world unaware that Cleveland passed on Roethlisberger so they could select Winslow? No....
From Terry Pluto: MIAMI, Florida -- Scribbles in my Cleveland Browns notebook after their 30-24 overtime loss to Miami. 1. The one free agent the Browns allowed to walk away who has hurt the team the most is right tackle Mitchell Schwartz. Pro Bowl center Alex Mack had no intention of returning, but Schwartz was open to re-signing with the Browns. It never happened, as he went to Kansas City. 2. I bring this up because Austin Pasztor had one of the worst games by an offensive lineman -- ever. That's not a big stretch. Pasztor was flagged for three holding penalties. That's right, THREE. And he was flagged for two false starts. If you're counting, you need all five fingers to keep track of Pasztor's penalties. 3. Pasztor's five penalties cost the Browns 65 yards. He also allowed at least one sack. Several times, his man pressured quarterback Cody Kessler. I'm astounded the Browns stayed with Pasztor for the entire game. I'm not going to dwell on losing Schwartz. But I do think it's time for someone else to play right tackle, perhaps rookie Spencer Drango. 4. Heading into Sunday's loss, Profootballfocus.com rated Pastzor No. 64 out of 68 regular NFL tackles. You can say it's subjective, but Pastzor had a very rough game against Philadelphia. He allowed a sack and six QB pressures against the Eagles, according to Profootballfocus. They gave him "a clean sheet" in the game against Baltimore. 5. My thought is when a player is obviously having a terrible game on the offensive line, why not take him out? They do at other positions, including the defensive line. Pasztor's confidence was shot trying to block the quicker Dolphins -- and he made it worse with all the penalties. 6. If the Browns had Phil Dawson, would they be 2-1? I know, it's picking at an old wound. But in the 25-20 loss to Baltimore, Patrick Murray had an extra point blocked and returned for a safety. That's two points for Baltimore. Murray missed a 52-yarder. That's a tough kick, but the good kickers do connect from that distance. Special teams coach Chris Tabor said the problem was Murray, not the blocking, on the failed extra point. 7. Murray was injured in practice Friday. He was replaced by Cody Parkey, who had been working out at a local high school field. Parkey was cut in training camp by Philadelphia. In 2014, he made the Pro Bowl. But he was injured in 2015, then cut last month. He was 3-of-6 on field goals. He had no time to practice with the team because he was signed so late. 8. Coach Hue Jackson said: "I know everyone will say it came down to field goals, but I'm not going to put that kind of pressure on Cody. He just got off the plane with us." 9. All of that is true, but he missed from 41, 42, 46 yards. You miss three field goals in an overtime loss ... well ... it came down to field goals because the other units kept the game close. 10. My guess is the Browns will be shopping for another kicker. Since Dawson left, they have used five: Billy Cundiff, Travis Coons, Garrett Hartley, Parkey and Murray. Now in his fourth season with the 49ers, Dawson is 84-of-98 on field goals (85 percent). From at least 50 yards, he's 13-of-19. 11. Ray Horton's defense did a decent job, given the circumstances. They were without their best passer rusher (Carl Nassib) and best defensive back (Joe Haden) because of injuries. They picked off two passes. They also recovered a fumble. It was a sack and a recovery by linebacker Corey Lemonier, claimed on waivers by the Browns after spending three years mostly on the bench for the 49ers. 12. Playing his first NFL game, Briean Boddy-Calhoun picked off a pass and ran it back for a touchdown. The Browns claimed him on waivers from Jacksonville. Horton was playing a lot of new and inexperienced guys. 13. I was glad the Browns gave more carries to Duke Johnson. He responded with 69 yards in 10 attempts. Isaiah Crowell ran for 79 yards in 15 attempts. Add it up, and that's a big-time running back -- 148 yards in 25 carries. Hue Jackson is putting a ground game together. 14. It was rookie receiver Ricardo Louis -- not rookie Rashard Higgins -- who made some plays filling in for the injured Corey Coleman. Louis caught three passes for 40 yards. He did have a drop. Only one pass (incomplete) was thrown to Higgins. 15. Gary Barnidge became an important part of the offense, catching five passes for 66 yards. The Browns have a good tight end and should use him.
Have to say I'll be watching for Boddy-Calhoun in future games. Kid got burned early but picked up his game after that, including the INT returned for a TD.
Wow...that's not good. Not good at all! The thing I really don't understand about the way that game wound down in regulation, is why the hell didn't the Browns try to gain some yards after they recovered the fumble. They had a timeout, but elected to just take a knee and let the final 20 seconds tick away. Our kicker had already missed twice from shorter range. That was just stupid. It made no sense to just settle for the 46 yard attempt. Our offense was gashing them all day. Even Cody Parkey might have been able to make it from 10 or 15 yards closer... At the very least they should have run something toward the right hash. Our crappy kicker was pushing everything left all day. Even the ones he made, barely cleared the left post... And the other head scratcher came right after that....Why the hell did we elect to kick when we one the OT coin flip??? I didn't get that at all either...WEAK.
Today the Browns have publicly denied the report that they signed Cody Parkey over Robbie Gould in an effort to save money, calling the notion "ridiculous"..... hmmmmmmm *SCRATCH* Well if ya can't trust a Haslam owned operation, then who can ya trust? @= *PARDON*
Sorry but Hue made a HUGE mistake in the game...u dont settle for a 46 yd FG w a TO left....run the ball, short quick pass but to take a knee was a very rookie HC mistake...if its a chip shot 25 yd FG I wuld agree but cmon Hue get it together
