Hang onto Gordon . we have nothing to lose at this point . if he wants to stay like TD & Irish already stated make it a team friendly contract . I am hoping his head is on straight . what a talent when it is .

Yes, the compensation isn't comparable... With Mingo, the team will save $2.63M...cutting him would NOT save that money. With Gordon, the savings is only $817K... A bigger difference is that Gordon has already shown he can be one of the best in the NFL at his position, Mingo has shown that he was not worthy of a high draft pick. Trading Gordon accomplishes nothing... Now, Gilbert? Yes, I would agree with Stopper on that one.
Oh, you coach at Euclid...I could have swore you said you coached at Cleveland Heights.. Good luck tonight!!
Thanks...I was at Hts from 09-13...then went 2 Benedictine for 2 yrs(alma mater) and when our coach left and went 2 Iowa St... I decided 2 go back w Rotsky
GREAT MOVE today! I'm starting to really like this "MONEY BALL" front office. I agree with bluez to keep Gordon. If he f&^$# up again he is gone anyway. I already mentioned on another post that this team needs an OLB that can get after the QB. Mingo couldn't do that. To get a 5th rd pick for him was outstanding! He was going to get cut and cost you anyway. Now Erving, Gilbert and Shelton are on notice. Keep cleaning house, get more talented and younger. Get rid of these 1st rd bust scrubs. Im loving it like McDonalds! Bring in young, talented players with character. Save that money and add some young impact players. Maybe 1 or 2. Really like this move. Out with the old loser mentality and in with the new WINNER mentality!
Sure, the Browns offloaded Barkevious Mingo today. But in hanging onto Josh Gordon and Josh McCown for the moment, the Browns hope to prove they?re serious about winning. As in, this year. Seriously. (Cue Donald Sutherland in Animal House: ?I?m not joking, . . . this is my job?.) Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown said the accumulation of future draft picks should not stand as evidence they weren?t trying to compete this year, saying it was ?silly? and ?laughable? to think they were tanking. ?I think if anybody has been around our facility, they?d know how silly that is,? Brown said, via Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com. ?We want to win. Our expectations are, just because we have a younger roster, doesn?t mean that we?re at all trying to lose, I guess. ?If that?s the perception, I would say that?s laughable and I think we?re all competitive guys. We understand that part of what we need to do is build a winning culture here, and everything that we?ve talked about and worked towards is aimed at winning and there are no seasons off or, for us even, reps off.? ?We would be very disappointed if we have four wins. That said, I think we?re not going to measure our success just in terms of wins. We?re realistic with where our roster is in terms of a proven roster that?s capable of winning.? Of course, it?s easy to pick on Brown for saying such things, since the Browns have won more than five games in a season exactly once in the last eight years. And that?s a pretty low bar to clear. It?s debatable that the presence of either of the Joshes will make a significant impact on breaking out of that skid. And they?re definitely not going to change things there without believing they can. But they?re just going to have to pardon the rest of us when we snicker when they say things like that.
https://yho.com/nfl?l=327127&k=9892 ? 9982ffa5bc I still have two slots open if anyone is interested . we draft Monday night .. Thank You and goo Browns !
Gotta say, the Browns offense is starting to look a little scary! Coleman looks like he might be the real deal, Pryor has been impressive. Add Josh Gordon to that group and there's alot to be excited about. If RGIII stays healthy and plays like he is capable of, the Browns could surprise alot of people. Very interested to see what that passing offense looks like this week with all 3 receivers available.
Didn't you hear? They are making "adjustments". ...well I would freaking hope so!! That's all I keep hearing from coaches and players alike. Hopefully this vanilla stuff is designed to get them into football shape and all the smart game plans are being saved for actual games.
From what I can tell, they were making adjustments to both the OFF AND DEF last year. (sarcasm font off) Seriously though, I don't discount the vanilla preseason DEF game planning. However, I also don't believe that the DEF is "there" yet either. New coach and new schemes and still building the roster don't add up to a great year for the DEF. Hope the offense is high powered enough to keep us in games while the DEF catches on and makes do with who they have this year.
Horton wasn't that great when he was here the first time . if he can somehow get us to mid pack then I can see us surprising a few teams .
