I've figured out why you're down on Gordon. Because he already proved you wrong once. Prior to his breakout '13 season (87, 1646yds 9 TDs) when others were excited about his future you said...

The underlined is your thing I guess but you were wrong 3 years ago and there's a very good chance you're wrong now. Cause the last time you smack-talked Josh Gordon he led the league in receiving (in 14 games).

Damn this thread is freakin funny...

Uhm stopper, I counted at least 4 different times where you have accused me of making multiple crazy, insane remarks about the Browns WR's....seriously dude, wtf is wrong with you...where are all the "crazy" remarks??

Just shut the hell up....nothing that you say makes any sense to anyone...

Gordon and Coleman have the potential to be great. PERIOD. End of story...football people can understand this...I know you hate it because it could potentially mean good things and happiness for the Browns and their fans, but you can suck it...Gordon and Coleman might be great, and you are just gonna have to live with it...Browns fans have good reason for optimism about our WRs, and there is nothing you can do to snuff it out...hahahaha!

But it's okay for you to say, prior to Elam's rookie season, "Elam will make people forget bout Pollard real fast and may even give Mr Reed a run for his $." Reed's a hall of famer.

Or... "Elam will b a stud and will make people say Pollard who."

Or... "Elam will become a starter....kid just makes plays."

You can project players but TD is wrong for projecting the 1st WR taken in the draft.

Good point beach, but I'm telling ya, the only reason stopper went after my original post was because it reflected well on the Cleveland Browns....had I projected Gordon and Coleman to be an awful situation for us at WR, he would of ignored it or piled on....its the way stopper is...he jumps every positive remark about the Browns on this thread, and he has for years...nothing he says surprises people...most everybody thinks he's full of crap anyway

Duke Johnson said new coach Hue Jackson has made it clear he wants to run the ball and establish a physical mentality.

This matches comments made by RBs coach Kirby Wilson, who said in May the Browns will be a "run-oriented football team." A smashmouth plan -- perhaps even an exotic one -- sounds great in July, but Cleveland will need the defense to hold up their end of the bargain to execute a run-heavy offense. Johnson is currently behind Isaiah Crowell for early-down work, but he could eat into that lead with a strong camp.

I like our running backs...I see serious potential with our "dynamic duo" of Isaac and Duke... ;)

In all seriousness, I do expect our running game to be better under Hue's guidance...not sure if it's gonna translate to any wins, but the Browns should run the ball better....that's all...not saying they will lead the NFL in rushing, just in case anybody was confused...As far as the "W's" go, that's gonna be up to our QB, whomever it may be...I'm not expecting my usual "worse case scenario" of 8-8...lol! I know most don't think we can win more 2 or 3 games, but I think we can win 5 or 6....if RG3 can show the world that he can run something other than the read option effectively, than who knows, maybe we can do a little better than 6....tis the season for optimism my friends...the sad thing is that the most "optimistic" view is slightly over 6 wins...lol!

    GO BROWNS!

    Hey Lounge houndz *YAHOO*

Training camp is here and that means football is just around the corner. It's a new era in Cleveland. Once again it will be a new look on offense and defense. Defensively, It will be interesting to see how things shape up for this squad. With Bryant out for the year it will be interesting to see how they defense shapes up. We'll see what the "mad scientist" Horton can come up with and whether or not these young guys can step up and make it work.

Offensively it will be interesting to see if Gordon or Pryor make the final roster. Hopefully Ochocinco helps these young WR learn how to run crisp efficient routes. Hopefully Gordon can get into the playbook and make this team. I would like to see him and Coleman paired up for the next several years.

Hopefully the O-line comes together and allows things to happen.

We'll see how Hue utilizes the RB's and what schemes he comes up with.

getting a bit anxious for football to get going...

    Go Browns *YAHOO* *DRINK*

  14. Ya Gordon and Coleman have the potential 2 b great...so does Louis and Payton, so does Boyd and Core, so does Perriman and Aiken....I can go on and on, but u fail 2 realize u can make that comment w just bout any player....my boy Jameis Winston has the potential 2 b the greatest QB of all time...like I said b4 u covered ur behind by using the word "potential" cause if they dont pan out u can always come back and say they culd have done it but this happened...if ur so confident put ur $ up and we will see how much u believe ur BOLD statement...talk is cheap my friend

  15. Great comeback....lets insult the mentally challenged 2 prove a point...class act buddy

  16. Not my argument but someone once told me if the shoe fits then get to walking. Just an observation but it looks like you'll be comfortable in those slippers showstopper.

  17. I think both of these are good ideas and so far I like what Jackson is doing this summer.

So, if that statement is so broad that it can be made about any player, why are your panties in such a tizzy over it...seems you believe it to be a rather low priority broad statement, you shouldn't care less about it in the first place.

The FACT is, no other player on that list has the same expectations as EITHER of the receivers being discussed...you are a maniacal cynic, always have been, always will be. So while you can trudge forth with your "all players have potential" BS, you know for a fact that those players won't be given the same tools to succeed as Gordon and Coleman will be. They are high profile players, thus they will be given much more attention...

NOW, IF AIKEN ever put together a season like Gordon has, then I would agree with you on that pair having a similar potential to be one of the top tandems...but he hasn't come close.

That's what you refuse to acknowledge.. regardless of the fact it was 3 seasons ago, Gordon was the absolute best WR in the entire NFL. That gives him the ammo to have bold statements made about him... along with the fact he is paired with the very first overall WR taken in the draft...

The others you mentioned aren't even first rounders except Perriman, or the top WR taken in their respective draft class...

Not even sure what you are talking about with Boyd and Core..The Bengals already have that core player in AJ Green to add to this conversation...and YES, GREEN and BOYD do have the potential to be one of the top tandems in the NFL..that is correct. No arguments here.

I like the idea of Desir at S..I don't know why it wasn't done sooner. He has all the traits of a safety, but he also did a nice job filling in for Haden, considering he was thrown in.

Anyone get the feeling that even though we are a base 3-4 defense, we will be seeing a LOT of 4 and 5 man fronts in this new Horton defense? The players they drafted are more akin to a 4-3 and I know there have been some 5-2 discussions. This could be a turn around in our scheme's if the players can keep it all straight. We will find out what kind of coach Horton is soon enough.

I am excited about all the changes being made!

Stopper, you are either really naive, or you just play dumb when it fits with whatever absurd crap you are posting....sorry you have such issues with the word "potential". Lol! Didn't realize it would cause you have a meltdown...you are a joke. Enjoy those kicks Mr. Halton was referencing. They sure fit well...

Hey Irish, last time Horton was here, didn't we run a 4-3 base defense? I absolutely believe we will see an array of defensive fronts
