We aren't saying that every person will exceed expectations, but it is just as asinine put Josh Gordon in the same sentence as Charles Rogers as it is Jerry Rice... Best season ever: Jerry Rice: 122 catches, 1848 yards 15 TDs Charles Rogers: 22 catches, 243 yards 3 TDs Josh Gordon: 87 catches, 1646 yards 9 TDs So in your statement, Gordon more closely resembles Jerry Rice than Charles Rogers...Thus his "potential" is MUCH MUCH higher and proves TDs statement more correct than your rant.
No the point is I can use the word "potential" on any given player....Rogers had HUGE potential and did nothing....a guy like Ant Brown had potential and ran away w it....TD is just making crazy statements and uses the word potential 2 cover himself...let Coleman get through a training camp and make a catch before he is anointed this or that

You can't be that naive to say a guy who holds the 4th best receiving yards total his first two years in the league in NFL history, Josh Gordon, doesn't have the potential (there's that word again) to return to form a mere two years later... You also can't be naive to think that potential isn't just a great, possibly greater, for the #15 overall draft pick and first receiver taken in this past year's draft... If that "potential" is even close to being met...doesn't even have to be 100%... Then it is VERY likely they will be among the top tandems in the NFL... DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT SAY THEY WOULD BE THE #1 TANDEM IN THE NFL, THIS OR ANY FUTURE SEASON...

U havnt seen Gordon play in a long time and ur talking bout the #15 pick in the draft....the #1 pick in the draft is a bust a lot of times so why the hope just cause he was #15....havnt u seen guys like T Rich(3), Gilbert(8), Mingo (6), etc not live up 2 their status but now ur counting on a guy that is drafted #15 all of a sudden being one of the tops at his position...I just think its crazy

I have "hope" because I can't even imagine how miserable it is to be as negative as you are on a daily basis...my "hope" drives me everyday, not just about the Browns, but in life in general. If you didn't have hope, why show up to practice just to assume your team will lose? Are you saying that your high school kids don't motivate you to show up every afternoon to work towards winning? All they have is potential, nothing else to go on. They haven't done it yet, they have the potential to do something special... Guys like T Rich(3), Gilbert(8), Mingo (6), etc are all in the past. I cannot even fathom expecting the upcoming season to be determined by what these players did in their past... That is your negativity at it's brightest...
OK I will end this debate cause u will hope, pray and believe just bout anything w the Browns....ur the one who keeps bringing up Coleman being the #15 pick....ur making it sound cause he was selected there he is a shoe in 2 b great and I just pointed out the Browns have been in better position w draft picks and they were really bad....doesnt mean Coleman cant b good or bad, but banking on him 2 b elite is far fetched at this present time....Im always honest w myself and my players....I stated above we can very good cause we have a Sr QB that can lead us but were very young so it will depend on how they grow and react 2 failures
