I have heard a lot of talk from media about the stonehanded WR switching positions, has anyone seen anything legitimate about that?

I know the big kid from Princeton played WR in college, but the Browns list him as TE..... He has good hands though....So I'm sure you are referring to Ricardo Louis as the "stonehands", but I haven't heard anything about him switching positions....

Word is that Ricardo is big and fast, with the ability to separate from defenders, but will frustrate fans with drops....He was highly recruited coming out of high school....

The Browns terminated the contract of LB Scott Solomon and waived WR Saalim Hakim today.

Solomon appeared in four games with Cleveland from 2014-15. Last year, he appeared in two games and recorded one tackle before being placed on injured reserve (knee).

Hakim was signed after participating in the team?s voluntary minicamp on a tryout basis.

    +1

Lip service to keep Robert Griffin honest. He's the starter no if's, and's, or but's. They just don't want to come right out and say it.

Ricardo Louis. Yes, there is some thought -- mostly by the draft media machine -- that he could be a potential cornerback at the next level. Runs sloppy routes, has bad hands, but offers great speed (4.43 40 time) and size (6'2" 215 pounds).

It reminds a lot of Greg Little, unfortunately.

I just can't see a position switch at this point in the game and thus far, the Browns new regime hasn't been bucking conventional wisdom much.

  8. The draft is a crap shoot at best, take a shot and let it rip. Take the Rams and Browns for example. The Rams thought they had to make a move on a QB, right or wrong, they gave up the farm and had just 5 more picks in the draft + owe #s 1 & 3 next year. The Browns did the opposite and traded down and had at the end I believe 14 or 16 picks. Is the right or wrong, the answer can't be figured out for 3 years really. Potential, WTF does that mean really, they all do. I don't give a crap what Kiper thinks is good, just that the Rams and Browns win. So if from Berea to LA or Brown to Snead or Jackson to Fisher, they like their draft, fine show me the next few years. For the Browns drafts I like a several players, I think they missed on a few also, Scooby was a great last pickup. I guess I have to like Goffs for the Rams, but the the Pharoh Cooper and Tyler Higbee picks I like even better. That is if Higbee isn't in jail. So we just hope it works out and helps the Browns and Rams get over the top *DRINK*

I have to honest. The hours and days after every NFL draft crack me up.

Draft gurus, talking heads by the droves and every person with an internet connection ramble on and on ad nausium about how player "A" was a reach or player "B" was a steal.

Every one of these people had an OPINION of where a certain player should be drafted. The fact that that player was drafted before or after that spot is simply an indication of their opinion.

NFL teams also rank players based on that team's opinion. The difference is that these teams have a hell of a lot more information on which to base that opinion.

The ONLY way to measure the impact of ANY team's draft is to see how the players they drafted fair 2 to 3 years down the road.

Meh :-* .......What's wrong with getting excited about the draft and forming opinions?

Obviously we cant measure the "impact of the draft" until a couple years down the road...??.

I guess I can't speak for all, but I appreciate people that get excited about the NFL draft, and aren't afraid to let their opinions be known.....Right or wrong, it's all fun.

appreciate the "heads up" on NFL teams having better info though...that was nice.

Your Rams made a bold move BPP....If Goff is for real, it was a great move. If not, it's going to be a crushing gut punch to the franchise. Personally, I think Wentz was the guy they should have taken at #1, but only time will tell...L.A. has been building the solid foundation with all those picks from the Redskins in the RG3 deal a few years back, so I think the timing was right to go for the QB this year.....and I loved the Pharoh Cooper pick, as he was one of my favorite WR's in this draft....They wanted to make a splash in their big return to the west coast, and they did....

QB's are ALWAYS a gamble....Good luck to the Rams.

Then whatever you do, do not read this guy's post:

Other than one (1) comment about Ifo in the seventh round, please point out where THAT guy's post mentioned anything about any of the draftees getting drafted too high or too low.

    I'll wait . . . .

I'll say again, what's wrong with studying up on the top potential draft picks, forming opinions and discussing them on a chat site that we have been discussing the draft on since before our regular season even ended? Since ESPN started showing it on TV in 1980, I've watched every draft. It's like a life long hobby for me....Mel Kiper has made a living off of it. It used to be, he was the only one (amateur) that voiced his opinions. He had all the draft guides on the magazine racks and that was about all ya had to go on...But now, you can get pretty in depth with your research. Obviously you can't do what the teams can, but there is a lot of information available....I trust that is why you don't like when us "amateurs" question the pros....I get that to some extent, but even the pros get it wrong half the time, and that's WITH the vast resources the novice's like myself could only dream of...Hell, the Cleveland Browns have been a prime example of the "pros" that have come up woefully short on draft day...Why can't we question the selections they make if they seem out of line with projections? Not saying they made bad picks at all, just that we should be aloud to discuss with a raised eye brow perhaps, without offending.....

Not to mention currently the Browns have a business lawyer and a 20 year baseball front office guy calling all the shots.....If there was ever a draft open for interesting discussion, I'd think it would be this one in particular...Though I gotta admit, I'm REALLY intrigued by what most perceived as the big surprise picks , with our QB prospect and the big kid from Princeton.....The more I study Cody Kessler, the more I like that pick quite honestly. Not sure why he wasn't projected higher or discussed more as a real possibility here...

Draftniks are just a different breed Lyman. When you spend as much time as I do studying up on these prospects, it's difficult not to be a bit opinionated..at the end of the day, we are all just assessing value and guessing who fits where the best.....Same as the pros.

I will say this...The more I research the players selected by the Browns, the more I like their draft, and understand that they had a clear plan of attack....With what they have added, and the picks accumulated for future drafts, it's hard for me not to be excited about what the future holds...

I love how Hue just said about Corey Coleman, "he was brought here to score touchdowns."....simple and to the point.....refreshing....He communicates much better than most coaches it seems. At least, that's my early impression...

Either you missed my point or I didn't make my point very clear. There is absolutely nothing wrong with trying to learn as much as possible about potential future players in the NFL. I even wish I had the time and inclination to do so myself. But I don't . . . at least not to the degree that you and Irish do . . . and I applaud those who do simply because of the time, passion and dedication it must take.

I never said I don't like it when amateurs question the pros. I said, "it cracks me up". Big difference. To be more precise . . . it cracks me up when people (Pundits, Talking Heads and Amateurs alike) start throwing around "reaches" and "steals".

Every NFL team has their own draft board. I would SUSPECT that throughout the entire league, many of the potential draftees are ranked similarly on every one of these 32 boards. But I also SUSPECT that there are more differences than similarities among these 32 draft boards. So, if a team (any team) selects a player at a specific draft slot, it's because it was that teams OPINION that's where they should select that player.

Never said that a Browns' decision to draft a certain player can't be questioned. Hell, I've done it many times. And, in my opinion, some of the past decisions made by the Browns certainly should have been questioned. Not for where they picked a player, rather that the player was picked at all.

I'm all for on-going discussion about the merits (or lack thereof) of a drafted player. Irish just posted on the WR thread a very detailed post about the incoming class of WR's drafted by the Browns. It was an excellent post and has already started discussions about each one of them.

I'll go out on a limb here though and say even you get pissed when someone just posts, "so and so just sucks" without giving any reason why they think they suck. ;)

Of course you will form an opinion. Why else would you spend the time to do the research? But, again, the REAL VALUE of any pick can't be determined before a player even steps on the practice field.

    Agreed 100%

My favorite (Browns) quote from the draft was from Corey Coleman himself when asked about his size. "If size mattered, then the elephant would be king of the jungle."
