IMHO I think this should be the pick... While not a great pass rusher, but would definitely help with solidifying the run D *DRINK*
I would draft Treadwell now Stopper. He is a playmaker at the position of need. Plus I'm done with Gordon and he is a tall WR. He and Pryor would give us 2 big, physical wide receivers. Just hope Pryor has worked on his routes and hands because he has the speed. I guess now it depends on what they want to build first. On offense they need... RT WR QB On defense they need ILB OLB CB SS FS There is DE depth in this draft.
I love the trade, and I doubt they are done trading down...The scenario that Irish put out with the Titans is a REAL possibility IMO....Especially if Tunsil or Stanley are still on the board at #8.... Things are just starting to get interesting.....Nice work so far by the Harvard crew.
Stanley will b there...btw, why are people making this out like a bigger deal just cause these guys are "smart"....were people going this crazy when they traded w Atl? I'm just asking mayb people were going bonkers
Why even pretend like you EVER like anything this team EVER does??? for the record, the Falcon trade sucked ass....We didn't get close to the value we should have....Irish and I have argued that one for years. For some reason, he was okay with that move, but I'd say most Browns fans were not pleased.... And who's going "bonkers" anyway?? It's a week before the draft and your supposed favorite team just made a huge move in the rebuild effort....If that doesn't fire you up a bit, you should pick a new sport or something
Why wuld I get fired up or anybody 4 that matter...hell if they drafted Ramsey I wuldnt b fired up until I saw him do something in the NFL
like clockwork.... I don't care if your first reaction is always to piss all over everything....You are jaded. I get it. And in your defense, they haven't done much to get excited about the last 16 years....I grant ya that.... But this is a new era....You can't hold the Harvard boys responsible for past fails.... And some people REALLY like the draft...It is a time for optimism....Not your never ending negative nancy crap.... We all understand that we need results on the field.....
Harvard Boys? Ur making it out like their just outsmarting everyone...I'm sure people went crazy over Holmgren the same way or how bout Policy and his SF crew? I love the draft but not just because of the Browns but the process in general
lol! I love the draft too SS! Hence, the excitement.....and I'm not making anything out, you goof......WE are the only franchise in the history of sports that has all it's top decision makers from Harvard...Kind of an unusual thing...That's why I'm calling them that. It's a very unique situation...How can you be that oblivious? and just for the record, Harvard grads ARE smarter than most people.....That's why they've had just as many U.S. presidents as NFL draft picks....Not everybody gets to go there.
My .02. I like the trade. Im not worried about the past fails of previous GMs, presidents, coaches, etc. The Browns got good value, more value than the Eagles received. I still think there is going to be a trade down from 8. I would also look for the team to try and flip a mid-round pick this year for a higher round pick next year.
Obviously our front office has a plan. I love the trade. It just seems like we are missing too many parts right now. Time will tell whether or not the Philly trade was good move. We've passed on QB's in the past that still haunt us. If Wentz turns out to be great, who knows? A lot depends on what Cleveland does with it's choices, but we all know that if Wentz goes on to win multiple SB's, the Browns will likely be ripped for this move.... I don't think they are done trading by a long shot. I expect DePodesta to be moving all around in his efforts to maximize picks and value....Last night I saw Charley Casserly already had us moving down to 13, which wouldn't surprise me a bit....The #8 in this draft (now that we know the top 2 picks are QBs) holds a ton of value. We are going to get an opportunity to select a helluva talented player right there, OR we could be willing to move again for the right price....I'm certain we would be willing to move again if another team comes with a future #1....If we are setting up for WR or OT or LB this could be a heck of a draft... A ton of talent in that range. If we wind up doing this, and stacking future #1's , and still coming away with a talent like Darron Lee or Laquon Treadwell or Jack Conklin, how awesome would that be???
I did see an interesting opinion, can't remember where I read it, but the idea was, that the Eagles were gonna REALLY shake up the draft and take Zeke 2nd overall, and the reason they jumped up to number 2, was to get ahead of Dallas, because they caught wind that Dallas had their eye on him. Don't know that I agree with that train of thought, but it did get me thinking.... Wanna see some excitement on the 28th? Rams Take Wentz NOT Goff Eagles Take Zeke NOT a QB Goff falls? Now THAT would be an entertaining draft night! *BRAVO*
I heard that too, but the Eagles GM ended that talk....They will go with whichever QB the Rams don't take...That's a lock.
I have been on every site I can go on to see what the Rams are going to do and got nothing. You would think that the Eagles would want to know first or want to trade with the Rams just to make sure that they get what they want but who knows. I have been looking at a few Eagles sites and it the Rams take Wentz, someone is going to get burned in Philly. They don't want Goff. Right now if I were the Browns, I look at the Titans, they're looking to get back into the top 10 and I know they got picks (shit). I want the Rams to take Wentz at this point and play one of the two QBs at the start of the season anyway. Nothing really wrong with Goff but I like Wentz size better. By the way look at next years draft, QB is another weak class but who knows anything really.
This was seen as a weak class also, this time last year. Wentz was an after thought QB that could rise to the 2nd round...now he's #1-2 overall, but I can't blame teams for jumping on his bandwagon, IMHO, he has all the tools. According to the Eagles GM, whom I saw on NFL Network this morning, they will be happy with either QB and it doesn't matter to them which one the Rams take. If I were the Eagles, I would also rather see the Rams take Goff...his hands are too small for that Philly weather, lol
