REPORTED BY THE EAGLES OFFICIAL TWITTER: The Browns have traded the #2 overall pick!! The Browns receive: 2016; First Round #8 overall, Third Round #77 overall, Fourth Round #100 overall 2017; First Round Draft Pick of the Eagles 2018; Second Round Draft Pick of the Eagles The Eagles receive: 2016 First Round #2 overall, 2017 Fourth Round Draft Pick (edited: from #99 overall in 2016) So, there you go...we can start discussing #8, another trade down, etc...forget all this talk about the QBs that aren't #2 overall worthy to begin with...
Bravo to the new Cleveland regime. I stand corrected. Very well done. Can probably still take Paxton if they like.
With the players dropping to #8, I could see them trading down again if you want my honest opinion. I think there will be players there, that I personally would rather take than trade down again, but if the right offer came, I could see these analytical people doing more to get more picks...
They have been doing this since '99 not sure what u have been watching...if Goff was their guy it was unfortunate the Rams moved up
AP The Browns have a lot of picks now. But they?ve had a lot of picks after a bold trade down before, and none of them are still Browns. Wednesday?s deal that sent the second pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to the Eagles for a package of picks that includes Philadelphia?s 2017 first-rounder and 2018 second-rounder gives Cleveland a total of 12 picks this year. It?s reminiscent of the 2011 deal with the Falcons, who were as desperate for wide receiver Julio Jones as the Eagles were for a quarterback. The Browns got Atlanta?s first, second and fourth-rounders in 2011, plus their first and fourth in 2012 in that deal. They turned those picks into (hold your breath, or your nose) nose tackle Phil Taylor, wide receiver Greg Little, quarterback Brandon Weeden and running back Trent Richardson (using the fourth to move up a spot to get Richardson third overall). So before we congratulate Sashi Brown and Paul DePodesta and Hue Jackson for swindling the quarterback-desperate Eagles, let?s make sure they actually pick guys who can play football first. They?ll certainly have the opportunity, as the Browns now own six of the top 100 picks. They have their new first (eighth), second (32nd), two thirds (65th and 77th), three fourths (99th, 100th, 138th), three fifths (141st, 172nd, 173rd), a sixth (176th) and a seventh (223rd). That?s a lot of lottery tickets. But the Browns have squandered money on lottery tickets before, and are still looking for a quarterback.
Different people making these picks Stopper...If they are as terrible as past regimes, it won't matter if they have 3 picks or 20...either get on board or move along...the ones picking since 1999 have already moved on..
Goff isn't available. Next best thing is to move down and get picks. Taking Wentz at 2 would have been very risky.
Something tells me they're not done yet. Which team between picks 9 and 31 needs an All-Pro Left Tackle?
Titans at #15...move down to #15 from #1 where they were originally taking Laremy Tunsil End up trading back into the top ten(which they are reportedly exploring) still get Laremy Tunsil, plus multiple extra draft picks, including the Rams 2017 first rounder...
There were plenty of people making the picks btwn '99 and 2015...I understand what ur saying but not sure if the right people are in place 2 make these decisions
I agree...we won't know for a few years...I am HOPING AND PRAYING, this is the group of men to finally make some significant draft picks...If they are not, then it doesn't matter how many draft picks we trade for or away, they won't make good picks, so it won't matter anyway.
Great move Brownies, wish the Rams had the brains. Make the best use of the picks please. Interesting week.
The brain trust is apparently pretty good at strategy. Can they pick and sign players that matter. Different skill set, where interpersonal fluency and empathy make a difference, Which of our PHDs leads that charge? I expected this group to be good at the strategy game, now it's time to stand up and be counted in making choices and team "building" with real men.
