Turner wuld give the ball to E. Smith 25-35 times a game....tuff way to call a game when u have the best RB on ur team....then he wuld hand it off to LT 25-35 times a game...u see a trend here....I dont think hes some genius but those guys made him look good...how good was his offense once LT left? As for Horton, I highly doubt he was the best option as DC...he just happened to run a 3-4 defense and was available which is what this new regime wanted. As for Sheard, hes never played the position and now hes gonna learn it on the run.....I think he will b traded at deadline if Mingo is ready.
Smith actually averaged 20.3 carries per game under Norv, which was quite average in the 1990's before the running back by committee approach Tomlinson actually averaged 17.8 carries per game under Norv... The same as always, you don't know what the hell you are talking about...research has been suggested to you in the past, yet you continue to "claim" you know about this game and reality hits once you start typing on your keyboard... When LT left, which was in 2011, the offense was #6 overall in the NFL...The year after that they were #20 admittadly, which was one time out of four in his 22 year career of finishing as a top 20 offense, never lower than 24th... Are you suggesting there are no extenuating circumstances that would cause a season every now and then to go south? Only to rebound, again historically speaking, to becoming one of the best IN THE NFL once again...with or without Smith or Tomlinson. Which only accounted for 11 of his 22 years as an OC or HC. Years without them, he still managed teams that were ranked between 8-15 regularly Now, he comes into a situation where he has the #3 overall draft pick Trent Richardson to work with. With injuries that would sideline a normal RB, he managed 950 yards rushing and 11 TDs in Shurmur's pedestrian offense. What argument do you have that Turner won't come in here and improve his game to the status of the two RBs you are arguing about made his career? Well THAT ^^^certainly is based on opinion, which a) doesn't mesh with any expert pre-season that has gone on record. Every report given about coaching vacancies pointed to Ray Horton as the premier DC on the market IF, and it was a big if, he did not get a HC position. b) you have really proven beyond a shadow of doubt, your opinion doesn't amount to more than a pebble of a mouse's turd. You don't have any basis to your opinions...well...ever... You know who else never played the position? Mingo...Which if it were anyone else I were debating would hurt my argument...The point is, the scheme and athleticism make the difference. In 2012 the scheme allowed 5 players to have 4 or more sacks and 6 others to record at least 1. Daryl Washington was the sack leader with 9 ...HE played primarily out of the ILB position.. In 2011 the scheme allowed 4 players to have 4 or more sacks and 10 others(yes that is TEN others) recorded at least 1. Calais Campbell was the leader on that squad with 8 from the DE position... The point I am making (not opinion) is that Horton's scheme utilizes many moving parts to make it hum. Sheard is not going any where, because he will be one of those moving parts... It doesn't mean any one of these players will wind up in Canton, but it does point to a defensive coordinator which is well above capable of making this defense top ten...without making an individual a household name. Outside of Arizona and die hard NFL circles, would the average fan know Daryl Washington?
Damn Irish, lol! (Puts on referee's stripes) There are 2 fouls on the play. Piling on. That penalty is declined. Unnecessary roughness. That penalty is accepted. 15 yards, 1st down!
Yes, that's exactly what he'll do.... how many rookies do that EVERY DAMN YEAR?!?!? Seriously, you act like Sheard is the only player to ever be converted from a DE to an OLB... they're not asking the guy to play WR!!! Every scouting report I read on the guy the year he was drafted projects him to move to OLB in a 3-4 defense, but for some reason, you think the guy is incapable?
There's a giant hole called the Devil's Kettle that swallows half a river and no one has any idea where it goes. Over the years, Researchers and the curious have poured dye, ping pong balls and logs into the kettle, and then searched for any sign of their re-appearance. So far - none have ever been found. Let's throw Showstopper in there. :|
That's why I loved being in his mock for all those years. So nice to talk the game with someone who knows his stuff

The NFL previously has said there?s no plan in place for dealing with the ownership of the Browns if Jimmy Haslam faces federal fraud charges. But the NFL always has a plan, even for stuff that doesn?t really need a plan. According to Daniel Kaplan of SportsBusiness Journal, Haslam?s father, Jim, would take over the Browns, if Jimmy Haslam is forced to step down. It?s not clear what would prompt Jimmy Haslam to step aside, and Kaplan says there?s no immediate plan for a transition in power. At a minimum, an indictment could prompt the Pilot Flying J CEO to hand the reins to the man who founded the billion-dollar company now embroiled in scandal, even though Jim Haslam has had no role in the scam that has resulted in seven guilty pleas, and counting. ?We are not commenting on any potential scenarios,? NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told Kaplan. Which is a lot more telling than the league?s prior position that there are no scenarios other than ?business as usual.? Though the Browns are doing their best to project a business-as-usual vibe, there?s nothing usual about having an owner who could be indicted by a grand jury, pretty much at any time.
Johnny wanted to have sex with a girl in his office, But she belonged to someone else? One day, Johnny got so frustrated that he went up to her and said, ?I?ll give you a $100 if you let me have sex with you. But the girl said NO. Johnny said, ?I?ll be fast. I?ll throw the money on the floor, you bend down, and I?ll be finished by the time you pick it up. ? She thought for a moment and said that she would have to consult her boyfriend? So she called her boyfriend and told him the story. Her boyfriend says, ?Ask him for $200, pick up the money very fast, he won?t even be able to get his Pants down.? ... So she agrees and accepts the proposal. Half an hour goes by, and the boyfriend is waiting for his girlfriend to call. Finally, after 45 minutes, the boyfriend calls and asks what happened. She responded, ?The bastard used coins!? Management lesson: Always consider a business proposal in its entirety before agreeing to it or risk getting screwed an uncountable times!
Ya over 20 carries/game plus receptions is about 25-35/game...please dont compare LT w T-Rich....another dumb comment and we will see how Sheard does......like I said IMO he will b gone by deadline if Mingo is ready.
And yet again the back-track and sidestep. There is quite the difference between a hand-off and a touch. Stopper, do you even remember what you've argued previously? Is there any connection between what's between your ears and what comes out your mouth? Or does it all just rattle around until something stupid comes out"?
As has been the case, the Browns TV announcers get old mid-way through the first quarter. Listening to the hometown guys on the radio is always a bit more enjoyable. 1 Comment We know that in many seasons' past, the Browns draw the bottom-rung of the TV announcers from FOX and CBS. As has been the case - and Twitter appears to echo these sentiments - the announcers get annoying mid-way through the first quarter. Most often, listening to the hometown guys on the radio while watching the game on TV is always a bit more enjoyable and preferable. Who wants to hear Dick Stockton and Ronde Barber butcher Chris Ogbonnaya's name, when you have Jim Donovan and Doug Dieken joining you in getting fired up that Ogbonnaya's 8-yard reception gave the Browns a much-needed first down? Actually from 2007-2009 (the only years Turner was with LT in SD) LT avg 18 carries per game, and 3 rec per game... so he actually only avg. 21 touches per game.... don't you ever get tired of sounding stupid? Not to mention it's really not that crazy of a comparison.... LT's Rookie year - 339 att 1,236 yds 3.6 avg 10 rushing TD's 5 fumbles (4 lost) 59 rec 367 yds 6.2 avg 0 rec TD's 3 Fumbles (1 lost) Trent Richardson's Rookie Year 267 att 950 yds 3.6 avg 11 Rushing TD's 3 Fumbles (0 Lost) 51 rec 367 yds 7.2 avg 1 Rec TD He seems to be right on par (in fact, more TD's, less fumbles, same rushing avg, higher yards per reception) maybe even slightly better in year one. Horton likes keeping the OLB's fresh, and rotating guys in.... Sheard projected to be an OLB coming out of college!!! Please, PLEASE think before you type Stopper, you really just make yourself look less and less credible and intelligent everytime you post stuff like this!!!
Browns RG Shawn Lauvao was carted off the field with an ankle injury during Monday's training camp practice. Lauvao's leg buckled in a one-on-one pass-rush drill versus NT Phil Taylor. Lauvao had been running as the first-team right guard throughout camp, but the injury now opens the door for starter-turned-backup Jason Pinkston.
