I appreciate you giving your take, but it really doesn't make sense to me....How can you see Myles Jack as "worthy all day" at #2 for Cleveland, but Lee isn't even a first rounder?? I don't understand that at all...

Geez SAS...what happened to the Ohio State homerism here?

  2. There is no way they can go QB w #2 pick...this wuld put them in the exact same scenario as Hoyer and Manziel

Except for the fact Griffin is MILES better than Hoyer and because of Manziel's immaturity, either Goff or Wentz would be a better pro on day one.

I don't think there is really any comparison..

lol! C'mon SAS....I'm sure that highlight will make the rounds on ESPN, but I don't think that's fair.....At least he didn't draw his arm back and throw it forward without the ball even in his hand, which btw is something I've seen virtually every QB do at some point....It happens. Let's not blow it out of proportion....Now nobody will want to workout for the Browns because they fear Pep and his little water bottle...lol!

  5. Miles better? Based on what?

You can't be serious? Physically, not close...Griffin can actually read defenses, despite what some say. He can make every professional throw..Really the only thing I am worried about is his health. It hampered him for two years of his four thus far, causing him to lose his starting job in the 4th year.

Please don't start again with the Hoyer is the best QB the Browns have had bit...

On what level is Hoyer an equal to Griffin? I think the onus is on you to prove my statement otherwise.

  7. Believe me I'm not a Hoyer fan one bit but Griffin is a shell of himself

TD, I love Myles Jack. But not an LB alive who can consistently handle Gronk one-on-one.

Turn on any Redskins tape outside his rookie year. Not sure where you see Griffin reading defenses. I haven't seen it.
What Griffin gains in pure athleticism/arm talent in this argument he loses in football IQ and leadership.

The thing I keep coming back to where the Browns are concerned is what difference does the QB make; who is QB A or B supposed to throw to?? Peyton Manning in his prime would be about 16th best in the league with that WR corps.

    Hey, just sayin'.

My boy Goff has taken a ton of heat for his hand size, but handled the wet ball like a pro (I think his first toss was a 45 yard strike).

Wentz, on the other hand, couldn't throw it at all, despite shaking it off multiple times and starting with a nearly dry hand.

If there are any concerns, it has to be with Wentz who played his entire career in a dome, threw less than 600 pass attempts in his career, and couldn't handle a wet ball.

Then you haven't watched much tape...He clearly makes pre-snap reads, adjusts to multiple options post snap, etc. Brian Hoyer was not a novice at this, but he was never a genius when it came to it either. Even outside of his rookie season, he has still played above average in a system that did not adapt to his skill set. In 2013, they called plays for him not to get hurt. Then in 2014, new coach, new system and they didn't even want him. They did everything in their power to make him fail so that they could switch to Cousins with good reasons, yet he still performed at or above average QB play.

Given a system that plays to his strengths and a coaching staff that actually wants him, I could see him returning to rookie production and better.

I can't argue the leadership knock. He was dealt a bad hand and from an outside perception, he didn't handle it very well.

But for football IQ, he has always been lauded as having a high football IQ, not sure where that is coming from.

He sometimes leaves the pocket too early, so you could criticize his pocket awareness...I don't think he is perfect by any means...

But to say he LOSES points to Hoyer because of IQ and leadership is not taking into account Hoyers lack of football IQ, if you are talking pocket presence and what not. I do think his leadership skills were questioned when he secluded himself from Manziel...so that argument is moot as far as I am concerned.

Again, I will respectfully disagree, Manning MADE receivers. What WR that played with Manning left Indy and/or Denver and was a great receiver away from him?

The WR corps is downtrodden at the moment, I'm not disagreeing there. But I think the players on ANY team will be good/bad for a number of reasons...The most important to me is coaching. I think we have some good coaches in place to get the most out of our players.

If Josh Gordon does come back and we draft a WR at #32, then this receiving corps could be looking a lot better in 2016...

    Josh Gordon
    Will Fuller/Josh Doctson
    Andrew Hawkins
    Gary Barnidge

If those things happen, I wouldn't call it a talentless squad..

Handle Gronk? All I said is there isn't a TE in the league that can run away from them....That includes Gronk. He's a monster and he might break the tackle with sheer strength, but he's not faster than Lee or Jack...

What would adequate trade terms be?:

    1) How far down would you be willing to go?
    2) What would compensation need to be for your scenario?

Would anyone be willing to trade down with the 49ers so they can get their QB?
I'm thinking #7, #37 and 2017 First Round Draft Pick...Would that do it for you guys?

Or stay where you are and take, who? and why?

I would sure be tempted to pull the trigger on that SF trade...But in reality, I don't see SF doig that....If there is really a trade partner out there for Cleveland that wants to make a big splash, it's gotta be the LA Rams...And why not? They are moving across the country to their old stomping grounds....They are doing HBO's Hard Knocks this season......Why not make the "big move" on draft day for QB? I'm REALLY starting to believe that is what Sashi and company want. They want to stock up on draft picks, and with a big need and 2 second round picks this year, the Rams seem like the most likely candidate....Of course a drop down that far is going to be expensive....I'd say 1.15, 2.13, 2.15 and next year's first rounder is a good place to start the negotiations....

  15. TopDawg Legend

another thing about moving down to #15....Paxton Lynch could still be in play. Most don't think he's going to make it to rd 2....just saying.

That's the beauty of the RG3 signing.....The draft got a lot more interesting, and as usual the first Browns pick seems like the pivotal point of the whole thing. lol! Well, I guess they didn't feature Cleveland in the Draft Day movie for nothin....

  16. That was my trade proposal w St Louis....get #15, 43, 45 and next yrs 2nd round also add Thomas in that mix w SD at pick #35

Wait, so let me just soak this in...You would trade from #2 overall...all the way down to #15 overall, and NOT get a future first round pick in the deal?

Weren't you ridiculing the Browns a short two years ago for trading back from #4 to #9...and they at least got a future first out of the deal..

Then you give a 9 time pro bowler, 6 time 1st team All Pro, 2 time 2nd team All Pro, away for a 2nd round draft pick??

Yeah, you'd make a great GM...

  20. Nope wrong person and yes give me pick #35 for all those irrelevant honors u just posted w Thomas...hes a loser in the win/lose record and on his downside...what u want a top 10 pick for Thomas and no I dont need a future #1 pick cause I wuld b getting 4 of the top 45 picks in a very deep and talented draft...u saying u wuld hold out 4 a #1 pick on Thomas instead of getting something for him when ur not gonna win anyways w him....no thanks all world GM
