A teacher asks her class, "If there are 5 birds sitting on a fence and you shoot one of them, how many will be left?"

    She calls on little JOHNNY.

He replies, "None, they will all fly away with the first gunshot."
    ...
The teacher replies, "The correct answer is 4, but I like your thinking."

Then little JOHNNY says, "I have a question for YOU. There are 3 women sitting on a bench having ice cream:

One is delicately licking the sides of the triple scoop of ice cream.
The second is gobbling down the top and sucking the cone.
The third is biting off the top of the ice cream.
    Which one is married?"

The teacher, blushing a great deal, replied, "Well, I suppose the one that's gobbled down the top and sucked the cone."

To which Little JOHNNY replied, "The correct answer is 'the one with the Wedding ring on," but I like your thinking."

For years, the Browns have celebrated the Dawg Pound persona.

This year, they will officially go to the dogs.

As part of efforts to help modernize and personalize the fan experience, the Browns are rolling out a number of new initiatives, including bringing actual canines onto the field.

According to Will Burge of ESPNCleveland.com, there will be actual weiner dog races at Browns games this year.

The idea is apparently the brainchild of Kevin Griffin, the team?s new vice president of fan experience and marketing (and the nephew of Ohio State legend Archie Griffin). Griffin worked with the Seahawks and the Seattle Sounders, and apparently the dachsund dashes were a hit there.

That?s just one of the events they have in store, as they hope to modernize player introductions, and have other events to engage fans.

But weiner dogs, gang. If they can find a way to get Barkevious Mingo involved in this promotion, somebody needs to get a raise.

The Browns officially kick off their first training camp under Rob Chudzinski and staff on Thursday, July 25. We are taking a look at the players currently on the roster going to training camp. The third position we take a look at is the wide receiver position.

Wide Receivers?Josh Gordon, Greg Little, Davone Bess, David Nelson, Travis Benjamin, Jordan Norwood, Josh Cooper, Tori Gurley, Keenan Davis, Cordell Roberson, Mike Edwards and Dominique Croom.

The Browns receiving corps appears to be in much better shape than it has been in the recent past. Part of the improvement has been with the improvement of the young receivers. Gordon, Little and Benjamin all look to have made significant progress during the off-season. Benjamin was very impressive during the OTAs and minicamp.

The additions of Bess and Nelson could have the biggest impact on the receivers. Bess should fill the third down role better than any receiver the Browns have had since Joe Jurevicius was the go to guy on third downs in 2007.

Nelson didn?t take part in the minicamp, but if he can come back healthy from the ACL injury, he could be the starter opposite of Little to start the season in the wake of Gordon?s suspension.

Gordon (6-3, 225, 22, 2nd year)? After a promising rookie season, big things are expected out of Gordon in Norv Turner?s offensive system. However, a two-game suspension to start the season imposed by the NFL will not allow Gordon to get off to a fast start.

Gordon displayed his big play ability in 2012 as he caught 50 passes for 805 yards, including five touchdowns. His yardage total was the third best among all NFL rookies and he averaged 16.1 yards a catch. He is the downfield threat that the Browns offense is designed for.

Little (6-2, 220, 24, 3rd year)?Little had his second-straight productive season, but seemed to play better in the second half of last season. He led the Browns with 53 receptions for 647 yards and four touchdowns in 2012 after having 61 catches for 709 yards as a rookie.

The Browns are counting on Little to emerge in his third season as a key part of the Browns offense.

Bess (5-10, 195, 27, 6th year)? Bess joined the Browns in a draft day trade in April and should be the Browns third down receiver. He has been a very productive receiver in the NFL over the past four years while with the Dolphins. He has caught 267 passes since 2009, which is the 14th most productive receiver in the NFL in that time span. He might have been the biggest addition the Browns made to their offense, in terms of personnel, this past off-season.

Nelson (6-5, 215, 26, 4th year)? Nelson had just broke into the starting lineup to start the 2012 season after a breakout year in 2011 with the Bills when he caught 61 passes for 658 yards with five touchdowns. Nelson had caught 94 passes for 1,042 yards, including eight touchdowns in his three seasons in Buffalo.

However, Nelson tore his ACL in the season-opener against the Jets and has been rehabbing the knee ever since. Nelson signed as an unrestricted free agent during the off-season, but was not able to take part in OTAs and minicamp. He is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

Benjamin (5-10, 175, 23, 2nd year)?Benjamin caught just 18 passes for 298 yards as a rookie, but definitely showed his game-breaking ability. His 16.6-yard average was the best on the team. He had a 69-yard reception for a touchdown against the Redskins and broke a 93-yard punt return for a touchdown, setting a new Browns record. Benjamin also rushed for 66 yards on just six carries.

Norwood (5-11,180, 26, 3rd year)?Norwood played in just two games through the first five games in 2012 until he was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury for the final 11 games. After being inactive for the first three games, Norwood caught four passes for 56 yards in his first action against the Ravens. He followed that with a career best of nine receptions against the Giants for 81 yards. Norwood had his best season in 2011 with 23 receptions in 14 games for 268 yards and a touchdown.

Norwood has shown he can be productive in the slot on third down, but has had trouble staying on the field. With the addition of Bess and Nelson, Norwood needs a big preseason to make the team.

Cooper (5-10, 190, 24, 2nd year)?Cooper had an impressive training camp and was able to land on the practice squad as an undrafted free agent rookie in 2012. After spending the first five weeks on the practice squad, Cooper was elevated to the 53-man roster and caught eight passes for 106 yards in the six games he was active.

Cooper will have a battle with Norwood to make the team, but the suspension to Gordon will help his cause.

Gurley (6-4, 230, 25, 1st year)? Gurley originally was signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2011, where he spent the season on the practice squad. In 2012, he bounced around on several team?s practice squads, including the Vikings and Chargers. He also spent some time with the Ravens. He has potential, but is still considered a rookie. He will battle Davis, Roberson, Edwards and Croom to catch the coaching staff?s eyes during training camp.

Davis (6-2, 220, 22, rookie)? Davis is an undrafted free agent rookie from Iowa. He will battle the other rookies for at least a shot at the practice squad.

Roberson (6-4, 205, 22, rookie)? Roberson is a tall, rangy receiver from Stephen F. Austin, who was signed as an undrafted free agent.

Edwards (5-11, 200, 23, rookie)? Edwards is an undrafted free agent rookie from Texas- El Paso who has been compared to Cooper.

Croom (6-2, 190, 22, rookie)? Croom is one of four undrafted free agent rookies vying for the roster. He played collegiately at Central Arkansas.

Summary: Unlike in previous seasons, the Browns appear to have the potential to be very solid at the receiver position. The additions of Bess and Nelson are the types of veterans that can be good examples for younger players like Gordon, Little, Benjamin and the rest.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. ? A second Denver Broncos executive is facing drunken driving charges, The Associated Press has learned.

Tom Heckert, the Broncos? recently hired director of pro personnel, was arrested in Parker on the night of June 11 and charged with driving under the influence and careless driving, according to the Douglas County Sheriff?s Department.

.The news comes one day after Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell apologized for his arrest over the weekend on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Broncos spokesman Patrick Smyth said the Broncos are aware of this other matter involving Heckert and would provide comment shortly.

A pretrial conference is scheduled for Aug. 30 for Heckert. His lawyer, Harvey Steinberg, wasn?t available for comment.

Broncos Executive Vice President John Elway hired Heckert on May 7. In his new role, he works closely with Elway and Russell, who faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence and careless driving resulting in injury after police said his 2008 Toyota Tundra crashed into a Breckenridge police SUV on Saturday night.

Heckert, who turns 46 on July 17, joined the Broncos after serving as general manager of the Cleveland Browns for the last three seasons. His responsibilities in Denver include scouting current NFL players and will include overseeing the advance scouting for Broncos opponents.

Both Russell, who was hired in 2009 to oversee the Broncos? college scouting department, and Heckert face possible heavy discipline from the team and the league in addition to any legal consequences.

The NFL?s personal conduct policy applies to front office executives as well as players, and Commissioner Roger Goodell has stated he wants to stiffen the penalties for first-offense drunken driving cases.

Penalties could range from stiff fines to suspensions and even banishment from the NFL.

In 2010, Detroit Lions President Tom Lewand was suspended for a month and fined $100,000 by the league after he pleaded guilty to driving while impaired.

Russell was arrested over the weekend after allegedly hitting two vehicles in Summit County in separate crashes, the second of which injured a Breckenridge police officer, who was treated at a hospital and released.

Heckert is entering his 23rd season in the NFL. He started as a scout for the Miami Dolphins in 1991. Before his three-year stint with the Browns beginning in 2010, Heckert spent nine seasons with Philadelphia, including his final four years (2006-09) as the Eagles? general manager.

Three of those seasons (2006-08) were spent working with Russell, who was a college scout for the Eagles during that time.

Heckert?s father, Tom Sr., spent more than 20 years as an NFL player personnel executive.

Amid reports that the NFL and the Browns have a plan in place if owner Jimmy Haslam is indicted, the plan is there is no plan.

According to WEWS-TV in Cleveland, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said there?s ?no plan in place? if Haslam faces formal charges arising from customer rebate fraud at Pilot Flying J, the family-owned company Haslam runs.

ESPN Cleveland has reported that the NFL and the Browns have agreed that Haslam will continue to own the Browns through the legal process, if/when he?s indicted. In contrast, former 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo stepped down once he was indicted on federal charges in 1999.

?We are staying in close contact with the NFL during the investigation,? Pilot Flying J spokesman Tom Ingram told WEWS. ?We expect no change in Mr. Haslam?s relationship with the NFL and/or his ownership of the Browns. Any other statement is unfounded media guessing.?

But Ingram?s statement meshes with the ESPN Cleveland report; if Haslam is indicted, he?ll continue to own the Browns.

Maybe it?s just wishful thinking on Haslam?s part ? and maybe the NFL doesn?t want to commit to anything until it gets a chance to read the indictment, if an indictment comes.

Five Pilot Flying J executives have pleaded guilty in connection with the customer rebate scam. At least one of the guilty pleas states that ?senior management? was aware of the fraudulent conduct. Haslam has at all times denied knowledge of the wrongdoing.

There's a reason Cleveland's decided to hold wiener dog races at home games this year, it's because there's not much else to watch when they're playing.

The Browns haven't had a winning record since 2007 and haven't made the playoffs since 2002. And it's not just bad football, it's been bad, boring football: the Browns offense has ranked 23rd or lower in 13 of the 14 seasons since the rebooted Cleveland franchise started play in 1999. That 14-year total includes four seasons where the Browns ranked dead last in total offense and six seasons where they finished 31st or lower.

Now it's time for the good news Browns fans: that could all change this season with the arrival of Norv Turner as the team's offensive coordinator. Since being hired to run the Dallas Cowboys offense before the 1991 season, Turner has done nothing but turn around offenses in his first year on the job.

From 1991-2006, Turner held six different jobs and in each of those jobs, the team he took over for improved an average of 10.5 spots in its total offensive ranking in Turner's first year. By that math, the Browns would finish 14th or 15th in total offense in 2013, a ranking they've only reached once since 1999.

Turner has been able to orchestrate these offensive turnarounds despite having quarterbacks like Heath Shuler, John Friesz, Jay Fiedler and Kerry Collins under center.

In Cleveland, Turner will have the added benefit of Trent Richardson, who, if he can stay healthy, should take some serious heat off of Brandon Weeden or Jason Campbell or whomever the Browns decide to let run the offense.

Here's a list of what happens in Turner's first year with a team. In all instances except for one -- the 2007 Chargers -- that team's offense improved dramatically. The list also includes the statistics of any quarterback who made a start under Turner in his first-year with a team.

1991 Dallas Cowboys (Offensive Coordinator): Dallas finished ninth overall in total offense after finishing 28th overall (last) in the NFL in 1990.

Troy Aikman (7-5 record): 237-of-363 (65.3 percent) for 2,754 yards, 11 touchdowns, 10 interceptions. In his first year with Turner, Aikman threw for 175 more yards and threw eight less interceptions than he did in 1990.

Steve Beuerlein (4-0): 68-of-137 (49.6 percent) for 909 yards, five touchdowns, two interceptions.

1994 Washington Redskins (Head Coach): Washington finished 17th overall in total offense after finishing 26th overall in the NFL in 1993.

    Heath Shuler (1-7): 120-of-265 (45.3 percent) for 1,658 yards, 10 touchdowns, 12 interceptions. Schuler was a rookie in 1994.

John Friesz (1-3): 105-of-180 (58.3 percent) for 1,266 yards, 10 touchdowns, nine interceptions.

Gus Frerotte (1-3): 46-of-100 (46 percent) for 600 yards, five touchdowns, five interceptions.

2001 San Diego Chargers (OC): San Diego finished 11th overall in total offense after finishing 28th overall in the NFL in 2000.

    Doug Flutie (5-11): 294-of-521 (56.4 percent) for 3,464 yards, 15 touchdowns, 18 interceptions. Hit a career-high in single-season passing yards under Turner.

2002 Miami Dolphins (OC): Miami finished 15th overall in total offense after finishing 21st overall in the NFL in 2001.

Jay Fiedler (7-3): 179-of-292 (61.3 percent) for 2,024 yards, 14 touchdowns, nine interceptions. Highest completion percentage of Fiedler's career in any season where he started two or more games.

Ray Lucas (2-4): 92-of-160 (57.5 percent) for 1,045 yards, four touchdowns, six interceptions.

2004 Oakland Raiders (HC): Oakland finished 17th overall in total offense after finishing 25th overall in the NFL in 2003.

    Kerry Collins (3-10): 289-of-513 (56.3 percent) for 3,495 yards, 21 touchdowns, 20 interceptions.

Rich Gannon (2-1): 41-of-68 (60.3 percent) for 524 yards, three touchdowns, two interceptions.

2006 San Francisco 49ers (OC): San Francisco finished 26th overall in total offense after finishing 30th overall in the NFL in 2005.

    Alex Smith (7-9): 257-of-442 (58.1 percent) for 2,890 yards, 16 touchdowns, 16 interceptions

2007 San Diego Chargers (HC): San Diego finished 20th overall in total offense after finishing fourth overall in the NFL in 2006. Turner didn't improve the offense here, but he did take this team further in the playoffs than Marty Schottenheimer. Schottenheimer's 14-2 Chargers lost in the divisional playoffs in 2006, while Turner's 11-5 Chargers made it to the AFC title game in 2007 .

    Philip Rivers (11-5): 277-of-460 (60.2 percent) for 3,152 yards, 21 touchdowns, 15 interceptions.

The National Football League has made it mandatory for players to wear knee and thigh pads beginning with the upcoming season. Many players, especially at the wide receiver and defensive back positions, have elected not to wear the padding in previous years (such as Seattle?s Sidney Rice and Atlanta?s Asante Samuel, pictured).

Players could expect a hit to their wallets for not conforming to uniform policy stipulations such as shoe and sock color. However, the league plans to take the discipline a step further if players plan to willfully violate the new policy on padding. According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, the NFL will pull a player from the game if they are not complying with the rule changes.

?The more important deterrent, quite frankly, is that player will be removed from the game, and no player wants to miss time on game day,? NFL vice president of football operations Merton Hanks said. ?The coaches certainly have voiced their opinion ? that?s not something they?re willing to tolerate. Can you imagine having a player that you?ve designed a play for not in the game because he?s chosen not to adhere to the padding options that every other player has to adhere to??

Many players have been critical of the new policy. Dallas Cowboys safety Barry Church said having to wear the pads was ?going to stink.? San Diego Chargers linebacker Jarrett Johnson called it ?a P.R. stunt? and Denver Broncos cornerback Quentin Jammer said it was ?dumb.?

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Greg Little steadfastly declared he wouldn?t wear the pads.

Nominal fines haven?t deterred players from violating uniform rules in the past so the league has decided to take away something that matters a bit more ? their playing time. Uniform inspectors will survey the players beginning in pregame activities and will notify the teams if any adjustments need to be made. If a player doesn?t comply with the requests they will be sidelined until they do. Fines are still possible as well for violations.

Ultimately Hanks doesn?t feel it will be a major issue for the players to adjust to the changes.

?We anticipate, quite frankly, minimal action in this regard and would love to be 100-percent,? Hanks said. ?Wearing thigh and knee pads is no different than wearing a helmet and shoulder pads. We won?t allow you to play without a helmet on, either.?

The one thing I didn?t like about the knee pads when I played is that they always fell out of the pocket on the pants and flopped around, and they were hard as rocks and rubbed your knees raw or bruised your own knee when they did stay in. I used to use wrestling/basketball knee pads as they fit better and didn?t restrict movement as much. Plus I could get away with using the POS pads that came with the uniform as weapons of trench / bottom of the pile warfare. :-X ]:->

As much as I agree that Herr Goodell has done about everything he can to alienate many fans with his ?management? style, and feel the NFL could use better leadership. I don?t think the ?pad rule? is that bad of an idea. I can remember taking a few shots back in the day, which would have been more serious if I?d not had the pads on. In today?s day and age where technological advances are made in leaps and bounds. I would hope that by know they?ve developed a set of pads that don?t restrict players movement as much as they used too.

Forbes is reporting that Browns owner Jimmy Haslam III is not being very truthful about his knowledge of the fraud that took place within his company Pilot Flying J. According to Forbes a new class action suit filed was filled that claims Haslam gave the fraud his blessing.

Haslam has continued to say he had no knowledge of the scheme, the new class action filed states Haslam gave his ?blessing? to it. Forbes is also saying, It is looking less and less likely that Haslam will keep the Browns.

Just a short time ago Jimmy Haslam III said he has no intention of selling the team. He said, he plans on keeping the Browns for a very long time. Haslam only has 70% interest in the Browns and Lerner still has 30%.

Haslam was suppose to buy the remaining 30% from Lerner within 3 years. Forbes is saying if Haslam sells the team the price tag would be around $987 million. This has to be a distraction for the team.

We are less than a week from the start of training camp and Haslam is doing a great job of putting up a smoke screen. All his legal issues have to be a concern to him. There is no way he can continue to keep his focus on football.

It is going to be interesting to see if charges get filed against Haslam himself. 5 of his employees have already plead guilty in court to the charges and it is only a matter of time until their stories come out. The Browns officially kick off their first training camp under Rob Chudzinski and staff on Thursday July 25. We will break down each position in the weeks leading up to the start of camp with the players currently on the roster. The fourth position we take a look at is the tight end position.

Tight ends--Jordan Cameron, Kellen Davis, Gary Barnidge, Brad Smelley, Travis Tannahill, Dan Gronkowski

The Browns have several positions that seem to be all but set as the team prepares for the 2013 season. However, tight end is not one of them. The top three at the position seem to be in place, but who will end up as the primary player is still up for grabs. Another possibility is that the position will be played by a committee of all three players.

Cameron is the favorite to be the starter when the season opens, but he has never been in that role. Cameron played behind Ben Watson, who departed via free agency.

Davis and Barnidge were signed as unrestricted free agents and both are expected to push for playing time.

Cameron (6-5, 245, 24, 3rd year) ? Cameron caught 20 passes for 226 yards and one touchdown. His season best was five catches for 45 yards against the Bills. The Browns are hoping he can make the jump to being a starter. He has been plagued with injuries in his young career and had groin and hamstring injuries during minicamp. He certainly has the athleticism with his basketball background and has improved in his blocking skills. When Tom Heckert drafted Cameron, the hope was he would develop into another basketball turned football convert like Jimmy Graham.

Davis (6-7, 265, 27, 6th year) ? Davis had some underwhelming seasons with the Bears, but the Browns think he can be productive with a fresh start. Davis was the first tight end signed as an unrestricted free agent. He has the size to be a big blocking tight end, but had trouble hanging on to passes with the Bears on occasion last year.

Davis was originally drafted by the Bears in the fifth round (158th overall) of the 2008 draft and has not missed a game in his career, having played in all 80 regular season contests with 35 starts. He has registered 47 career receptions for 529 yards with 11 touchdowns. In 2012, he set career-highs in receptions (19) and receiving yards (229), while adding two touchdowns in 15 starts. In 2011, he recorded a career-high five touchdown catches, which tied for sixth-most among NFC tight ends that season.

Barnidge (6-5, 250, 27, 6th year) ? Barnidge joined the Browns with little fanfare as an unrestricted free agent signing from the Panthers where he had little production in five NFL seasons. He had just six receptions for the Panthers in 2012 and has just 18 catches in his first five seasons, including 12 for 242 yards (20.2 avg.) in 2009.

However, Chudzinski saw something in Barnidge while coaching him and he showed some good hands during the off-season program and could be a mild surprise for the Browns. He might be the best all around tight end with regards to blocking and receiving.

Smelley (6-2, 235, 24, 2nd year) ? Smelley spent the first 13 games on the Browns practice squad before being elevated to the 53-man roster for the final three games. He caught one pass for three yards against the Broncos. Smelley was at fullback and tight end in his rookie season, but seems to be settled in at tight end under Chudzinski.

Gronkowski (6-5, 255, 28, 3rd year) ? Gronkowski was in the Browns training camp last season and spent some time on the practice squad.

Tannahill (6-4, 255, 23, rookie) ? Tannahill is an undrafted rookie free agent from Kansas State who will have his work cut out for him to make the roster.

Summary: The Browns need production from the tight end spot with the departure of Watson, who caught 154 passes the past three years with the Browns. Davis has the most receptions of any player on the roster for a season with 19. Chudzinski was a tight end at Miami (Fla.) and spent a good part of his early coaching career as a tight ends coach. He was credited with developing Antonio Gates and Kellen Winslow, among others. The Browns are hoping that Cameron will blossom with Davis and Barnidge providing depth.

  20. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

My wife and I were watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire while we were in bed.
I turned to her and said, 'Do you want to have Sex?'
    'No,' she answered.
I then said, 'Is that your final answer?'

... She didn't even look at me this time, simply saying, 'Yes..'
So I said, "Then I'd like to phone a friend."

And that's when the fight started...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My wife and I were sitting at a table at her high school reunion, and she kept staring at a drunken man swigging his
drink as he sat alone at a nearby table.

I asked her, "Do you know him?"
    "Yes", she sighed,
"He's my old boyfriend. I understand he took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear he
    hasn't been sober since."

"My God!" I said, "Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?"

    And then the fight started...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My wife sat down next to me as I was flipping channels.
    She asked, "What's on TV?"
    I said, "Dust."

    And then the fight started...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday morning I got up early, quietly dressed, made my lunch, and slipped quietly into the garage. I hooked up the
boat up to the van and proceeded to back out into a torrential downpour. The wind was blowing 50 mph, so I pulled back into the garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad all day.

    I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed. I cuddled up to my wife's back;
now with a different anticipation, and whispered, "The weather out there is terrible."

My loving wife of 5 years replied, "And, can you believe my stupid husband is out fishing in that?"

And that's how the fight started...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary.
She said, "I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 150 in about 3 seconds."

I bought her a bathroom scale.

    And then the fight started......

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to apply for Social Security. The woman behind the counter asked me
for my driver's License to verify my age. I looked in my pockets and realized I had left my wallet at home. I told the woman that
I was very sorry, but I would have to go home and come back later.

The woman said, 'Unbutton your shirt'.
So I opened my shirt revealing my curly silver hair.

She said, 'That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me' and she processed my Social Security application.

When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the Social Security office.

She said, 'You should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten disability too.'

    And then the fight started...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My wife was standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror.

She was not happy with what she saw and said to me, "I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you
    to pay me a compliment.'

I replied, "Your eyesight's damn near perfect."

    And then the fight started........
