labama cornerback Dee Milliner won?t be making a trip to Philadelphia, but he could definitely see himself making beautiful music in Cleveland. Milliner told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer he thought he and Browns cornerback Joe Haden would quickly become the best tandem in the NFL. ?I really think we can,? Milliner said. ?Not to be cocky or anything, but I think we?d be two really dynamic players who could go out and do great things for this defense.? Asked if there was a pair that could top them, Milliner couldn?t think of one. ?No, not right now, I don?t think so,? he said. ?Oh man, that would be awesome. I think we?d make a great combo and we?d accomplish some great things together.? Milliner met Haden Monday during a pre-draft visit, a chance to meet someone he played against during Haden?s days at Florida and studied on film since then. ?I study the top cornerbacks in the league to see what techniques I can put into my arsenal,? Milliner. ?I?ve watched film of guys like Champ Bailey, Darrelle Revis, Patrick Peterson and Joe. Joe has great fundamentals and he?s definitely going to be one of the great DBs in the game. I really enjoyed meeting him. I?ve played against him, but have never really gotten a chance to talk to him.? Former Crimson Tide teammate Trent Richardson has also given Milliner a Cleveland sales pitch. The Browns have needs such that taking a corner with the sixth pick is far from a given, but having someone excited about being a Brown, and someone who would solidify a position, is an intriguing thought. This guy wants to be in Cleveland .has our National perception changed ? there for awhile nobody wanted to be here unlike before the move .."kiss my as Modell "where Cleveland was a very attractive destination ..Make it happen in two weeks .
Lately, most of the mock drafts (I look at the mock draft database on HailRedskins.com) have us taking Milliner. I still have a feeling he may be gone by our pick and I have a feeling we'll be trading down and getting a 2nd round pick back.
2013 NFL Draft: Prospects from Cleveland area work out for Browns today By Nate Ulrich Published: April 12, 2013 Fourteen players from the Cleveland area worked out today at the Browns? training facility in front of members of the coaching staff and front office, according to the team?s website. Here is the list of prospects: Tight ends Travis Kelce (Cleveland Heights High School/University of Cincinnati) and Cordale Scott (Glenville/Toledo); defensive backs Mike Edwards (Glenville/Hawaii), Jamel Johnson (Glenville/Louisiana Tech) and Ashante Williams (Mayfield/Illinois); defensive end Justin Staples (Lakewood St. Edward/Illinois); defensive tackle Steve Bigach (Cleveland St. Ignatius/Iowa); inside linebacker Steve Greer (Solon/Virginia); fullback Daniel Molls (Parma Padua/Toledo); center Matthew Mihalik (Gilmour Academy/Virginia); kickers Matt Weller (Twinsburg/Ohio) and Kevin Harper (Mentor/Pittsburgh); running back Jamaine Cooke (Midpark/Youngstown State); and wide receiver Perez Ashford (Shaker Heights/Northern Illinois).
Thanks Lyman, she did finally find the end of stroker ace. Thanks crextin, it is nice to get away from CBS. Rams page was invaded by ex-Yahoo patrons, drama was queen for the day after they arrived. I did see almost everyone came over and bluez, I agree that cbs fbb still rocks, just wish the rest of the site would get stoned.
ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi believes the Browns will trade one of OLB/DE Jabaal Sheard or DE/DT Ahtyba Rubin. Sheard and Rubin aren't believed to be great fits for the new 3-4 scheme, and both players are young and skilled enough to bring back some value. Sheard, 24 next month, has 15.5 sacks in his two seasons. Rubin, 26, goes 6-foot-2 and 330 pounds, and he is strong versus the run with a bit of pass rush skill. The Browns are without a second-round pick, so that's likely the asking price.
they pay people to post on the net . that will never change as long as people have a computer close by . i never had that chance as i was a machinist . the only computer that was close to me was the CNC Mill or Lathe i was running at the time . Tis Sunday and that means Steaks at Desporado's ..legendary steaks from 1:00 to 7:00 pm every Sunday till the snow flies again . they get the beef from a local rancher & meat market .1/12 thick cut strips ....WOOF WOOF WOOF !
Speaking of FBB ..Beach is sending me off to a 0-2 start to the season ..OUCH ..at what time do you panick ? how long do you hold onto high picks who arent producing yet ? some blame the cold weather ?..another reason i am a football guy first & foremost ..sissy basball players cant play in the cold ? gimme a break ..QB'S throw in the wind / rain / sleet / snow and all kinds of elements . man up there pitchers !
Does anyone know anything about the reserve LB we claimed off waivers from Philly? Im just hoping we dont end up with a bunch of Iggles cast offs like when Mangina took over and brought in all his bums (which proceeded to follow Rob Ryan to Dallas, and now even to NO).
Quarterback Colt McCoy refused to say anything bad about the Browns after being traded to San Francisco. But his recent gushing about the 49ers says everything he could about his view of the situation in Cleveland. ?When I walked in the building in San Francisco, it was the same feel [as at UT],? McCoy tells Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. ?It?s a great organization, and their only focus is: We want to win, and we want to win now. That?s obviously different than some of the things that I?ve been part of the last few years. I was really happy about that.? In other words, the Browns don?t have that vibe. And he?s not upset about being gone from Cleveland. In San Francisco, he knows he?ll be the backup. ?That?s my role ? to back up Colin [Kaepernick],? McCoy said. ?We all want to play. I think everybody?s career takes a different path. Ultimately, starting is the goal. But Coach [Jim] Harbaugh and [offensive coordinator Greg] Roman are great offensive minds. There are so many positives there that I?ll go in and learn. I?m in my playbook right now. That?s kind of my job right now ? get familiar with the system, what we?re doing.? As McCoy enters the final year of his rookie deal, a chance to learn from Harbaugh and Roman could help prepare him to go elsewhere and compete for playing time or a starting job in 2014. In a quarterback-starved league, crazier things have happened
he is the Jason Trusnik mode ..hard worker good special teamer who can play in a pinch but you wouldnt want him starting for extended period of time ..good pick up for ILB .
Bluez, I think Colt is an amazing kid with all the character that you could want in a person. I wish that he had Weeden's arm strength. I personally hope for all the best things for him. I don't like his dad, but I won't hold that against him. If we do not make the playoffs I will be pulling for Dawson and McCoy to get their rings.
Same here DVL ..Dawson more then McCoy . his dad & brother need to zip it . i still think he wussed out the last game when we had to start Lewis against the Steelers . he was still having nightmares of running into Harrison with his face . then of course Shurmur wasnt " aware " of the hit . it was right in front of him . i honestly belive him . he was that clueless as to what was going on around him . he wasnt ready to be a HC ..he may never be ready ..another one of Heckerts screw ups . .he was the one who wanted the puppet as HC not the fat man . Where has Heckert landed again ??? Nowhere thats where !
off to a bad start thats for sure . between injuries & high picks not producing . if they dont get it done this week i am kicking the trash to the curb . out of paitience with them .i cant dump Weaver as he is on the cant drop list which i hate . three leagues three losses last week . good thing its a long season . i used to play 6 but i cut back this year . i am doing the same with football this upcoming season ..my two pay leagues stay . i will cut out some of the free leagues i play in .
