You continually prove you are not even a fan of the Browns, just ignorance... You are on here ONLY to get a rise out of people.. Well, I am done with you..post what ever you like, I can just simply not read it..Enjoy your life.
I believe he isn't an addict beach...I've said all along, no one that is subject to up to 4 tests per week can be an addict and not fail test after test... But he is either stupid or doesn't really care much about playing in the NFL. He makes bad choices that are fairly normal for the average American citizen, but he reaps what he sows and he lives in a set of rules if he wants to be a member of the NFL. He needs to follow those rules and has made bad decisions repeatedly. Doesn't matter what I personally think about the rules, they are in place and he either follows, or he must pay the piper.
The good news is that in Madden 15 Johnny Manziel and Josh Gordon are an unstoppable duo. So, we have that going for us. *DRINK*
I think I believe him too. I wonder if he recognizes that if what he says is true, and I think it is, then his poor choices are mostly about choosing the wrong people to hang with. Anyone who was a true friend, would have advised him to pass on the booze, especially if he is unclear on the specifics of his testing. He is right, he "needs" guidance. He needs to partner with someone who makes sure he understands completely what he "has to do" and even more importantly "what he should do". If what he tells us is true, his lack of understanding or close attention to the specifics, lead him to violate once for Codiene, and once again for alchohol. In between he gets tested for Mary J, and is one over and one under, they choose the over, and there you are. Ya gotta be a Boy Scout, Josh. It's not so bad really. The hard part is divorcing yourself from the "friends" who don't have your best interests at heart, and therefore look out for you, not toke around you, or ask if you'd like a drink. I honestly hope Josh is being truthful, and can push himself those last few yards over the hump, cause the guy's got a great talent, and if what he says is true, he has been very unlucky as well as foolish. Good luck Josh.
I understand the criticism to a point, though clearly, it's WAY to far to say, "move the team out of Cleveland"...That's absurd. Nobody wants that, and if ya do, you aren't a Browns fan and never were....That move back in 95 hurt me as bad as anything in sports ever could, and though my team continues to struggle 16 years after being replaced, I am very thankful that we got a team back in Cleveland... We need a quarterback. If we had a player at that position, we would have won the division this season and nobody would be on here bitching about anything...I know it seems like we are the only team that struggles like this to find one, but that's not the case...Many teams in the same boat as us, and others that don't know what they got yet. And still others, like Cincy and Detroit to name a couple, that think they have their answer, but don't.....Take a look at Washington for example. Nobody spends like Dan Snyder. Since Mark Rypien left in the early 90's, you could argue the best QB to come through DC has been Jason Campbell. That's over 20 years....Cleveland may have struggled the most, but they got plenty of company.
Hallelujah TD, at least we aren't paying Andy Dalton $16,000,000 per year, only to play one more game than the Browns do each year...
Professional sports is a hobby. It is here for entertainment. Just like going out to dinner, movies ,playing a guitar whatever. The thing about professional sports is that they represent the city, state or region that they play in! Pro teams can generate money to that city. Whether your talking about jersey's, dining and parking. I know first hand that the Browns came back so fast to start generating money. Money for the NFL and money for Al Lerner. Winning football would of been a bonus. Look at what Al Lerner paid in his bid for this team and 14/15 years later Randy Lerner sold it for. How many winning years was there in that 14/15 years? Not very many! Not only that they have looked terrible in losing. The Lerner owned Cleveland Browns have destroyed the culture and tradition of this once cherished pro football franchise. Most of you blame Modell for this mockery. I don't. I blame the city of Cleveland that didn't give the only winning pro franchise (at that time) the money to build a new stadium. Modell didn't have the money that Lerner had and put a 1000x better team on the field. For DECADES! I am assuming that most of you are older than me. My father like you remember Collins, Hickerson, Warfield, Brown and Mitchell. I don't, I'm not old enough. But all of you are Browns fans because on 1 man. Art Modell! That's why some of you hate him but when he owned this team we won. Then he went to Baltimore and guess what? He won again! What does that or should it tell you about the ownership we have had since him? It's been terrible! Then Haslam comes in with federal charges of ripping off truckers. Then he is making calls to the GM to draft certain players, to play certain players. How has all that worked out. Irish you know more than most, hell most of you do,lol! But to me with a new owner again it is business as usual. Why do I say that? Look at the draft, fellas. Farmer did better with FA draftees than he did with the 1st rd. He did better drafting in the middle of the draft than he did in the 1st rd. So to me, it is business as usual. New owner, new GM still blowing 1st rd draft picks. Why would a 4 win football team trade down? This team needs talent! It was staring Farmer in the face right where we were picking at. It was because of making money. He wanted the Browns to be the talk of the draft and to sell tickets. Why? The fans are tired of the BS, here. We played a very week schedule this year. Next years isn't going to be so easy. We have no right side of the line, we have no pass rushing OLB, we have no run defense, we have no WR's and most important we have no freaking QB! How in the hell can you not fix those problems after 16 years? Do the Browns not hire professionals? Irish you could do a better job Farmer, hell I could. I would of waled out of that 1st rd with Watkins/Evans and Carr. Thats all he would have changed in his game plan of drafting. Then if Hoyer is Hoyer there is Carr, if Gordon F's up again there is Watkins or Evans. Miles Austin was the best this GM could do! What! He then could of done the draft after that his same way. No trade or keep Gordon talk, no is Foles better than Sanchez, Moore or Bradford talk. The culture here hasn't changed! It's still the losing culture. Do you guy's think that GB, Seattle, Denver, Pittsburg or NE would keep Gordon? F#$% no they wouldn't. Why? They have talent that can replace him. They win so FA will take pay cuts to go there. What about Manziel? No they wouldn't! Only a handful of teams would of drafted him anyway and we were one of the suckers that did. So it is business as usual. So the losing will continue. I honestly feel that if this is the best this franchise can do after 16 years then what's the point? The point is to make money for the NFL! They are embarrassing to OHIO! They are the only losers in OHIO and have been for some time now. I am a Browns fan. When they are not on just like any football fan I watch other teams. But this year instead of adding to a 7-9 team we are talking about Manziel and Gordon and who can we get at WR and QB when we passed on 2 good ones last draft! That's continuing a losing culture. Until they fix that this team will always be basement dwellers just like they are now!
Strong Secondary Leads The D Fred Greetham OBR Senior Reporter Three Pro Bowl selections highlights Browns' talent at defensive back (The OBR will do a position-by-position review of each of the Browns positions as the team heads toward the 2015 season. The sixth part will start our look at the defense beginning with the secondary.) Three fourths of the Browns secondary were named to the Pro Bowl, which bodes well for the Browns defense heading to the 2015 season. Joe Haden continues to show he?s one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. As advertised, Donte Whitner brought added toughness to the defense. Tashaun Gipson showed he?s a rising star in the league. The fourth starter in the secondary, Buster Skrine, is set to become an unrestricted free agent. The Browns have tried to replace Skrine, but the scrappy cornerback has held off all challengers. The Browns have to decide if Skrine is valuable enough to not allow him to leave. The Browns traded twice in the top 10 of last year?s draft to select Justin Gilbert to be the shut down corner opposite of Haden. However, Gilbert had a difficult rookie season and he wasn?t able to beat out Skrine, as well as undrafted rookie K?Waun Williams. The Browns are hopeful that Gilbert can still become an elite cornerback, if not serviceable, after showing glimpses of potential, but there?s no guarantee of that and Mike Pettine?s defense is predicated upon having two elite cornerbacks on the outside. Here?s a capsule of the members of the secondary: Joe Haden?Haden was selected for his second-straight Pro Bowl and finished second in the NFL with 20 passes broken up. He finished with 73 tackles, 20 passes broken up, three interceptions and two fumbles recovered. Donte Whitner?Whitner brought a hard-nosed approach to the Browns defense and led the team in tackles with 106. Whitner went to his third-straight Pro Bowl, first with the Browns. Whitner had five passes broken up, an interception and a forced fumble. Tashaun Gipson?Gipson was in the midst of a break out season when he sprained his knee on Nov. 23 in the win over the Falcons when he collided with teammate Joe Haden. At the time of the injury, Gipson was leading the NFL with six interceptions. Even though he missed the final five games, he finished second in the NFL in interceptions. Gipson was selected to his first Pro Bowl, but couldn?t play due to the injury. He finished the season with 52 tackles, eight passes broken up, six interceptions and a forced fumble. He returned one interception 62 yards for a touchdown against the Saints. Gipson is a restricted free agent but the Browns are expected to sign him to a long-term extension. Buster Skrine?Skrine had arguably his best season with the Browns with 66 tackles, 18 passes broken up and four interceptions. He finished eighth in the league in interceptions. The Browns drafted Gilbert with hopes he would win the starting cornerback position opposite of Haden to allow Skrine to move inside to the slot. However, Skrine was able to hold off all challengers and now is slated to be a free agent. The Browns are faced with a big decision on whether to keep him and rely on the young corners behind him. Justin Gilbert? The eighth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft finished the season on the Reserve/Suspended list for the final game for being late for a meeting prior to the final game to finish a disappointing rookie season. Gilbert played in 14 games with two starts and finished with 29 tackles, eight passes broken up and an interception. He returned his interception 23 yards for a touchdown against the Colts. K?Waun Williams? The undrafted free agent rookie became the team?s primary nickel back in 13 games. Williams finished with 31 tackles, eight passes defensed and a sack. Williams didn?t seem to have the problem of transitioning to the NFL as Gilbert did. Pierre Desir?Desir was supposed to be ?red-shirted? in his rookie year from Lindenwood, but was forced into action late in the season when Haden missed a game with a shoulder injury. He played in five games with one start. His start was at left cornerback against the Panthers in Haden?s place and he finished with seven tackles and two passes broken up. Desir finished with nine tackles and two passes broken up. The fourth-round draft choice showed good potential for the future at season?s end. %%MATCH_7%%?Bademosi played in 14 games and is a core special teams player. He led the team in special teams tackles with 15, despite missing two games with a concussion. %%MATCH_10%%?Nelson was a long-shot undrafted rookie free agent to make the team out of training camp. He appeared in seven games as a reserve. %%MATCH_12%%?Leonhard was a valuable addition to the secondary filling in for Gipson at free safety when he went down. Leonhard is planning on retiring after his 10th NFL season. He finished with 35 tackles, three passes broken up, two interceptions and a sack in five starts. Leonhard was used also as a punt returner. %%MATCH_13%%?A core special teams player, like Bademosi, Poyer was second on the team with 13 special team tackles. He played in all 16 games and had nine tackles as a reserve in the defensive backfield. Poyer returned punts and even a kickoff. Summary: The secondary could be the strength of the Browns defense, with Gipson getting better, Haden in his prime and Whitner still playing well. However, Gilbert or Desir must emerge as a top-flight cornerback in time for next season. Desir has a chance to be the cornerback the Browns hoped they drafted in Gilbert. If the Browns retain Skrine, he and Williams can be solid nickel and dime cornerbacks. The Browns will likely need to find a replacement for Leonhard due to retirement. A few of the potential Unrestricted Free Agents are: CB Antonio Cromartie (Cardinals), CB Charles Tillman (Bears), CB %%MATCH_9%% (Bengals). CB Tramon Williams (Packers), CB %%MATCH_15%% (Jets), CB %%MATCH_14%% (49ers), CB Rashean Mathis (Lions), CB %%MATCH_19%% (Steelers), S %%MATCH_8%% (Patriots), Kurt Coleman (Chiefs), %%MATCH_16%% (Colts), S %%MATCH_11%% (Jets), S %%MATCH_17%% (Steelers), S %%MATCH_18%% (Redskins) (Next up: We?ll take a look at the linebackers)

It's official: Browns have hired Kevin O'Connell as QB coach and Kurt Roper as Senior Offensive Assistant. From SportsIllustrated: The Cleveland Browns have hired Kevin O'Connell as their quarterbacks coach, according to a report from Alex Marvez of Fox Sports. The Patriots selected O'Connell in the third round of the 2008 draft. He made appearances in only two regular season games with New England, lost the backup quarterback job to Brian Hoyer and had stints with multiple other teams. O'Connell, 29, also worked with Johnny Manziel prior to the 2014 draft, in which he was selected in the first round. ESPN reported that the Browns didn't consider O'Connell's relationship with Manziel "a huge selling point." In 13 starts for the Browns last season, Hoyer completed 55.3 percent of his passes for 3,326 yards with 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. In two starts last season, Manziel connected on 51.4 percent of his passes for 175 yards. Hoyer is reportedly expected to leave the team in free agency. Marvez also reported that Cleveland has hired Kurt Roper as a senior offensive assistant. Roper previously served as the offensive coordinator at Florida and Duke.
The Browns also hired Joker Phillips as WR Coach . he was coaching at Kentucky before being hired by the Browns .
