Losing Shanny would mean yet another offensive scheme change as the Browns either hire a new OC or promote someone from within. Either way, it won't be Shanny's playbook being used as the new guy will have his own visions of how to do it. When will we ever have some continuity in any aspect of the Browns?!?!?! And yet again Lucy yanks the ball away.........
Quarterback follies: The end of the Browns? season officially came when Brian Hoyer removed his name plate from his locker and took it with him when he left the team facility Monday afternoon. ?Just in case? he doesn?t return. By the end of the night, the beginning of the offseason arrived with ? wouldn?t you know it? ? Kirk Cousins spotted having dinner in a Tremont restaurant. Coincidence or not? Cousins is the Washington Redskins backup to Robert Griffin 3 and Kyle Shanahan associate who may be the Browns? prime target among veteran quarterbacks when the team sets its offseason agenda in a few weeks. According to reports in May, the Browns inquired about trading for Cousins during the past draft. They offered a fourth-round draft choice; the Redskins wanted at least a second. The deal didn?t happen and Cousins, with Shanahan departed to Cleveland, sank to third on the Redskins? depth chart behind Colt McCoy. One report on Monday said that Cousins would renew efforts to be traded if RG3 returns as the Redskins? starter, as expected. I would expect Cousins to be the top target when the Browns go quarterback hunting once again in 2015. After all, he is 1-8 in his NFL career as a starter, his only win orchestrated by Shanahan against the Browns in 2012. As for Hoyer, who becomes a free agent in March, he insisted again Monday that he would welcome a return. ?But you also have to be wanted back,? Hoyer said. And there?s the rub. If there is any consensus in the Browns? building, it is to not bring Hoyer back. Even coach Mike Pettine, Hoyer?s former champion, was vague when asked about a Hoyer return on Monday. ?I don?t know where Brian is with Cleveland, and I?ll be very interested to hear where we are from an organizational standpoint,? the coach said, effectively washing his hands of Hoyer. ?Personally, I have a very good relationship with Brian. He was a big part of our success this year, but it?s something that I just don?t know if the circumstances can come together for him to be back here next year.? So now what?: ?I would say our quarterback picture is muddy, at best,? Pettine said. Sunday in Baltimore, undrafted Connor Shaw went out and played his guts out, and wound up urinating blood after he took several hits from the Ravens. He displayed toughness, calmness, professionalism, resourcefulness ? and a weak arm. And so, the Browns will launch another search for the next quarterback ? No. 23 to start a game since 1999. ?We?ll look at every possible way to upgrade every position,? Pettine said. ?We?re fortunate that we do have the draft picks that we have - two in the first round. That gives us some leverage and some options on some things that we can do, but we will be tasked as a coaching staff and as a personnel department to get creative and find how we can upgrade, not just quarterback, but every position.? With Hoyer sure to depart, the possibility exists of the Browns signing (or trading for) a veteran quarterback (Cousins?) and also drafting one (Brett Hundley of UCLA?) to join Manziel and Shaw in the mix for 2015. The prospect of the Browns? bundling their first-round picks ? No. 12 and No. 19 ? to move up for Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston seems far-fetched right now. But there is plenty of time for conjecture, trade talk, mock drafts and another super-secret quarterback tryout tour for the Browns. ?Tis the season.
Finally! Music to my Irish ears! time for this lazy, Pothead to go destroy some other teams locker room! Go get that 3 rd pick Farmer!
Hey Bluez, got a Mangini sighting for ya.......... The Raiders are scheduled to interview 49ers TEs coach Eric Mangini for their head-coaching vacancy. After being fired by the Jets, Mangini spent a few years at ESPN and recently reentered the coaching ranks as a 49ers assistant. He was the Niners' tight ends coach in 2014. It's worth noting the Niners' tight ends had an absolutely awful season as a unit, though we wouldn't necessarily blame Mangini. Either way, Mangini would certainly be an outside-the-box hire for the Raiders.
the Raiders should hire Tony Soprano ..they played hard for him . he is already in place . Mangini deserves another shot at a HC gig ..just don't make him the GM as well ..he can coach that's for sure . he is the kind of guy I would climb into a fox hole with . no nonsense tuff but fair put a foot in your ass tough love coach ..my kinda guy
my paitience with Gordon has run out as well ..if we can get a third for him do so . ..then watch him finnaly get it and play like he can *WALL*
ben a very tough week around here with my father on deaths door step and then of all things my 23 year old Goddaughter gets shot on Christmas day by her nutcase husband . UPDATE: SIDNEY -- A man is behind bars after police say he shot his wife in the head on Christmas Day. Police say 29 year old Brandon Blandzinski shot his 23 year old wife, Samantha, in the head at their home Christmas afternoon (2014). For neighbors who know this couple, no one expected to see their home turn into a crime scene on the peaceful holiday. Police and medics responded to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue in Sidney as neighbors watched on. "I can't believe something like that would happen on Christmas," neighbor Alice Turner said Thursday. "Everybody said that she shot her in the head and that he come out with his hands up and they put him on the ground and they took him to jail. They said she came out, she was covered in blood. It was just horrible." Alice and Ralph Turner have lived a few houses down from this home for seven years and were horrified to see this scene play out. "They're actually good people. They're quiet, you hardly even know those people are home over there," Turner said. "He works construction and she baby-sits. They're real good quiet people." Alice and Ralph watched as investigators combed every inch of the property. The woman was taken to a local hospital by CareFlight. she will survive ..she shot her in the head through her hands as she was trying to defend herself .. some prayers would be most welcome . I will be in and out for awhile here guys .
Best wishes for your goddaughter, Bluez. I'll be praying for her to pull through and for your Dad as well.
Tony Sparano said he "very, very badly" wants to remain the Raiders' head coach. Sparano guided the Raiders to a 3-9 record as the interim head coach following Dennis Allen's firing. During that time, he won over the players, with many of them coming to his side and making a case for Sparano after the Week 17 finale. If anything, Sparano has the "swag" and attitude as a no-nonsense-style coach -- yet his players would do anything for him -- to win over the Black Hole. It wouldn't be such a bad idea for the Raiders to keep Sparano and have some continuity in their lives, especially if GM Reggie McKenzie gets to keep his job.
Speaking of coaching changes, if Shanny gets the HC job in SF, who do we want and who is available for our next OC? Where are you Irish? You're probably in tune with who's out there.
Prayers for you and your God Daughter bluez, that's terrible...Hopefully she can move on from this and begin a new, happier life!
I will be SHOCKED if Shanahan gets the job. I wouldn't waste much time considering scenarios if I were you. I think the Browns front office is expecting him back. If we hear of call back interviews, we will get into all of that... I am more worried about free agency right now...I've started film study on the Seniors for the draft, January 15th I can start on underclassmen. I don't think there will be much turnover on the coaching staff this year...THANK GOD!!!
Bluez I am so sorry to hear that, man! What the F#$@ is wrong with people? My Irish grandfather had a saying. 1. God is Great 2. Whiskey is good 3. People are F$%#$#@ crazy The older I get I see what he meant. Anyways my prayers go to you, her and your family, man!
Speaking of free agents we are or hoping to pursue I thought I would take a look at next years schedule. This is what I found out. * is a playoff team. Home AWAY Tennessee NY JETS San Fran San Diego Oakland Kansas City *Denver *Seattle *Arizona St. Louis *Pittsburg *Pittsburg *Cinncy *Cinncy *Baltimore *Baltimore 6 playoff teams and 3 good teams in SF, St. Louis and Kansas City. Next years schedule isn't as easy as this years. This team needs major improvement this off season if it wants to even sniff 7 wins. The first position is QB! we are going to need a real signal caller next year. Not wanta be's in Hoyer, Manziel and Shaw. Man this schedule looks brutal! I hope not but we might be in the running next year for Bosa! We do need a DE or OLB! He is the best in the country, fellas! You all will see that vs Bama in 2 days! Next year instead of suck for Luck, I may start the Bust for Bosa campaign. He will be a top 5 pick! But anyway next year doesn't get any better for us schedule wise. We have a ton of work to do to this roster to not be in the Bust for Bosa talk! OH...... U all know the rest!
I'm hoping we can get Brad Seely back from the 49'ers so he can help our pathetic special teams. He did well for Mangini in 2009 and 2010.
Manziel wishes Lebron James Happy Birthday from a Miami nightclub! You know when we drafted Manziel I was like YES! We found our QB! Still pissed off that we traded away Watkins but drafting Manziel seemed to sooth that sting. But after his very short time here in Cleveland and seeing how he is pissing away this opportunity and basically pissing on all of us I WANT HIM GONE ALSO! F$#% him too. If I showed up late for a meeting with 1 of my business agents I wouldn't work for a year, man! He and Gordon are making us look like fools here fellas! These 2 are the reason we are the laughing stock of the NFL! Their behavior this year! We are all witnessing right here, right now why he was there to be drafted in the first place! A lot like POTHEAD! We seen through his 10 game suspension why he was there for us to draft in the 1st place. I say our 1st off season moves should be getting rid of these 2 ARSE CLOWNS! Haslam you blew it buddy! Stay the F#@$ out of the draft room from now on! Considering we could of had Watkins/Evans, Carr and Bitonio u and Farmer blew it! You keep making picks like Manziel go back to Pukesburg! Man, I had to get that out!lol Irish, Bluez, Lym and fellas we could of drafted better last year. I know that cause I remember some of our draft chats! Players were there where we thought they would be. We are not teams average fans. Lym man broke down the freaking salary cap by each guy! Who does that? Browns fans! People I talk to are mind blown at what you guys know and the only sport they watch is Cleveland Browns football! Some of them have come on here and read some things. But I'm telling you guy's this is a very important off season for us. We are close, real close. The schedule next year is tough. We are going to see what this franchise is all about this off season. Don't Byner it at the goal line! Put your pads down, drive and SCORE! As always GO BROWNS!
CSN Bay Area reports the 49ers spoke with ex-Redskins coach Mike Shanahan on Tuesday. Shanahan didn't have a formal interview, and it's unclear what the discussion was about, but we assume it's in regards to the team's head-coaching vacancy. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported on Tuesday that Mike's son, Browns OC Kyle Shanahan, is also on the 49ers' list. Shanahan took the 2014 season off after compiling a 24-40 record in four seasons with the Redskins from 2010-2013. He coached in San Francisco from 1992-1994 as the 49ers' offensive coordinator.
