  1. Irish man I work with with every type of people. Not only white, black, hispanic but also polish, irish, italian, german, women and men. Over weight, muscle heads, young and old. But in my profession there is 2 types of laziness. Physical and Mental! We are all going to get old. I'm 39 now and have to go until I'm 62 to get my 30 years in to get my full pension. So there is going to be thing's I'm not going to be able to do physically or mentally at that point in the game! LOL! I see guy's like Josh Gordon at every site I'm on. Meaning talented, young and get the job done in a timely manner. But when you have to run a 90lb Brute jackhammer all day they are in the chitter for 4 hrs or pick up the water pump to spray water so there isn't much concrete dust. That's physical and mental laziness. To me that's Josh Gordon. He has the tools to be 1 of the best WR's in this generation, NO DOUBT! But mentally the boy is a dwarf or little person or midget what ever you want to call it. By getting caught smoking weed 5 times in college and pro's that backs up my statement. He is mentally a dumbass! Physically he has all the tools needed to be GREAT! Size, speed and hands. But he takes plays off and we all know that! LAZINESS! I said this earlier in the year but I would be putting him on the trade board! He doesn't care about the word "TEAM". He cares about himself. Don't kid yourself. The Browns could be sitting him to send him a message. Maybe they are finally done with him. They know like we do that he has 1 full year left on his contract. There is a team out there that will risk trading for him to get his talent and then hope to resign him. Now I don't know if that's a 1st rd pick or later but I would ask for a late 1st and start from there. If it's a 2nd I'd be besides myself.

But absolutely trade him and bring in Torrey Smith, Randell Cobb, Cecil Shorts or Jeremy Maclin and go draft Strong, White or Parker. Let someone else deal with this lazy bum!

Browns suspended Josh Gordon for Week 17 against the Ravens for a violation of team rules.

Gordon was placed on the reserve/suspended list. WR Phil Bates was promoted off the practice squad to take his place. The Browns did not announce why Gordon was suspended, but NFL.com's Mike Silver reports Gordon missed the Browns' Saturday walk through. The suspension ends a tumultuous season for Gordon. After missing the first 11 weeks of the season serving a league-mandated suspension, Gordon looked out of shape and unfamiliar with the playbook as he struggled his way to 24 catches for 303 yards and zero touchdowns in five starts. Bad quarterback play certainly contributed to Gordon's disappointing stretch, but he was not the transcendent talent that took the league by storm in 2013. Coming off a down season and now serving his third suspension in two years, Gordon's Dynasty stock is crumbling.

  3. I'm a line first old school type guy! I think I was born during the wrong decade, lol. I believe you look a man in the eyes then give him a firm handshake. I also believe get me once shame on you, get me twice shame on me! To me that sums up Josh Gordon! It's time to say good bye to the diva! Then turn our attention to helping Manziel mature. But that in my mind also means going to get a veteran QB that can play. He is only making 1.5m and he is only 22. I say we kick the tires on Mallett and Locker. Every mock draft has Tennessee taking Winston. Locker is 26. Mallett is 26 with a very strong arm. How do you guy's think Johnny would take being a backup for 3/4 more years? He would either have to get better or be a nobody in his NFL career. If we sign one of these 2 for 3/4 years Johnny would be at the end of his contract and 26/27 years old. Very humbling in my opinion. Considering the fan fare he has gotten so far in his very, very young career.

I have stated a numerous time. That I don't care who is QB of the Cleveland Browns. I want a guy that can win the majority of football games. I don't expect Manning, Rodgers or Luck. But I do want someone that can put us in position to win, move the team down field & protect the ball. That's why I don't want another draft pick to be our starter. I want a veteran, someone who has played, young enough to play 3/4 years and has ran a huddle in the NFL.

The odds say there is no Luck, Manning or Rodgers in this draft. We missed on those players. We have a young QB, hell we have 2. How good Shaw is we will find out on Sunday. This young man is auditioning for the Browns tomorrow! Shall he stay or shall he go? Plus I think we should use those 1st 2 rd picks on OT, WR and either ILB, TE or D-line. Why get 1 player when you could get 2. Talent is what this team needs! But Farmer can't draft 2 backups and 1 starter again this year. We need 3/4 starters out of this draft. 1st 2 rds., 3 picks should start on this football team next year. There is enough talent in this draft to do that and it seems Farmer is better in the middle rds than the 1st. I hope that changes this year or next year I will be calling for his head!

    GO BROWNS!!!!!!!

  4. Just read on yahoo that this suspension will cost him due to not enough weeks (6) accrued to become a free agent agent after next year but be a RESTRICTED free agent! Now we now why the Browns suspended him for missing a team walk through. I keep saying this guy is THE DUMBASS OF THE DAY! That could help us in 2 ways can't it Irish? 1. Being a restricted FA if someone signs him that team would give us a pick right? But what would the pick be? 2. Wouldn't that help us in trying to trade him also? Would he still be a restricted FA to the team we trade him too? Which means if he doesn't resign with that team they would get a compensation pick then? I understand what's going on but not the clarification of it! HELP IRISH, HELP!! LOL

Watching that Duke/Arizona St. game I liked that WR, Strong. Showed good hands and speed. He is a big guy. I like those big wide outs, man! On the same note watching the Miami/S. Carolina game I saw ILB, Perryman. Although I know him already. He is a thumper. Kirby their other ILB was all over the place. I'm hoping to get that LB in/out in the 2nd rd. I don't think offensive tackles Andrus Peat/Stanford and La'el Collins/LSU or Kevin White WR/WVU or Jalean Strong WR/ASU will be there in the 2nd rd. I think by now you guy's can see who I want with our 1st rd picks, lol! I'll take the combination of any 4. Both tackles could move over to the left side when Thomas retires. The 2 out of the 4 I prefer are Peat and Strong!

Josh Gordon isn?t the only high-profile player in trouble with the Browns.

Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has been fined by the team for being late for treatment on his injured hamstring, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

That news was broken just hours after the Browns announced that Gordon is suspended for the regular-season finale for missing today?s walk-through practice. Manziel is on injured reserve and was not expected at the walk-through, but the report that he didn?t show up on time for treatment is concerning.

Manziel?s tardiness today comes just days after he vowed to take his work more seriously. Apparently taking work seriously doesn?t include showing up to work on time.

So now the Browns, at the end of a season that showed some promise, are ending the season on a low note: Their best offensive playmaker is such a troublemaker that his future with the team is in question, and their franchise quarterback doesn?t show up to work on time.

  6. bluez M.V.P. Browns Indians

ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi believes the Browns are considering making a run at impending free agent DT Ndamukong Suh.

The Browns could be targeting Suh to upgrade their league-worst run defense. Current DTs Ahtyba Rubin and Ishmaa'ily Kitchen both struggled this year and are unlikely to be re-signed. Suh has been a three-technique his entire career and is a questionable fit for Mike Pettine's 3-4 scheme. Cleveland has a projected $19 million in 2015 cap space and "may be willing to make Suh the highest-paid defensive lineman in NFL history."

  8. I would rather give RT Bulaga, OLB Justin Houston or TE Juilus Thomas that 15-18m ! Why improve 1 position for 15-18m when you can improve 2/3 positions at 15-18m with 2/3 pro bowlers at that, LOL! But I could see Haslam getting anal like he did with Manziel and doing that! I hope not but if we could get him at 12m I would do that! For $30m we could add him Bulaga and Houston! Houston is going to get PAID if not franchised. Thomas only makes 800k so he will get 5-8m, Bulaga makes 3.5m so he'll get 8-12m more than likely. But I would love to have any combination of the 4. That's adding talent. If we could trade Gordon and free up 4m for a pick I say pull the trigger!

  9. DvlDawg Starter Browns

So we're looking at signing a guy that does not even play the 3-4, and throw a boatload of money at him in the process? Yeah.... Whatever..... let's spit ball it.

He could work out really well as a DE in Pettine's Defense. I prefer Rubin over Taylor at NT. Rubin is not fast enough to play DE in Coach P's attacking 3-4, and Taylor was getting shoved all over the field this past season. Now draft Shilique Calhoun to replace Sheard and Mingo and we start looking rather nasty up front.

LOLB Kruger LDE Dez Bryant NT Rubin or Taylor RDE Suh ROLB Calhoun

  10. DvlDawg Starter Browns

To say that we will challenge the Left side of opponents OL would not be an understatement. Suh's presence would make Calhoun's transition a lot easier, teams could not afford to double team him.

Now we would just have to keep Suh grabbing our QBs by the helmet and rag dolling them in practice. Ala Jake Delhomme.

  11. DvlDawg Starter Browns

Brian Beluga would be a God send to whatever QBs are taking snaps for us next year.

  12. Dawg that's the 1st FA I want! He, Cobb and there is another good player but I forgot his name. Bulaga will get franchised I think. But if he does that will leave Cobb open to sign. Cobb is 25 and only makes 1.5m. Cobb, Torrey Smith and Cecil Shorts are the WR's I want to replace Gordon. Give me anyone of those 3. Then draft J. Strong/ASU or Kevin White/WVU.

  13. Suh has a deal in place but could void out of it. Don't know for how much it is though.

  14. DvlDawg Starter Browns

I am with you on Cobb and Shorts. I recall reading somewhere that GB was in some cap trouble after this season. I know that they have Nelson coming free this year too. They will have to let someone walk, I don't think they can afford all three.

Cobb will come out expecting #1 pay though. He won't play on a new deal for what he's making now.

  15. TopDawg Legend

    Josh Gordon = selfish azzhole

.....and Johnny Manziel couldn't do a better job proving all of his critics right if he was trying to.

  16. bluez M.V.P. Browns Indians

With the Browns suspending receiver Josh Gordon for the final game of the 2014 regular season, a fight is now looming over whether Gordon will be an unrestricted free agent or a restricted free agent following the 2015 season.

Acquired by the Browns via the 2012 supplemental draft, Gordon currently is completing his third NFL season. But because (per a league source) the Browns have decided to suspend Gordon without pay for Sunday?s game against the Ravens, the NFL is now expected to take the position that Gordon has not gained a third ?accrued season? for the purposes of becoming a free agent.

The league will contend that Gordon did not acquire a third accrued season (he needs four to become an unrestricted free agent) because the league believes that a player obtains an accrued season for each season in which he spends six games on the Active List or Inactive List or on Reserve/Injured or Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform.

Article 8(1)(a) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, however, provides a different definition: ?For the purposes of calculating Accrued Seasons under this Agreement, a player shall receive one Accrued Season for each season during which he was on, or should have been on, full pay status for a total of six or more regular season games, but which, irrespective of the player?s pay status, shall not include games for which the player was on: (i) the Exempt Commissioner Permission List, (ii) the Reserve PUP List as a result of a nonfootball injury, or (iii) a Club?s Practice Squad.?

The first legal fight will focus on whether a suspension without pay was justified. If the player wins round one, round two becomes irrelevant; if it?s determined he should have been paid for Week 17, Gordon will have been on full pay status for six games.

The second round, if there is one, will center on the meaning of the phrase ?during which he was on, or should have been on, full pay status for a total of six or more regular season games.? When combined with three specific types of categories that do not count toward the six-game minimum, the phrase ?should have been on . . . full pay status? seems to include, based on its common-sense meaning, players who aren?t on full-pay status for reasons such as a team-imposed suspension or a league-imposed suspension for violating the substance-abuse policy.

The phrase ?should have been on? has meaning, or it wouldn?t have been included. Without the phrase ?should have been on,? it would be an easy decision; Gordon wasn?t on ?full pay status? for six or more regular-season games.

The NFL will offer, at the appropriate time, an interpretation of the phrase that excludes players who are suspended by the team or the league. The NFLPA will tender an interpretation rooted in the common-sense application of the phrase and the listing of three types of exempt categories other than a player on suspension by the team or suspension by the league for violating the substance-abuse policy.

If the suspension without pay is upheld, at some point an interpretation of Article 8(1)(a) will be needed. The plain language suggests that the NFLPA and Gordon should prevail.

  17. I'm glad that some of you are seeing the light(so to speak) on Josh Gordon. Team, work crew whatever has to play/work in unison to accomplish it's goal. " I nation under a groove" as the P funk funkadelic put it! lol!

This team by showing it's collapse this season showed there is a lack of leadership on this team. Whether it's from Haslam, Farmer, Pettine or the players in the locker room. I know this is another rebuild and I think that's what has most of us freaked out. We at 1 time in this season were 7-4. Things were looking great here on the shores of Lake Erie. Something that us Browns fans have been waiting for since 1995. A team we could call our Cleveland Browns. That's 20 years fellas! That besides in uniform that actually play like the Cleveland Browns we all grew up watching know matter what era we were watching them. Competitive!

I'll say this again! I want Josh Gordon out of here! He is not the Dez Bryant type leader, he is not the Megatron type leader. This offense needs leaders! Period! Gordon , Thomas and Mack are our offenses best players. No doubt! But I'm afraid only one,Mack, is a leader. That showed when he went down. The line along with the offense fell apart. Injuries happen in anything you do. but that 1 injury crippled us! With Gordon out our WR's did their job. That unit looked worse with him. I don't care if he's a RFA or URFA in 1 year I want him gone! Trade him to the NFC and try to get a late 1st rd pick for him or an early 2nd rd pick. Then go from there. I do think that he and Manziel divided this locker room. So one has to go! Manziel is cheaper, younger and under contract longer so I say keep him. But I do want Locker or Mallett in FA! Manziel is not ready to run this team mentally!

As stated the Browns have 20-30m to spend on free agents. Locker makes 3.8m and Mallett makes 800k. I would go after Mallett. His arm is stronger and also came from the Belichek tree. Plus he would be cheaper to sign. He would be my starting QB. The 1st position I would go after in FA is RT! Bulaga I don't think will be there. The Packers have Nelson, Cobb, Bulaga all free agents. I see them signing Bulaga or franchising him. Same could be said for Nelson. So I think Cobb is the odd man out there. Now he makes 1.5m and is 25 years old. 3-4m will get him I think. If not there is Torrey Smith and Cecil Shorts. But Cobb is who I want after a RT!

I'm done with lazy arse Josh Gordon! What good is a Porche sitting in the garage if it doesn't have a motor in it! I know this isn't the FA thread but we will chat more on that page about free agents. It's almost time to see if Conner Shaw is good enough to be a backup in this league!

    GO BROWNS!

Connor Shaw takes over anemic offense minus Josh Gordon

The Baltimore Ravens can still achieve their goal of qualifying for the postseason. They will just need some outside help to make it happen.

A loss Sunday to the Cleveland Browns would end all remaining hope, but the Ravens are at home and likely to face an undrafted quarterback who has never taken an NFL snap.

Baltimore (9?6) needs a win and Kansas City to defeat San Diego - a game that starts at the same time as this one - in the regular season?s final week in order to make the playoffs.

?Our emphasis is completely and squarely on the Cleveland Browns,? coach John Harbaugh said. ?That?s what we?re going to be doing. I?m sure they?ll flash the score up there ? We?re not going to be immersed in any other game. That?s a recipe for disaster.?

The Ravens entered Week 16 in control of their own destiny and carrying the momentum of back-to-back wins, but neither factor translated to a quality performance. Baltimore had a season-low 211 yards of offense and equaled its lowest point total in a 25?13 loss to Houston.

While the rushing attack was held to a season-worst 33 yards on 16 attempts, Joe Flacco threw three interceptions as he completed 21 of 50 passes - a 42.0 percent rate which was his worst since 2011.

?It was a tough game,? Flacco said. ?I said it afterwords: We got whooped in a lot of ways ? There?s not really too much you can do about it at this point. You just have to have confidence in yourself, confidence in yourself as a group and go out and win the next one.?

Baltimore?s ability to run the ball has dramatically decreased each of the last two weeks. After ranking near the top of the league through Week 14 with 135.7 rushing yards per game, the Ravens have averaged 63.0 in their last two contests.

Justin Forsett is the league?s sixth-leading rusher with 1,147 yards, but he?s been held to 67 in the past two weeks on 26 carries.

?It?s tough,? Flacco said of the struggling run game. ?The way this offense runs, it?s definitely key to get it going, because a lot of play-action is set up off of that, a lot of our keepers are set up off of that. And when we fall behind, we lose the ability to do that.?

Flacco is 12?1 all-time against Cleveland, including a 23?21 victory in Week 3 when Justin Tucker kicked the winning 32-yard field goal as time expired. The Browns have never beaten him in Baltimore, losing six straight there while averaging 11.0 points.

Cleveland (7?8) enters Sunday with its own multitude of issues. The current four-game losing streak has kept the Browns out of the playoffs for the 12th consecutive year and without a winning record for a seventh season in a row.

Problem No. 1 is the quarterback situation. Johnny Manziel is out with a hamstring injury and Brian Hoyer has an injured shoulder. That means Connor Shaw will come off the practice squad and start the season finale.

?I?m excited about it,? Shaw said Friday. ?It was a good week of practice and I had a lot of support from coaches and teammates and I?m confident going into this game with the game plan. We?ll see what happens on Sunday.?

An undrafted free agent, Shaw is the third quarterback to start for the Browns this season and the 22nd for the franchise since 1999.

?He?s been outstanding for us all year,? coach Mike Pettine said of Shaw. ?He?s done everything that we?ve asked. He?s not the biggest guy. He?s not the fastest guy. He?s not the strongest guy, but he just found a way to be productive and I think that his strength lies in competitiveness. He?s a guy that I wouldn?t be surprised if he does have to play that he goes out there and plays well.?

Shaw inherits an anemic offensive unit. In the last three games, Cleveland posted its three lowest yardage totals of the season, highlighted by a 107-yard showing against Cincinnati in Manziel?s only full game before he got hurt in last Sunday?s 17?13 loss to Carolina.

That offense took another blow Saturday when the team announced embattled wide receiver Josh Gordon was suspended for the season finale for failing to attend a morning walk-through before the team?s flight to Baltimore. Gordon, who already served a 10-game league-imposed suspension for multiple drug violations, has 24 catches for 303 yards in five games.

While the rushing attack has had its share of problems, averaging a league-worst 3.13 yards per carry since Oct. 15, the run defense has been particularly bad in the past two weeks. The Bengals and Panthers combined for 453 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, dropping the Browns to last in the NFL with 142.4 rushing yards allowed per game.

Still, veteran linebacker Karlos Dansby is finding positives from the 2014 season.

?We made strides. People didn?t have us winning seven games, y?all had us winning one game - if that,? Dansby said. ?But we surprised y?all. Like I said, we are on a mission. We are a team with purpose, man. We are purpose-driven? If I was the general manager, I would keep everybody. And let?s go get it next year.?

Browns cornerback Joe Haden could return after sitting out last week with a shoulder injury. He was selected to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday along with safety Tashaun Gipson, who was placed on injured reserve last week, and left tackle Joe Thomas was picked for an eighth consecutive season.

Baltimore had three players - linebackers C.J. Mosley and Elvis Dumervil and guard Marshal Yanda - selected to the Pro Bowl.
