I Joined the Indian Lake Browns backers when we came back in 99 . they still meet up at Brothers Bar & Grill on the N side of the Lake but i watch from home unless its blacked out & i have no choice but to head over there . good group i just prefer to watch from my own home . i dont play well with others during Browns games i will admit . been in more fights over them than any girl or pool game . *DRINK*
The Cleveland Plain Dealer suggests second-year WR Josh Gordon is headed for a "breakout season" in the Browns' new offense. Reporter Terry Pluto observed at OTAs that the game comes "outrageously easy" to Gordon, who "glides down the field" and will be the featured target in Rob Chudzinski's vertical passing attack. Gordon was one of the league's most dangerous vertical receivers as a rookie. In our 2012 tape study, we observed Gordon to have movement skills not dissimilar from Andre Johnson.
Offseason overhaul close to happening Posted by Mike Florio on May 20, 2013, 2:30 PM EDT Getty ImagesYes, the NFL offseason will be changing. But not the way the NFL had envisioned. ESPN?s Adam Schefter reports that the league and the NFLPA are on the verge of a deal that would move the draft to May, something the league has wanted. The change would apply to at least the next three years. It?s unclear when in May the draft would occur, but it?s safe to assume that the draft would fall in the window for the Nielsen?s ratings sweeps. The quid pro quo apparently will come from the movement of the start of the league year (and in turn the launch of free agency) from after the Scouting Combine to before it. While at first blush this suggests the new league year will land in February, the more likely outcome is that the Scouting Combine will happen in March. Regardless of the precise dates for the Scouting Combine, the change means that the Combine no longer would be the league?s annual tampering swap meet. The market already would be open, and agents would be trying to do deals with teams instead of merely laying the foundation for those deals in a way that violates NFL rules. The league had wanted to move the Combine to March, to delay the launch of free agency to April, and to nudge the draft to May. The NFLPA wisely balked, since it would delay the transfer of offseason funds from teams to players. Instead, free agency (and the ?signing day? concept the NFL is developing) would happen in late February or early March (like it used to), the Combine would come after that, and the third significant event in the NFL offseason would happen in May, blending seamlessly into OTAs that extend into June, followed by a six-week quiet period that never really is quiet. If the new approach maximizes opportunities for fans to follow the NFL and further increases interest, it?s hard for a website that derives its audience and revenue from covering the NFL to complain. But we?ll probably find a reason to.
I hate FBB, 2-5, going south fast, have made more changes than Joan Rivers has done face lift jobs and still fading. *HELP* *CRAZY* Going to continue to try and get it right though, even if I have to skin a goat to get there, *STOP* what am I saying, forget that last one.

My thoughts are with Oklahoma right now . Stay Strong . i was stationed out there twice so i know just how wicked and fast those storms come up . you can see them but there isn't much you can do except run for cover .
A moment of silence for those lost ..especially all the kids . its tornado alley you would think that there would be underground shelters in the schools at least . they got hit hard in 99 . one would think that they would built them after that one if not before ??????
The Morning Kickoff ? Norval, Part Two: Last Thursday I sat with Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner and talked football for 30 minutes. Part One of our conversation, posted on Monday, concerned quarterback Brandon Weeden. Today we touch on other topics related to the Browns? offense. Unlike the defense, most of the players on offense are the same from a year ago. Is that good or bad? Turner: My take on it is the defensive guys we?ve added are new names, but they?ve played. The offensive guys are new players ? Trent (Richardson) is a second year guy, Josh (Gordon) is a second-year guy, Jordan (Cameron) is a third year guy, Greg (Little) is a third year guy. They haven?t played a lot of football. When you get guys at that point, if they have ability you expect them to improve dramatically each year they play. We?re getting a full offseason with those guys, which some of them didn?t have last year. I see us getting better every day in practice. I see us executing faster. I see us having more a sense of urgency. We?ve got some guys that can make plays. We?re pushing this thing in fast forward and getting them moving. I think Rob (Chudzinski) has created a real sense of urgency with these guys in getting them to compete in our division. At tight end, it appears you and Chud are committed to making Cameron the No. 1 guy. Turner: The guy that people will be surprised about is Gary (Barnidge). I didn?t know a lot about him. Scott (Turner, WR coach) and Chud talked about him. I think he?s been good in these camps. Jordan?s been outstanding in these camps. Kellen (Davis) started in Chicago and is going to be in the mix. He?s a physical player. I think we have the right type of guys at the tight end position. But do you have a guy to make plays, not just catches? Turner: We?ve been lucky. You know, we?ve had some tight ends that are high percentage, catch-the-ball and not the big-play guy, but we?ve also been fortunate to have Jay Novacek, Antonio Gates. Randy McMichael as a rookie caught 50 balls in Miami for us. They make big plays. When you get to a position where we want to be where our wide receivers are making plays, those tight ends get great matchups. What are your thoughts on Richardson? Turner: I like being around him. I stood on that sideline on that rainy, cold day (in November) and watched him make that (26-yard TD) run when he made about four of our guys miss and fall down. He?s got everything you?d look for in a tailback. He?s got a very confident presence about him. He?s got great vision. He?s a physical player. He?s got great hands. I see a little bit of a number of different guys I?ve been around in him. I tend not to compare guys but he?s got a lot of the traits of the best backs I?ve been around. He?s built a little like Emmitt (Smith). He?s just a big, physical guy with great feet. Comment on Gordon, please. Turner: He?s really got some very unique skills. I?ve been around some big receivers, but he?s a smoother, more athletic guy than some of the other bigger receivers I?ve been around. All your offenses have had a traditional fullback. Do you have one here? Turner: It?s funny because we?ve played with different guys at the fullback position over the last period of (years). I don?t know that we have that per se guy that is a pure fullback, but we have a number of guys that can fill that role. Do you have a lead blocker? Turner: A pure lead blocker, two back ? we?ve talked about a number of things. Again, it?s going be a mixture and we?re continuing to look at that. What?s the origin of your offense? Turner: It?s really evolved. I was with John Robinson at USC and at the Rams. In 1987, he hired Ernie Zampese, who coached with Don Coryell. So we put that pass offense together with our run at USC -- a power running game with a quick-timed passing game that had big-play ability. When I went to Dallas, we kept our pass offense, kept our run, and we had the two big receivers (Michael Irvin and Alvin Harper), so we took some of the 49ers stuff, particularly their quick game they did with (Bill) Walsh, and you grow. The roots go back to John Robinson and Don Coryell and Ernie. There?s a core of things that the guys who?ve played in this offense, whether it be Dan Fouts in San Diego or Jim Everett with the Rams or Troy (Aikman) in Dallas or Alex Smith one year in San Francisco or Phillip Rivers, they would all recognize 70 percent of what we?re doing. And some of the things we?ve changed. I think Chud did some great things in Carolina. To me you?re in a race with everyone else. From a coaching standpoint, you?re always trying to stay a step ahead. I can?t imagine you doing any zone read with Weeden, right? Turner: No. But there?s some things they did in Carolina ? we?re not gonna do zone read ? but there?s some things with read-option type things where you can create some running situations, and if you don?t get the run look there?s some good pass off of it. What about the pistol formation? Turner: We?re gonna do some pistol. We?re gonna do what gives us the best chance. They used it at Carolina. It gets the quarterback away from the line. There?s a lot of things the pistol does (even if) the quarterback never runs. Now the threat of the run helps it, but there are still some things from flash and pass and the running game that we can do. It?s really easier for the quarterback to get four yards deep and be able to hand it (off). Now, sometimes it?s not as good for certain runs, so there?s a reason we?ll be under center (too). Browns OC Norv Turner doesn't expect Jason Campbell to get as many reps as the younger quarterbacks. "Jason's played nine years in the league," Turner said. "He's played so much you hope maybe once we get going with everything we're doing he doesn't need as many reps as maybe a young guy does." If we read between the lines a little bit, it suggests the "competition" for the starting job isn't a real one. Turner says he's been impressed with Brandon Weeden after three practice sessions. He'd have to fall flat on his face to not be under center in Week 1.
The Browns were reportedly interested in quarterback Brian Hoyer long before they signed him, which meant that his arrival in Cleveland last week became fodder for discussions about increased competition for Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden this offseason. Offensive coordinator Norv Turner did his best to play up Weeden?s qualifications for the job recently by saying that he doesn?t think many quarterbacks could have succeeded in Cleveland during the 2012 season and he did his best to downplay the import of Hoyer?s arrival at a banquet on Monday night. While Turner said he like Hoyer?s skills, his comments painted a picture of a team taking a look at a player with some intriguing raw materials than a case of signing a player the team thinks can start for them this year. ?I think there have been more stories written about Brian Hoyer being a Brown over the last four months than probably any player in history,? Turner said, via the Cleveland Plain Dealer. ?He was released. He was available. He?s a guy that has been with some good teams in backup situations. He?s played very little football, but I do think we like his skill set.? That wasn?t the only signal that Turner sent about who might be the team?s starter in 2013. Turner also said that he thought there was more value in Weeden taking the majority of reps with the first team this spring and summer than there was in keeping things even with Campbell, who Turner said ?doesn?t need as many reps? as younger players. More exposure could certainly backfire for Weeden if he?s not up to the task, but it still seems likelier than he?s the starter in Week One than any one else on the roster.
Oklahoma just falls right smack in the center of that gulf jet stream that is known for producing huge storms and massive F4 and F5 tornadoes....How can they have schools without basements or fallout shelters of some sort? It's sad. I feel bad for those affected by yesterdays tragedy. They need stricter building codes in that area of our country....That's scary stuff. I wouldn't want to live there.
