Another ugly win over a sub-par team. I appreciate the 'W' but have concerns when we face a better caliber opponent come Thursday. Maybe the Browns are just in the habit of making all their games (minus the Steeler game) ugly. As long as they notch another victory on the AFCN bed post against the Bengals, I think I'll feel a bit more comfortable knowing we can win ugly against some stiffer competition.

  7. I agree 100% Duff,I remember back at the start of the season everyone talking about Kardiac Kids 2.0, they look more like the "Garbage Pail Kids" these last few weeks! *WALL*

  8. Another good win for our Brownies yesterday. This puts us I believe at 5-3. First time since 2007.

As Duff said above, we are winning ugly but winning. Like you Duff I wonder how we will stack up against the Bungals? The one thing I notice against Cinncy is that Green usually has his way with Haden. Is Green even playing? I know he was hurting earlier in the year with a toe problem. If he does Haden has to contain him. Give him his yards but keep him out of the end zone. Their pass catching backs scare me a little bit. Can our LB's cover them? I know Whitner can.

I don't mean to complain because we are winning but where is Crowell? I feel he and Tate should be the RB tandem. He makes things happen. But again a win is a win.

Ok fellas yesterday my dad, brother and I were watching the game over beer, pizza and chicken wings and the guy next to us asked the question. Should the Browns resign Cameron? I said yes if we can get him on the cheap. My brother said no! Injury prone and my father said the same thing. When healthy I feel Cameron is a top 5 TED in the league. His concussion problems concern me. Although there has been many teams wanting him in a trade. The Browns I hope are careful with this situation. But I will say this. I really like that Jesse James kid out of Penn St.

Man it feels great being half way through the season and already have 5 wins. I have always stated when it came to the Browns that I want improvement. Of coarse I would love to win 10 games or more but I will be happy with 7/8 wins. That means we are finally in the right direction. Instead of saying the whole team sucks know I can say we still need help at this position or that position. I feel we still need another guard or RT, #2 WR and TED if we dont resign Cameron. Thats only 3 spots on offense. On defense I think we need that OLB that can get after the QB and defensive end. Thats 2 spots. In my eyes only being 5 players away from a good team is very encouraging. That's improving. So fellas enjoy! I'm starting to think after 15 years our Browns are finally coming back. Leaves are falling, cold weather and the Browns are winning! This is how fall should be here in Cleveland Ohio. GOOOOO BROWNS!!!!!!!!!

This could be the key to the game!! I cannot stand the penalties being called this year and it makes it nearly impossible to cover elite receivers, which is why I like our chances once Gordon returns from suspension. Give me a victory in Cincinnati and I will be handing out drinks on the playoff bandwagon come Friday.

Actually, I feel it should be Crow and West, they were producing the #4 run offense in the NFL before Tate came back, although I do feel Mack had a LOT to do with that as well. Tate just doesn't seem to have the quick step since his injury. Crow needs to hold on to the ball, but I also believe he is the best RB on this team.

Sorry, but sitting at 5-3 at the half way point..There is NO way I would concede that a 7/8 win season shows improvement.

It shows improvement over 2013, but at 4-12, we needed to see improvement immediately, which we have.

We need to continue to show improvement by the week now, regressing to go 2-6 or 3-5 over the second half of the season will not be tolerated in my eyes, especially since we are 5-3 without arguably our best offensive weapon not playing. Once Gordon returns, there will be NO excuses for poor offensive play. He will not only give our QB an elite target, but he should loosen up that line of scrimmage and give the RBs a hole or two to run through.

As for the evaluation on the O-line, I think it is imperative we have an elite backup C/G combo. Get Mack back and this line as it stands is right at the top in the NFL..

As for #2 WR, I think we are set at the position quite honestly. If you are talking about a second #1, just in case Gordon is lost again, well we can have that conversation. But any of the three of Hawkins, Gabriel or Austin are right there as far as what you want in a #2. I personally think the biggest issue is finding enough balls to go around once Gordon returns. Everyone is complaining about Austin this year, but the guy is catching at a high rate. With only 40 targets, he has 26 catches. If you look across the league, that's a pretty high percentage of targets caught. On most plays, he is the 3rd or 4th option.

Personally at the half way point of 2014, I see our biggest need on this team being backup depth. We finally have starter quality at every position...

I feel that we can honestly go into the 2015 draft and pick the absolute best on the board at the time we draft without needing to reach, even a couple of spots, for any position.

I do however, agree with your brother and dad that TE is a position of need. Cameron simply cannot stay healthy and although he is capable of making circus catches, he is extremely inconsistent after 4 years in the league.

I do believe, like you said, re-sign Cameron if it is reasonable. There is really no reason he should not be reasonable to re-sign. If not, free agency looks pretty solid at the position and signing a TE should not be an issue.

Just out of curiosity, why do you call it a TED position? I honestly don't think I have ever heard anyone else call it that, what does the "D" stand for?

I brought up the Camoeron conundrum too. He's that guy who's good, not great and only on an inconsistent basis, due to injury or whatever. IMO you can't make him a priority.

Also agree that we have a "pretty good" set of secondary WRs, if Gordon gets back. I liked Gabriel in the preseason, and what he did yesterday showed great football instincts again. The guy may not be polished, but he has the tools, and makes good decisions. Austim: vet savvy and clutch. Benji is the odd man out IMO. He's aqnother guy who can't seem to find a place to land.

I agree Benjamin will, and should, have a hard time holding on to a position in the coming year...I have some ideas for the 2015 draft...but I should probably keep them under wraps until the season is over...

    Crazy Crex?s Musings:

Ok Lounge Houndz we can all breathe a short sigh of relief. We escaped the bucs game with a Win [IMG]

    Question of the day?
How much will Mike Evans have to pay Johnny for using the $$ sign? %)

It?s a short week and hopefully Cameron will be back. I am concerned as well as to what longer term effects these concussions will have on him. As far as re-signing him, if it can be done at a reasonable price ok, though Farmer will need to find someone else to either compliment him better, or replace him. I agree that once Gordon comes back our WR corps will among the better corps in the league.

Beating the Bungles will be a difficult task. The have all their weapons available. While Haden is Green?s kryptonite, there are still plenty of other weapons for Dalton to go to.

The O-line has got to get better, a lot better. I do wonder if they were better with Greco at Center. Establishing and stopping the Run will be major factors in deciding the outcome of this divisional game. It's a difficult task, but not one that is insurmountable.

    Let's go Browns...
