You didn't, but you know damn well what I meant so stick to the subject.

You can repeat it all you want. I get a laugh every time I read it.

  2. u have an opinion and I have mine so keep laughing I guess

  3. Campbell Administrator Manager Commissioner

And that is the whole point stopper.

I will respectfully talk football with anyone that is willing to do the same and that is all the Browns faithful here is asking you to do.

You are entitled to your opinion, same as everyone else on these boards.

When you are not acting like an ass you have some valid points that everyone here appreciates reading, myself included.

Just had Lyman on for the return of the podcast. It should be up for tomorrow at 9am.

Right in your first sentence there, stopper.

  6. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

You did notice that's a Steeler's jersey, right top dawg?

  7. TopDawg Legend

Sorry SAS, didn't mean to leave you out...

I'm not sure how those stats are translating. So Hoyer and Foles are the worst, yet one has his team rolling in first place at 5-1, and the other is 3-2 (narrowly missing 5-0) and knocking on the door in the north...

The ultimate goal is to win....So evidently those two are doing something right.

I think maybe instead of inaccuracy, it could just be that they like to rip it. Both Foles and Hoyer seem to love those deep seam routes, and both are not shy about going for the long ball...You could also say both are benifitting from strong running games, but the bottom line is, stats DON'T tell the whole story...Clearly nobody is breathing down the neck of either guy....Now Geno on the other hand....smh. He's just bad....really really bad.

  8. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

You realize you just pulled a "showstopper" there, right?

  9. TopDawg Legend

Call it what you want SA...You are trying to tell me how inaccurate those two are, and I'm saying they are both playing well and winning....Whatever these stats are that you pulled out, obviously don't show the picture. Hoyer and Foles are rolling...

I think Lym hit the nail on the head....You guys want to see Johnny in there so badly, you are ignoring the effectiveness of Brian Hoyer and focusing on the negative...

  10. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

I just want you to call a spade a spade. If you're going to jump all over showstopper's case for changing the subject mid-argument, then you ought to hold yourself to the same standard (or at least expect to get called on it).

    Just to re-cap:

    • top dawg: YOU are the only person that I know of that is taking issues with Brian Hoyer's accuracy....He's getting high marks across the board everywhere else...[/*]
    • SAS: Actually, he's almost the worst in the League in accuracy.[/*]
    • top dawg: whatever, he's winning games, who cares about accuracy?[/*]

Well, you're both wrong (shock) on that account. I (and I'm assuming you're grouping Irish in there as well) have said multiple times that we don't care who's the QB as long as we're winning. We just want to stop the Hoyrgy? before it gets even further out of control.

You guys will defend Hoyer so badly and to a fault that you fail to see even what the most cursory review would tell you. There's positives and negatives to him as a player. Some of us can see that. Some others seem to think he gets to the stadium on Sundays by walking across Lake Erie.

  11. TopDawg Legend

Okay I see you got a +1 for that SA...Now Im curious....How specifically do you think I pulled a "showstopper"...because I thought we were just debating the worth of Brian Hoyer?

You puting my name to "who cares about accuracy" is a joke.....I'm certain I never said that

  12. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

Well, Cleveland is third in the League in rushing (146.9 YPG) and playing a soft schedule (0.472)...

Perhaps in the case of Philadelphia it's playing a softer schedule (0.371)? In fact, in the game against Indy, Foles wasn't very good and was down-right bad against a good San Francisco team. Who have they beat besides the Colts (barely)?

Unless we think maybe Philly's OC deserves some of the credit?

Dude! You literally just said it! Maybe not as directly as I did, but that's exactly how your reasoning has gone thus far.

    To wit:

    1. You say Hoyer has great accuracy.
    2. I prove otherwise.
    3. You change the subject to winning games.
    4. I call you on it.
    5. You continue to discuss winning games, while dismissing the notion of accuracy.

You are just a little showstopper jr. today, aren't you?

EDIT: I feel I have to re-iterate this because it clearly hasn't sunk in. I don't care that Hoyer's accuracy is crap and he's not improving on it right now because we're winning games and I'm reasonable certain he'll be playing in another city in 2015.

The "beef" I have is not with Hoyer. It's with those who would staunchly defend him incorrectly and perpetuate a lie because they either (1) hate Johnny Manziel or (2) fall far too hard in love with flavor-of-the-week QBs in Cleveland.

  14. TopDawg Legend

This is exactly what I'm talkin about SA...You are missing the fact that Hoyer is the key to this offense, because you are looking to poke holes in his game....Nevermind that it's been fun as hell to watch and we could easily be 5-0. Where's Johnny? I think a raw rookie should lead this team....lol!

  15. TopDawg Legend

I don't know what you are talking about...Evidently you think the only thing in the world that matters is that the QB never mis-fires....don't know what to tell ya SA.

  16. TopDawg Legend

You are trying to make this point about bad QB's, and if you combine 2 of your examples, they have a record of 8-3. lol!

  17. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

    *sigh*

For starters: Brian Hoyer is not the key to this offense -- the running game is. Hoyer's ability to use play-action and Kyle Shannahan's ability to scheme a good offense is what's helped the passing game.

This is not a "knock" on Hoyer, as it's the system he's been given to work with. It just means I see him for what he is.

Second... it has been fun to watch! I would be much happier if a guy who's almost dead last in completion percentage had made two crucial third-down versions against Pittsburgh (Week 1) and Baltimore (Week 3) because I'm reasonably certain we'd be 5-0 at this point.

Third... that last point? Was there a word omitted, or do you actually think Manziel should be starting?

Once again, this is not something I said. It's merely my rebuttal to the outlandish claims that Hoyer has "excellent" accuracy or is a franchise QB or is the reason we're 3-2. There's a lot to like about Brian's game. There's also a lot not to like. I happen to be one of those realists who appreciates the moments, but realizes trouble is on the horizon if we don't get some major holes in his game fixed.

  18. SAS M.V.P. Rams Chargers

And Tim Tebow was 8-4 with a playoff win in 2011 (with six game winning drives, BTW), despite completing only 46.5% of his passes.

So what's your point? You'd prefer flash-in-the-pan success with a horrific burnout following rather than sustained team growth?

  19. TopDawg Legend

I'm not changing the subject to winning games. I'm trying to get you to open your mind to the possibility that there is much more to being an effective winng NFL QB than just pin point accuracy...

I've never said that Hoyer has been perfect. Yeah, he's had some bad throws...are you happy? can we move on?

  20. TopDawg Legend

Now THAT is a classic "showstopper" my friend....lol!

    too funny..
