  1. Also, I wanted to ask my fellow loungers if anyone is going to be attending the Oakland game on the 26th? I'm leaving to head back up to the Buckeye State on Thursday and will be in Ohio until the 27th, and while I'm up there the little lady got me (and my Brother) tickets to the Oakland game for my B-Day!

Was just wondering if any of you would be there, maybe we could grab a beer (or 50) in the muni-lot before the game? *DRINK* (First found is on me!)

After languishing for years as a backup, then having his chance to start derailed by a torn ACL last year, Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer knows to appreciate every moment.

But after beating the tar out of the Steelers 31-10 yesterday, and celebrating with a bunch of fans holding a ?This is Hoyer Country? sign, it was that much sweeter.

?It was very cool,? Hoyer said, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. ?To beat those guys that way feels good. The last time the Browns beat the Steelers, I was the backup quarterback for the Steelers. Knowing what the situation was playing Pittsburgh at home, I knew the crowd would be crazy. They did a great job. Even when it was 31-3, they stayed in it and they deserve it.?

Hoyer does too, and should have a few extra well-wishes today on his 29th birthday. He only had to throw 17 passes, and only completed eight of them, but he made enough plays to cruise. After being in so many last-minute finishes this year, it was the first time the Browns had beaten a division opponent by 20 or more points since Oct. 5, 2003.

?It was a little boring for me at the end,? Hoyer joked.

?He made some big throws,? Browns coach Mike Pettine said. ?I thought the touchdown to Jordan [Cameron] was outstanding. I don?t know if you can throw a better ball there. He handled it well. Then he handled, once we got the lead, just the huddle. That?s sometimes a difficult thing because when we?ve had some success with the no-huddle and then to kind of slow it down and take the air out of it a little bit ? he did a real good job as far as managing that, the calls and the play clock.?

While he?s still viewed as a bit of a temp given the first-rounder spent on Johnny Manziel, he?s 6-2 as a starter, and 4-1 at home, giving him plenty to celebrate.

this Sunday we get the Jags . I consider them dangerous . they haven't won a game yet but have played well . Bortles is playing well for them . he looks like a legit NFL QB .

No let downs after beating the Steelers we cant afford any slip ups .

my house will be nuts this Sunday . my live in GF is a Jags fan %)

She pulls for the Browns till they play the Jags then she is a real pain in the ass

CLEVELAND -- The value of running for more than 150 yards?

It sets up a key element in the Cleveland Browns' offense: Play-action.

In the 31-10 win over Pittsburgh, both of Brian Hoyer?s big chunk completions to Jordan Cameron came off play-action.

In total, Hoyer threw eight passes off play-action and completed five for 179 yards and a touchdown. His yards per attempt off play-action: 22.4. (All per ESPN Stats & Information)

When just dropping back and throwing, Hoyer was 3-for-9 for 38 yards.

In other Browns news coming off a stirring victory:

?Hoyer was 2-for-9 for 21 yards when throwing 14 yards or fewer, 6-for-8 for 196 yards when throwing for 15 yards or more. Discuss amongst yourselves.

?Injury and strategy forced the Browns to go a little conservative on the defensive game plan. With three linemen out to start and Armonty Bryant sidelined early, the Browns had just three defensive linemen left. Because of that they barely blitzed, something that was part of the initial strategy to limit Ben Roethlisberger?s big plays. Coach Mike Pettine joked with defensive coordinator Jim O?Neil at the end of the game that the defensive play calls from the game could have fit on the back of a business card. ?A cocktail napkin at the most,? Pettine said.

?Why was Terrance West inactive? From Pettine: ?There wasn?t anything infraction-wise there. It was purely a coaching decision. We have a lot of confidence in Terrence, but at the same time he needs to get some things cleaned up. He?s real good when he has the ball, but just in some of the other areas of the game, he needs to improve. It also comes back, when we have the type of depth and competition, it comes down to practice. We?ll be men of our words when we say whoever practices best will be up for the game.?

?Pettine said Paul Kruger needed an epidural before the game, which allowed him to play with a lower back issue. Kruger said he had a very painful week after his back locked up on him at practice on Wednesday.

?The first long throw to Jordan Cameron -- when Hoyer threw across the field left to right -- was seen often in practice in OTAs and in training camp. Every time, the offense got the better of the defense. Once, Ishmaa?ily Kitchen was chasing Cameron down the field.

?Kitchen, John Hughes and Desmond Bryant deserve a lot of credit for playing so well with three other linemen out. At some points of the game, Jabaal Sheard returned to his old position of down end.

?Pettine said the Browns may look into signing a center to replace Alex Mack, who is likely done for the season with a broken leg. The offseason signing of Paul McQuistan proved helpful, as he played guard when John Greco moved to center.

?The team?s eight rushing touchdowns doubles the entire total from last season.

?Joe Thomas on the win: ?We had so many injuries across the board, it?s hard to believe we could beat a college team.?

?The final word, from Pettine: ?We?re just, I think, very thankful as a staff that we?ve had the success that we?ve had because that just further cements the buy-in. These guys just kind of gave themselves to us in the spring -- a bunch of no-name coaches, very different schemes from what they were doing -- and they bought in. Just the success that we?re having, like I said, will just further cement that.?

Tests confirmed Browns Pro Bowl center Alex Mack fractured his fibula in Sunday's win over the Steelers, reports CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora.

The injury is expected to end Mack's season, a league source told La Canfora. It's a devastating blow for the Browns. Mack had not missed a snap in his six-year career until Sunday.
