I agree 100% Stopper...I think he was considered a commodity that will not help the team...

But I also agree 100% with Lym, there is no reason to cut him just to say you did.

I assumed, Lym, we would have heard of a signing already. They usually go hand and hand. That is what I was alluding to. I didn't mean they cut him to see if they could sign someone else. At this point, the roster is fluid, but a cut almost always is due to a signing. I just hadn't heard of a signing and wondered who it might be.

At this point, I can only assume Bennett did something to piss someone off and they didn't want him back at the facility. It is such a rarity that they just cut a guy...just because...Why give another team the opportunity to pick him up if he could help them?

Andre Johnson isn't going any where, but back to training camp with the Texans. It is cap heavy for them to trade/cut him and it wouldn't benefit them/him at this point. He will get over his little fit and he will be receiving passes from Ryan Fitzpatrick.

I'll do a drunken champagne soaked inflatable swan ride if the Browns win it all.....no problem. actually been planning that for years anyway, but it's been a much longer wait then i originally anticipated. Still waiting to seize my moment, but oh what a glorious one it will be...... guess I'll have to "one up" Johnny a bit, and do it across an Ohio sheet of ice in February. lol!

    THE Ryan Fitzpatrick?

    Yep, the one and only...

Don't sleep on him though...I am saying right now, he is going from an extremely ordinary roster to an extraordinary roster and I can easily see him making the biggest improvement of any QB in the NFL in 2014. This man has weapons all around him and what should be, on paper anyway, the best defense in the NFL.

  10. I just read on Sports Nation that the Browns cut Bennett. I still for the life of me don't understand the Browns NOT drafting a WR. At least somewhere in the draft. I am a Browns fan but without Gordon this is the weakest position on the field in a pass happy league. The way I look at we needed another WR with or w/o Gordon. As I said before teams will blitz the crap out of us and stuff the box to stop the run. With an upgraded but injury prone RB that doesn't look good. Hoyer isn't Joe Montana. I hope that Farmer is on the horn and dangling an early pick to get a WR. I mean we are looking at 3 early picks here. I hope our pick is not in the top 5 again. But that Buffalo pick could be. If the norm happens and we both are picking in the top 10 or 3 picks in the top 35 then pull the trigger. I dont know who is on the block but they have to be better than we have now with Gordon out. And lets face it, he may get suspended again after this.

  12. Yeah I get it! But the fact still remains that this team has no one to throw to. Hawkins yeah but doesn't get me excited. Burleson, NOT! Cameron yeah he's a stud. But teams will double team him. The reason why I brought this up was because of what I read on Sports Nation. It said the Browns ARE looking for a WR. Then I started thinking again, if they knew of the suspension then why didn't they draft a WR. I like some of the picks they made. I really like the top 2. I didn't know that much about the tackle they drafted but I have heard good things about him before the draft from Grossi. I heard he was playing guard. Which is a position of need. So then I thought maybe Gordon is going to get suspended. I figured it would be for 4-6 games at least. So I guess a agree with the article. Gordon is unreliable. Even after this suspension he could get caught again. THEN WHAT! This team is in no shape or form to be like the Cavs waiting for James to come back. They need to move forward. I know he will have no trade value now, so we will have to wait and see. But with or without him this is a weak WR corp. Maybe they want to pound the football and play defense. If that leads to wins that will be fine. But if they were smart next year 1 of those 1st rd. picks should be a WR!

Right now they are not giving their QB's a fair chance to succeed. Depending on who I could get I would have every GM on speed dial trying to get a WR! Then if Gordon really is a bonehead you move on next year.

If the draft falls right, both of those picks could be WRs, because they didn't panic and take one in 2014. They stuck to their board and filled holes...no, they didn't fill the WR hole, but that wasn't the only hole and they have attempted to fill that as good as possible so far with veteran moves. I agree, even with these moves, it is the most glaring weakness on the team, especially if Gordon is gone for the entire season. (I wish they would just tell us already). However, I also believe Bitonio could make a bigger impact than Marquise Lee as I see their offensive philosophy developing before my eyes.

We won't know for sure what the holes for the 2015 draft will be until after this season...We may need a TE if Cameron doesn't re-sign...However, the 2014 draft filled holes and that is why I think it will be a success. Sticking to your board is what gives you the tools to advance. I think they did that, so we have to deal with the fact a WR that dominates isn't in our near future...but...with any luck Gordon will only be gone for 6-8 games and the second half of the season will improve even more....COME ON!! Just tell us already!

I don't think the QBs have no chance of success though, that will depend on the schemes developed per defense they face. There is always room for success, given the right game plan.

A husband and wife are shopping in their local supermarket. The husband picks up a case of Budweiser and puts it in their cart.

"What do you think you're doing?" asks the wife.

"They're on sale, only $10 for 24 cans" he replies.

"Put them back, we can't afford them" demands the wife, and so they carry on shopping.

A few aisles farther on along the woman picks up a $20 jar of face cream and puts it in the basket..

"What do you think you're doing?" asks the husband.

"It's my face cream. It makes me look beautiful," replies the wife.

Her husband retorts: "So does 24 cans of Budweiser and it's half the price."

I like how they brought up West and Tate, it would be interesting if Cleveland found a way to put them both on the field in a similar fashion.
