Comparing Gordan's off field issues to Little's on field issues is, basically, a mute point. Gordan's off field issues prevent him from being on the field. Little's on field issues now prevent him from being on the field (at least as a Brown). Neither of these guys will contribute one iota to the Browns in 2014 (or perhaps beyond).
I posted this yesterday without comment because I wanted to see what discussion it would start. I'm surprised that no one stated the obvious. All they have to show for it; two top six picks (#6 in 2011 and #4 in 2012), a third rounder in 2011, a fifth and a seventh in 2012, and a third rounder in 2014, even after getting the extra four picks from the Julio trade is one starter and maybe a top flight QB. This ^^^^ explains, without a shadow of doubt, why Holmgren, Heckert, Banner and Lombardi are no longer with the Browns. I also believe it contributed to Jimmy Haslam's thought process when he allowed Chud to be released after only one year. Using Tennessee logic: "There's no education in being kicked by a mule for the second time".
I was comparing both their off the field issues since Top Dawg was talking bout his tickets and fines....obviously not on field production
So prophetic. Happy monday all. Ive heard all the stuff with the QB coach, heard the national media ripping the owner and the team and I think it is ridiculous. In no way, shape or form do I think "go get him" was JimBob laying down the law. From everything else I have read, he has been in the loop with how the draft board was layed out and with all of the details of the scouting. He has every right to be. I think he was merely showing that they're all on the same page. If this were any other player it would not be the same story. It is just the talking heads trying to find something to fill in the "now now now" 24/7 news cycle that we live in now. 10 yrs ago, this would have been a non story. We dont have an owner who thinks he's a GM. We have one who takes a genuine interest in how his team performs and wants to turn this thing around for all of us.
What's up Browns fans. I've seen a lot of people speaking negatively about the team because of the draft (not signing a WR) and I just don't get it. Cleveland had a great draft imo. They have suitable WRs as of now so long as Austin's hammy works for more than 10 games (plus I think Gordon gets his sentence reduced). Personally, I'm hoping the team uses all this negative talk as fuel to hit the ground running on week 1 and week 2. Of course I'm hoping that first loss is in week 3 *DRINK*
Question for Browns fans. With all the talk of Andre Johnson being unhappy in Houston, how would you guys feel about a trade for the dominant 33 year old WR with a $10M a year contract? And if you'd like the trade, what is the most you'd want the team to give up in terms of draft picks?
Moot point if you ask me... A. Johnson is unhappy because he's playing for a team that rarely makes the post season, why in the hell would he want to come to Cleveland?
Josh Gordon's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is in the process of appealing his client's suspension. Very few details have emerged since ESPN broke the news of Gordon's latest positive drug test 10 days ago. We still don't know if he's in Stage 2 or 3 of the league's substance abuse program or how long the suspension is for. We do know that the NFL is capable of handing down a season-long ban for repeat offenders like Gordon, but an appeal will be heard. SI's Peter King has previously suggested a ban ranging anywhere from eight to 16 games. Gordon is expected to participate in this week's OTAs.
I have to agree with JYD . Johnson is unhappy on the Texans he wont be happy in Cleveland . we are still rebuilding ..since 64 maybe during the season a contending team may trade for him ?
I guess I don't look at I that way. To me, the Browns have been a team that was a QB and possibly RB away from contention. You may have just found both in the draft but now you could be a WR away. But I can see your angle
I'm not being a hater... Houston has been to the playoffs twice since Johnson has been in the league in ten years, in that same span, Cleveland has come close ONCE! Johnson is unhappy with recent history... Recent history suggests that he wouldn't be happier (and probably more upset) wearing the Brown and Orange! I would LOVE for them to get him, but it's not gonna happen!
Hey, I'm with you on this JYD. I'm merely pointing out the savage hypocrisy around here with some posters who get their jollies down-voting the dissenters.
[h]Happy Monday Lounge Houndz[/h] *HI* I am busy catching up after being out for the last several days. A few things that caught my eye? Just saying good, bad or indifferent the big top is up and running. Stay Tuned, tomorrow will bring something new or not so new with a different twist. Much like the reports regarding the "come get me text" he sent. %) I am ok with the pick and as any loyal BROWNS fan I will support ?the guy? this regime selected as it?s QB. The proof will come when he gets his chance on the field. Just wondering how many Twisted Kilt long necks had been consumed prior to post. *SCRATCH* *CRAZY* Not sure yet how I feel about the WR corp after signing of Bennett and Austin. Seems too much like the Burleson signing. IF they stay healthy we could have a fairly solid WR corp (Austin more so than Bennett). I?m not opposed to these signings, but am not sure I?m excited about them either. More later?
