The Browns have officially signed LB Zac Diles, QB Tyler Thigpen, and QB Vince Young

In case you were wondering . . . (like me) *SCRATCH*

    Zac Diles: 6'0" 240#

Diles was a two-year starter at Fresno City College in 2003 and 2004. He totaled 70 tackles in 2004 and 60 in 2003. In his two seasons the team had a 16-5 record and in 2004 Diles was named All.CVC

He finished his college career at Kansas State. He did not start in 2005 at Kansas State but still finished fourth on the team with 50 tackles (27 solos), adding two sacks, a pair of quarterback pressures, 5.5 stops behind the line of scrimmage and three forced fumbles. Diles earned honorable mention All-Big 12 in 2006. He ranked second on the team and eighth in the conference with 99 tackles (38 solos) while starting all 13 games at middle linebacker. He added 3.5 sacks with two pressures and was credited with 7.5 stops for losses. He recovered one fumble, deflected two passes and intercepted another.

In 24 games at Kansas State, Diles started 13 contests. He produced 149 tackles (65 solos) with 5.5 sacks, 13 stops for losses and four pressures. He caused three fumbles, recovered another, knocked down two passes and had one interception.

The Browns are his eighth NFL team (he had two stints with the Titans).

For consideration of 2nd place Dumbazz of the Day:

Canadian man Donald Popadick is accused of exposing his genitalia in Mooney's Bay Park, according a police release tweeted Ottawa Police Sgt. Iain Pidcock.

On April 14, police started getting reports that a white, adult male in his 60's was flashing people in the park. Tuesday at around 9:00 a.m., police say Popadick flashed someone on the pathway while police were nearby.

Popadick was charged with indecent exposure.

I think "Dumbass of the Day" deserves it's own thread.

There?s plenty of time to go before Browns cornerback Joe Haden?s contract expires after the 2014 season, but the Browns and Haden?s representatives are continuing the extension discussions that they started back in February.

Haden wants to remain in Cleveland and says that the team?s brass has sent him the message that they want him to remain around, which is a good starting place for any negotiation. Eager though he may be to get a deal done, Haden plans to let that negotiation take its course while he focuses on football.

?I?m just trying to ball,? Haden said, via the Cleveland Plain Dealer. ?The business thing, it is a business and everybody has to understand that, too. The team wants to do what they got to do. Players are going to do what they want to do, so I?m just trying to ball right now. I?ve got a really good agent and he?s handling that part.?

Haden is playing for his fourth different head coach and third front office regime since the Browns made him a first-round choice in 2010, but he has been one of the few bright spots for the team through all of those changes. Whether it is with a new deal or via a tag next year, we?d expect that continues for at least two more seasons.

The Browns exercised the fifth-year option on DL Phil Taylor?s rookie contract. Taylor is now under contract through the 2015 season.

AWSOME I was thinking they werent going to retain big Phil .

  16. I am 95% sure the Browns are taking Manziel at #4....their making it 2 obvious their not taking him....welcome Johnny football

  17. TopDawg Legend

Yeah I agree SS....The whole way through they have been tryin so hard to make it look like they AREN'T taking a QB at #4, it just makes me think they ultimately will...Though I'm not 95% sure. More like 50/50. Because I have no freaking idea what Ray Farmer wants to do. One minute, I'm sure he's gotta go QB.....The next, I'm thinkin he want's Watkins, and deal for the QB later. lol! This truly is a huge draft for Cleveland. One thing you gotta admit about those front office clowns that got canned. They did have their main focus on the 2014 draft...It's all up to RF now.

  18. Mayb those guys planted the seed w Farmer bout Manziel....lets not hope he tries and play tough guy cause everyone knew that was Lombardi's guy and he wants to do his own thing.

    I am;
50% sure it is a QB at #4
50% sure it is a WR at #4
50% sure it is a LB at #4
50% sure it is a OT at #4
50% sure it is a DE at #4
    and
50% sure it is a CB at #4

Wait... *WRITE* , what does that add up to?

    *SCRATCH*

5 days 11 hours away!! *DANCE*

I've been thinking and now feel that Watkins will be gone by the time #4 rolls around.

o Texans - Pretty convinced it's either Clowney or Manziel.

o Rams - Fisher thumbs his nose at his own draft history and goes Offensive Tackle.

o Jaguars - Blackmon is history for 2014 (maybe forever). Sammy Watkins, welcome to Jacksonville.
