Reuters) -- Legendary rockers Led Zeppelin said on Wednesday they will include previously unreleased songs in the first batch of reissues of their nine studio albums, including a version of their pulsating "Whole Lotta Love." The reissues, remastered by guitarist Jimmy Page, will be launched on June 3 with deluxe editions of "Led Zeppelin", "Led Zeppelin II" and "Led Zeppelin III." Each album will include a second disc of unreleased music related to that album. "The material on the companion discs presents a portal to the time of the recording of Led Zeppelin," Page is quoted as saying in a statement from the band. "It is a selection of work in progress with rough mixes, backing tracks, alternate versions, and new material recorded at the time." The companion audio for the band's 1969 debut album "Led Zeppelin" features a previously unreleased performance recorded in October of that year at the Olympia Theatre in Paris. The nine-song set features seven tracks from the album, including a 15-minute version of "Dazed And Confused." "Led Zeppelin II" features some of the band's most famous tracks including "Ramble On" and "Heartbreaker" as well as "Whole Lotta Love," a fixture in the pantheon of classic rock 'n' roll songs. Its companion audio contains alternate mixes of five songs from the album, including "Whole Lotta Love", plus backing tracks to "Thank You" and "Living Loving Maid (She's Just A Woman)," and the previously unreleased track "La La." The nine tracks featured on the companion audio to "Led Zeppelin III" include outtakes of songs from the album as well as three previously unheard compositions: "Jennings Farm Blues," "Bathroom Sound," and the band's take on the blues classics "Keys To The Highway/Trouble In Mind." Led Zeppelin was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005 and a year later was awarded the Polar Music Prize in Stockholm. Founding members John Paul Jones, Page and Robert Plant -- along with Jason Bonham, the son of drummer John Bonham, who died in 1980, the year the band broke up -- gave a tribute concert at London's O2 Arena in 2007 for the late Ahmet Ertegun, founder of the band's label, Atlantic. Band members have since discounted the prospect of another reunion. [:}

From Cleveland.com The Browns demote Bernie Kosar, who was frank, knowledgeable and beloved -- Bill Livingston CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Demoting Bernie Kosar from television commentary on exhibition games is not a bad PR move by the Browns. It's a horrible move. Solomon Wilcots instead. A former Bengal and Steeler? Really? What, a former Raven isn't available? Whatever job Kosar gets on the Browns' website or radio or some other team forum, I know I'll miss Kosar's insight, humor and frankness when he had the broadcast audience. It was some frank, quarterback-bashing remarks about St. Louis' Kellen Clemens that landed Kosar in hot water with the long-gone, little-missed Joe Banner. You remember the now deposed Banner, Hotspur Haslam's hand-picked top lieutenant? Banner was the guy who always looked like somebody had been flatulent nearby, due to the perpetual scowl/sneer he had pasted on his face. Kosar vs. Banner? Boy, that's a tough one. There's Kosar -- a guy who drafted the Browns as much as the other way around, played with physical limitations behind an offensive line that was never a big priority, coped with a changing cast of coaches and coordinators, took the Browns to the brink of the Super Bowl three times on the strength of his video study and recognition of defensive tendencies, and bled for the team and the fans -- on the one hand. And there's Banner -- the guy who plighted his troth, professionally anyway, with Mike Lombardi, king of front office intrigue, in cahoots with whom Banner deferred most of the 2013 draft to 2014 -- on the other hand. It was a bad show all the way around, the overreaction to Kosar's criticism. Peter King of Sports Illustrated went on Twitter, speculating about Kosar's documented dependency struggles after football. It was not a good moment by a respected writer. I've had those moments, too. If you really swing the bat in a column, you risk the chance that you will swing and miss at times. You can overdo it and overswing other times. I've taken some shots at people in my career I wish I had back. There was the Browns' Earnest Byner, whom I apologized to, and the Indians' Ernie Camacho, to whom I should have. But at least my criticism was only about their performances on the field. I seriously don't recall anything approaching the Bernie-must-be-drinking rumors for being nasty and personal. Maybe Kosar was off base on his comments about Clemens. Kosar apologized. Under duress, but he still apologized. Should have been the end of the story. At the very least, muting Kosar, or giving him a smaller platform than TV, or however the Browns spin it, continues the bland-leading-the-bland type of broadcasting that is a Cleveland staple. One of the best NBA analysts in the business, Matt Guokas, got sacked by the Cavs because he didn't wear pom-poms on the air. Wilcots might do a fine job. For the sake of people who have to watch exhibition games, and Browns exhibitions at that, I hope he does. But he won't have Kosar's background here, or his emotional resonance with the fans as the best player on the last teams that were consistent contenders. I doubt if Wilcots will have Bernie's way of explaining a play, which is close to that of a professor explaining a difficult passage in a book. In that regard, I don't think his skills have diminished. He should have been allowed to do whatever he wanted to. They owe him.
DUFF!!! *HI* Good to see you *DANCE* We sure do miss your Kool-Aid That stuff that Irish has been brewing and drinking lately has put him in charge of the... Spoiler That does look like it could be a brutal start to the season *THIS* Pettine and the boys are just going to have to suck it up and play some good ball.
Several players picked in the first round of the 2011 draft have already found out whether or not their teams will be exercising options for the fifth year of their contracts by May 3, but others are still waiting to see what will happen. Browns defensive tackle Phil Taylor is in the latter group and he knows what he wants the Browns to do. Taylor would like to have his option, which would set him up to make about $5.5 million, exercised so that he can remain in Cleveland. ?I would love to be here, but that?s not up to me,? Taylor said, via Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal. ?So we?re going to wait and see what [the front office] is going to do about it.? Taylor started 15 games last season, but only played 555 snaps as a two-down player used to thwart opposing running games. The switch to Mike Pettine as head coach will bring a different defensive look and could bring Taylor more playing time, but, obviously, Cleveland has to make a call on Taylor before they see how he fits into the new scheme. That option is guaranteed against injury only, which gives the Browns some flexibility but they may prefer the freedom to hold off on any call until the season has played out.
Crex you owe me a new keyboard as I just spit coffee all over mine after I looked at that spoiler Duff welcome back buddy ..now get yer ass back to brewing up the good stuff like only you can *DRINK*
Former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar says concussions suffered during his NFL career have caused him to develop a speech problem, which in turn led to his dismissal as the color commentator for Browns preseason games. ?I was informed yesterday by the Cleveland Browns and WKYC that I have been replaced as a 2014 preseason game day color commentator,? Kosar said in a statement, via Tom Reed of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. ?I believe that this decision stems from my slurred speech impairment, which is a direct result of the many concussions I received while playing in the NFL.? Kosar?s slurred speech was noticeable when he was hired for the job, however, which raises the question of why he would get fired for it now if the Browns and WKYC didn?t have any problem with his speech at the time they hired him. It seems much more likely that Kosar?s unprofessional comments during a preseason game last year, and the DUI Kosar got a month later, caused the Browns and WKYC to conclude that he?s not someone they want representing them. But Kosar believes he?s the right person for the job. ?I would hope that WKYC would reconsider utilizing my in-game talents and overlook my concussion-induced impairment,? Kosar said. That?s probably not going to happen. But Kosar?s comments will, if nothing else, cause the lawyers for the Browns and the NFL to take notice: At a time when concussion litigation is a major concern in pro football, this is a prominent former player claiming that concussions are costing him the opportunity to make a living now that his playing days are over. Give it a rest Bernie please !
Brandin Cooks is not the No. 1 prospect in the 2014 NFL Draft. He?s not even regarded as the top player at his position. Nevertheless, Cooks may be the most sure-fire, can?t-miss prospect in this talent-rich draft. The top of the draft is loaded with players who possess elite skill and tremendous potential, but none of them escape concerns related to their performance, character or medical history. Does Jadeveon Clowney possess the work ethic to maximize his once-in-a-generation talent? (He does.) Can Johnny Manziel develop into an effective NFL quarterback? (He might.) Questions even surround the top two wide receiver prospects, Sammy Watkins (size) and Mike Evans (maturity), both of whom are projected as top-10 picks. (See how Watkins is refining his wide receiver skills for the next level.) What you see is what you get with Cooks, who won the Biletnikoff Award as the most outstanding wide receiver in college football last season. As a junior at Oregon State, he broke Pac-12 single-season records with 128 receptions and 1,730 receiving yards. Cooks was also the star of the pre-draft process, parlaying his record-breaking season with a dynamic performance at the NFL Combine, which sent his draft stock skyrocketing toward the first round. Medical concerns? Cooks hasn?t missed a game throughout his high school and collegiate careers. This isn?t to say Cooks should land in the top 10. But a wide receiver-needy team owning a mid- to late-first-round pick will find tremendous value in the dynamic Cooks. He says, ?Check the stats and the production. Now it?s all about going to prove it. That?s my mentality. I?m thinking that I?m the best receiver in this draft. Come stop me.? CLEVELAND -- The NFL wasted no time in introducing Mike Pettine to the AFC North. In his first regular season game as an NFL head coach, Pettine will lead the Browns into Heinz Field to take on the rival Pittsburgh Steelers. ?Browns at Steelers in Week 1, in your first game as an NFL head coach? It doesn?t get any better than that," Pettine said. "I love this division." The league released the 2014 regular season schedule for all 32 teams on Wednesday night. The Browns' slate is highlighted by a primetime Thursday night match-up at Cincinnati on November 6, a game that will be televised nationally on NFL Network. Alright cheerleaders, let's hear your projections. I already heard on Bull & Fox that this could be a 7/9 win football team if Hoyer is healthy. Remember just about all of you had this team winning 7/9 games last year. For me its still to early I know. I'm just hoping they win 5/6 games. As you all know, I don't expect much from the Browns. After the draft and preseason I'll make my projections. Just hope that they dont Browns this draft. Meaning blow it again.
Duff, I love Bernie, and I am personally disappointed that he was taken off the broadcast staff. On the other hand I can accept that as an organization he is difficult to hold him up as representative of the team. He may well have a speech problem as a result of the concusions, but having a history of substance abuse coupled with the slurred speech makes it too easy to link the two, thereby diminishing Bernie in the eyes of many. Most of all I want to see Bernie happy, healthy, and his legacy intact. I fear more air time may have the opposite effect, and his contributions to Cleveland shouldn't be allowed to be marred by exposing a Bernie who has suffered the loss of his communicaton skills, amidst his personal demons. For me, leave the vanilla on the networks, give me the Nutty Coconut flavor for those quasi pro games in preseason. If the team can find a way to keep Bernie a Brown, do it! He is Browns history. The last time most of us could "see the Super Bowl" as a legitimate goal for the boys in Orange and Brown. I want the share the day we get there with Bernie in attendance..... and hand him the mike ........ Now that would be fun!
we all love Bernie . he is one of us .I hope they can find a place for him . maybe be the Browns Ambassador or some other title . they need to keep him around .
Ohio State CB Bradley Roby was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while impaired in Columbus, Ohio last weekend. It's a misdemeanor. According to Roby's agent, his blood-alcohol content was a "negligible .008," and he was "very quickly released on his own recognizance." It's a bigger issue than it otherwise might be because Roby was accused of battery last summer, though the charges were eventually dropped. Roby is a first-round talent who could slide to day two. Knuckle head welcome to day 2 of the draft ..maybe . the last time I saw you Clemson WR Sammy Watkins made you his personal bitch .
