2011 Tim Tebow - 46.5% Completetion 12-TD's 6-INTS 72.9 QB Rating... Gee SAS, Impressive stats!
Keep in mind, Tim Tebow's "career" is 16 starts... one more than Weeden. [Career] Tim Tebow: 3,411 yards, 29 touchdowns, 11 turnovers Brandon Weeden: 3,496 yards, 14 touchdowns, 19 turnovers
Tim Tebow (2011): 18 total touchdowns, 6 INTs, 72.9 QBR Brandon Weeden (2012): 14 total touchdowns, 17 INTs, 72.6 QBR 18 > 14 6 > 14 (*as it relates to favorability) 72.9 > 72.6
Tebow also had 6 fumbles that season... Weeden threw an INT every 30.4 pass attempts... Tebow threw one every 45.1 pass attempts...
So did Weeden. He lost two of them. Timmy lost three. You realize you're proving my point... right? 45.1 > 30.4 Which means Tebow went longer between passes without INTs. Think of it in percentage terms: Tebow - 2.2%, Weeden 3.3%
Yeah, bad example, trying to dig through stats at work, got in a hurry :/ Here's the deal SAS, as much as you don't want to, you're gonna have to come to grips with the fact that Weeden is starting and playing the season (barring an injury)... He's our guy, you can either sit back and hope he fails so *you're right* and a genius (if only in your own world/mind) or you can back him up and root for him!
The shakeup of the Browns? scouting department has begun. According to three sources, the Browns have parted ways with Pat Roberts, the clubs?s senior national scout. ESPNCleveland?s Bruce Hooley broke the story Monday afternoon on Twitter, and then reported it on ?The Hooligans? on 850 WKNR. Roberts had been with the Browns eight years, the last three as the team?s senior scout. Roberts was hired as a national scout by former General Manager Phil Savage in 2005. He survived three management regimes. Prior to joining the Browns, Roberts worked in various roles in the Chicago Bears scouting department. A source told Hooley that Roberts was told by the club not to attend the draft last weekend. Another source told ESPN Cleveland that ?a handful of personnel people? also were told not to attend the draft. They are expected to be let go, also. ESPN Cleveland has not confirmed their names. An upheaval was not unexpected. A source told Hooley that the Browns? scouts were not permitted to participate in the team?s last round of meetings leading up to the draft. Bob Welton, a college scout for nine years with the Browns, left the club before the draft to accept a position at the University of Tennessee.
Guys although Mingo was not a bad pick, trading down the CB or help for Weeden would have been nice. I blogged that I was happy with the pick at the time. I still really don't mind it now but what the hell happened in the rest of the draft? Ok I can even see the Bess move but with Gordon's 2nd round pick already gone, that 6th pick could have recooped a lot of picks needed to upgrade the team. Then to trade away picks for next year? What happened to this year? Then the #111 to the Steelers and they pick Thomas, what the hell? Then to say hey were going tough in the 6th and 7th, what the hell happened to the 4th and 5th? This was discusting guys. Most know I am a Rams and Browns fan. I thought that it was a good time for both teams to get rich and win now versus later. As with the Rams in the same division as the 49ers and Seahawks, the Browns have the Steelers, Ravens and Bengals. The Rams get better and the Browns punt, that sucks. As happy as I am about the wheeling and dealing Fisher and Snead did for the Rams, move up, move down and then said in the 5th, hey lets trade both 6ths for a guy we want in the 5th and be done. The Browns played for the next draft not this season. I don't get it. I am sorry to be so negative but I care about the Browns and the fans that have been crapped on since the rat bastard skipped out. I thought new ownership would turn a corner, the GM doesn't have a clue, Crud doesn't have that many new tools and defense by itself can't win the division. I hope free agents after the draft are found to go into holes not addressed but waiting for next year is again something at my and Lyman's age is not a positive step in our waiting for a winner. Sorry for the negative.
Who couldn't see THAT (^^^^) coming. Five will get you ten they blame the piss poor late rounds on "lack of credible scouting".
I keep hearing echoes in the Bengals room next door. Go figure. They have built a pretty good squad and had a decent draft and not one, zero, nada poster has shown up here.
What are they going to say, "Look Browns fans there is always next year" You are right they did have a good draft, they got closer to the top and I guess we didn't care to climb.
It was that way on cBS . Cinncitucky is a baseball town . while we talk football year around they talk Reds down there year round . most of there fans are fair weather football fans who hate Mike Brown with a passion so they don't support them much . I wish we had the Bengals roster . they have turned it around in the draft the last few years and had another solid one this year . don't be surprised to see the Bengals in the playoffs again this year & of course Mike Brown has plenty of cap space . he refuses to spend .if he keeps drafting like he has been he wont have to . he will just let his players walk and fill in with someone new . its his way right or wrong .i can see why Bengal fans are pissed at Mike but a winning team ? if that was us we would be partying in the streets .. why the hell cant it be us ..sad face smiley
New Browns WR Davone Bess is second in the NFL in third-down receptions over the last five seasons. Bess' 130 third-down catches for the Dolphins since 2008 trails only Roddy White's 146. It's a role he can fill for the Browns as well, who struggled to move the chains with stone-handed Greg Little and deep burner Josh Gordon last season. They ranked 30th in the league in third-down efficiency at just 30.7 percent.
The Morning Kickoff ? The schedule game: Now that NFL training camp rosters are virtually set, it?s time to stroll through the Browns? 2013 schedule. Always remember, in the NFL it?s not who you play, it?s when you play them. We can?t predict injuries, suspensions, and surprises. What you see in April might not be what you get in November. Game 1, home v. Miami Dolphins: The draft?s two quickest (and thinnest) pass rushers launch their NFL careers against each other. Dion Jordan v. Barkevious Mingo. And then these sideshows: Brandon Weeden v. Ryan Tannehill. Mike Wallace v. Joe Haden. Game 2, at Baltimore Ravens: Paul Kruger returns to Baltimore for his first game against his former team. Ozzie Newsome personally delivers Kruger's Super Bowl ring. Game 3, at Minnesota Vikings: Adrian Peterson?s first meeting against the Browns in 2009: 25 carries, 180 yards, three touchdowns, including a 64-yard highlight reel jaunt. This will be the Browns? last, lamented visit to the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, one of the great eyesores in professional sports. Game 4, home v. Cincinnati Bengals: Just when you thought the Browns had seen the last of James Harrison, the great headhunter turns up in Bengals stripes. Past Browns victims Mohamed Massquoi, Josh Cribbs and Colt McCoy are all gone. Who?s next? Game 5, home v. Buffalo Bills: Will it be Kevin Kolb running an up-tempo, no-huddle offense or EJ Manuel operating the zone read option? Regardless, this NFL Network prime-time matchup of familiar non-playoff sufferers raises the possibility of another instant classic. Pick the score: 6-3 or 8-0? Game 6, home v. Detroit Lions: A regular-season renewal of the hallowed Great Lakes Classic. Carmen Policy and Matt Millen are on hand as honorary coin-tossers. Dust off the barge! Game 7, at Green Bay Packers: CBS lead broadcaster Jim Nantz speculated that if both teams got off to decent starts, this could be the network?s lead national game. So, c?mon Packers, don?t let us down. Win some games early. Game 8, at Kansas City Chiefs: Former Eagles coach Andy Reid vs. former boss Joe Banner. Notorious NFL Network Reid critic Mike Lombardi evades a pre-game handshake. Game 9, home vs. Baltimore Ravens: Browns seek to end five-year home losing streak against Ravens. In pre-game ceremonies, former Browns GM George Kokinis is inducted into the Browns Ring of Honor. Game 10, at Cincinnati Bengals: Former Bengals kicker Shayne Graham returns to Paul Brown Stadium in a Browns uniform. Bengals President Mike Brown collects past due locker rental fee after the game. Game 11, home v. Pittsburgh Steelers: Prior to kickoff, Pittsburgh rookie safety Shamarko Thomas presents Banner with a box of chocolates in appreciation of the draft-weekend trade that enabled the Steelers to select him. Game 12, home v. Jacksonville Jaguars: Former Browns receiving legend Mohamed Massaquoi and Browns rookie cornerback Leon McFadden conduct a duel for the ages. Game 13 at New England Patriots: Away from pre-game warmups, Bill Belichick, Patriots backup quarterback Ryan Mallett and Lombardi huddle with team attorneys to exchange post-season trade proposals. Game 14, home v. Chicago Bears: Browns coach candidate Marc Trestman sends Banner flowers before the game, with the note: ?Thanks, again.? Game 15, at New York Jets: Quarterback Geno Smith is ambushed for 10 sacks and turns it over four times in the Browns? first-ever victory in MetLife Stadium. Game 16, at Pittsburgh Steelers: Thad Lewis renews his rivalry with the Steelers in the annual JV finale against Pittsburgh.
BEREA ? Davone Bess was brought in by the Browns to provide that veteran voice in the team?s still-youthful receiving corps. And it?s a voice the six-year pro is more than ready to jump into as he arrives from Miami. ?Obviously, they have a bunch of young guys there who had pretty good seasons last year,? Bess told reporters in a conference call Monday. ?(They?re) young, hungry, intelligent. To come in and just share my knowledge and be able to help out a group not only from a physical, playmaking standpoint, but just more mental and just understanding the game of football from an X?s and O?s standpoint.? Bess, acquired from the Dolphins on Friday in a swap of mid-to-late-round picks, is the second veteran receiver acquired by Cleveland during the offseason. The Browns also signed former Buffalo receiver David Nelson as a free agent. Those two will join a receiving corps that is led by a pair of promising young players in Josh Gordon and Greg Little. Gordon, picked last year in the supplemental draft, caught 50 passes for 805 yards and five touchdowns in his rookie season. Little, who was in his second season last year, had 53 catches for 647 yards and four touchdowns. ?... I?ve always been a fan of football, so I know a bunch of players on each team in the league that I follow,? Bess said. ?Also, I?m really looking forward to joining this group of receivers. I?ve been watching this group of receivers and they?re young, talented, and I?m just looking forward to being part of the mix.? Bess comes from the Dolphins after a 61-catch, 778-yard performance last season. In his first five seasons out of the University of Hawaii, he has averaged just over 64 catches for roughly 690 yards. Expected to play a role in the slot for the Browns, he also is being counted on to help make the big third-down catches to keep drives alive. That was something the offense struggled with last season. ?I take extreme pride in being productive in converting on third down,? Bess said. ?I think a big part of it was obviously the opportunity that the coaches put me in, and giving me the ability to put me in certain situations and being able to find a mismatch and letting me do what I do. ?But from that standpoint, just studying, watching my opponents and kind of having that chip on my shoulder and watching that bull?s-eye when third down comes or fourth down or whatever the case may be, watching that bull?s-eye and wanting to get it done.? I know I sound smart, but that's just because I stayed at a Holiday Inn the night before I wrote that... I'm not really a professional scout..
Honestly Irish I think you have a better eye for talent than Spoiler Even if it is becasue you stayed at the Holiday Inn Express
