Oh. Excuse me. I completely forgot that you have this unique ability to read my mind and know EXACTLY what and why I was posting. (drops gloves) PHUQUE YOU !
I'm not reading your mind. I'm reading your posts. In reaction to the news that Gordon is being shopped you posted a funny video about smoking pot. In reaction to my most recent post (9 mins later) you post the smart azz comment. I'm not a mind reader but I'm not stupid either. I'm not sure who appointed you the king of what is and what is not appropriate to discuss but it's getting old and I don't appreciate it. PHUQUE YOU BACK
Beach, what you don't know (yes, there are some things you don't know) is that I also have been having some problems with my computer whereas I just lose my internet connectivity. I have traced it back to an issue with the Windows 8 OS installed. So, during your nine minute smoking gun, I was actually off line trying to re-establish my internet connection. Want proof? (Not that I feel the need to provide it) Ask Tim. I had a PM conversation about a different topic and mentioned this W8 problem to him earlier today. So, if you don't appreciate what I post, take your butt hurt self back to the Steelers board and argue some more with those folks -or- simply ignore mine. Your choice.
Deleted two prior posts, not sure if everyone is joking here or not. How much of a price can be paid for Gordon, an obvious game changer with obvious character issues and who will be willing to pay that price? Atlanta on the heels of the White injury and the record of 1-4? San Francisco, a team that is in need of a play-maker with Crabtree out. Detroit? Opposite of Johnson would be a great place for Gordon to be. Would Indy look to add another former Browns weapon? How high of a pick would any of these teams give up for Josh?
Whatever Lym, none of that explains the fact that you already weighed in on the Josh Gordon news. Like I said, I'm not a mind-reader but I'm not stupid either. You are the one passing judgment on posts here Lym - not me. I'm simply letting you know I'm tired of being judged by you. I have every right to come in and correct something Irish said about a Steelers player just like you have every right to weigh into a conversation on the Steelers board about the Browns "leaving" Cleveland.
Gordon? I gotta admit I am concerned about this highly talented zebra, not being able to change his stripes, and losing him at some point in the not too distant future. At the same time it signals the end of this season in ways Trent's deal never did. We won 0 with Trent, and are 3 & 0 with Gordon on the field. I'm not saying he's the singular reason for the wins, but his presence has changed how teams defense us, and without him IMO we don't impose any fear, allow teams to shrink the area of field they need to defend. I don't believe there is a legitimate argument other wise, so it smells like surrender. I think the success mgt had in the TR trade has made them think they can do no wrong, but I believe this is a very different situation. Gordon has been a difference maker, and OK I get the desire to have a franchise QB, even agree with that, but two things: #1 if we dump Gordon, how long til we have that kind of target/weapon for our shiny new QB to throw to, and to loosing defenses, and #2 Picking a franchise QB is still a crap shoot, one with better odds, but no guarantee. Gordon can be an important weapon for years, and I'd like the team make a commitment to helping him to understand how personally valuable it is for him to walk the line, and secure his future. I know nothing can guarantee he won't lapse, but on the flip side there is no guarantee we become better with a 2nd round pick from a team who will likely finish in the top 3rd of the NFL, making that pick marginal in securing the slot you think you need to get "the Qb" who actually will be the man. I don't want to trade healines for wins. Take the cudos for trading Trent and making that work, but don't start smelling yourself. Gordon makes you a better team. That is a fact. He "may" implode, we "may" find a comparable talent. Which represents the highest risk? Not a fan of trading him, but with all this scuttlebutt floating around, gotta think Gordon is feeling less committed to the Browns, and that can't help. It practically sets up the need to move him. With rumors constantly circulating does Gordon respond with more intense play to convince them he should stay, or as an audition for his next team, or does his play fall off because he feels like he shouldn't risk injury so he can find his future elsewhere?
Not quite sure how posting a video clip of a song about smoking pot qualifies as "weighing in on the Josh Gordon news". And, you're right about having the right to correct someone else's post if they posted erroneously. Knock yourself out. (OBTW: I personally think Thomas is going to end up being a pretty decent addition to the Steelers in time.) But you are dead wrong if you think I'm judging you or anyone else on here. So, don't be surprised if I actually do "weigh in" at a later time about the Josh Gordon news.
kendawg, A question I would have would be how much confidence does Gordon have in Weeden and does he play the same for Brandon as he does for Hoyer? It seemed to me that Crabtree was 2 different players with Smith and Kaepernick, is there any similarity here?
Julio Jones is out for the season.... do the Browns make a deal with the Falcons for Gordon? I hope not...
Tim, you'd like to think they are professionals, and that they give their all regardless, but they are human and pretty young at that, so only those guys in the locker room know. They looked crisper and more confident as a team with Hoyer, but they also stepped up and continued to play well with Weeds last week. I think Weeds has improved, and we just saw his first game with Gordon on the field with him, so I will remain optimistic, that the chnage we have seen is something we were building to. That the "team" has grown, and has gained confidence in each other. That they can succeed as a team, when they play together. Gordon, on the field is a difference maker. Just his lining up, opens things up for the O. How hard he plays on each down. ?????? I guess I still question his committment to consistently giving it his all, even when he isn't the primary guy. The beast mode he showed in his first game back hasn't IMO been seen since. Is that just the extra motivation or teams adjusting, I don't know, bu the trade rumors make me question if that is part of the reason he is on the block. Maybe mgt sees him as too mercurial, and just reinforces their concerns that he will be tokin again.
kendawg - With Lombardi you never can tell what the agenda is, IMO he will roll things in his direction and his only so if he does not view Gordon as one of 'his' guys it doesn't matter if Josh plays lights out or not. I think right now that they could strike one helluva deal to move him, Julio Jones may be out for the season and the Falcons are desperate for a win. If they could get a 2nd round selection from a team with 1 win this season would that be something the Browns fan-base would frown on?
That's the difference in going against the Vikings, then the Bengals, then the Bills with Weeden at QB IMHO
Wow, Roddy White, Julio Jones and Josh Gordon in 2014? That would be scary... How about trading Josh Gordon for Roddy White and a 3rd? That would free up about $5M per year for the Falcons for a 30+ year old receiver with injury issues, while giving the Browns a veteran next season to help with "their guy" they take in the 2014 draft...
Time changes things. 3 weeks ago, we were basement bound, and had a high prices RB who had thus far performed at "middle of the pack" levels, who we were able to bamboozle Indy into giving up a #1 for. No harm, no foul, and an opportunity to pursue a top quality QB prospect in the mix. NICE Now we hold a piece of first place. The division is completely up for grabs, the team is playing well, the D is virtually guaranteed to keep us close. A few plays on O and we get Ws out of a schedule with few giant slayers (GB and KC, but GB is sputtering, and I just don't believe in KC or A Reid for that matter). We need to go 500 from here out to be a contender: 5 or more likely 6 more wins and we are there. Yeah, I know that's more than we could muster in full seasons previously, but Pitt?, Balt ? Cinci?. No automatics, how could there be with the Browns, but also nobody we have to wave the white flag to either. Honestly if Weeds can get Ints down to 1 per game, and sacks to 3, I beleive our D and STs allow him to succeed by making a handful of plays. I think he can do that....... with Gordon. Without........ not so much.
