  1. So it looks as if the Browns are going to trade Gordon. I personally wouldn't take nothing but 2 picks for him. 1st and 3rd. If it is the 49ers it will be a late round pick. This is the 4th time where I have read the Browns are shopping Gordon. It's just on ESPN that the 49ers have a lot of picks to give. They are getting Maningham and Crabtree back real soon but they are ready to deal.

Like me I know a lot of you don't want to trade Gordon. If this trade goes through with anyone it will show me the Browns are tanking this season. With Weeden as your QB I cant say I blame them. This also shows me that Lombardi and Banner want 1 of those QB's coming out. Which again is fine with me. Because that's what I wanted. I wanted to suck for Boyd or Bridgewater. Like we should of done for Luck or RG3. 1 more season of terrible football will not kill us. It sucks but we've been through it not trying to tank. I think Banner and Lombardi want to make sure they get 1 of those QB's. That would be by trading some of those picks to move up.Or If we are tanking and end up picking 3/4 you can still get Mariota if he comes out. With 2 1st rd. picks to get who falls to you. Unless we get a WR and a pick back for him we need to draft a QB, RB and WR next year. Or sign a FA WR. Well Brownies fans get ready cause I think the tank is on here in Cleveland. Lets hope these guys know what they are doing. Stay tuned. Because where there is smoke there is fire. Or a fire sale.

  2. So let me ask you guy's. What do you guy's want for Gordon? Is it 1st and 3rd. Is it 2 1st? Is it 1st, 3rd and a player? I wouldn't trade him. But the Browns don't surprise me at all anymore. So basically what do you guy's want for Gordon?

Trading T Rich I get . good job . trading Gordon would be TANKING and just plain stupid IMHO ..That would send a bad message to the fan base and locker room IMHO .

this is all EGO Driven . these clowns want there guys in here and there guys only .goddamit I hate people with big phuquing egos ..just want to smack upside the head repeatedly ..unless Gordon is screwing up again and I have heard no reports of that . he gets it I think . if he does it again he is outta the league .

nothing is what I want . I want him to stay here . keep his chit together ands the player he can be . he is a beast .

  5. I hear ya Bluez. I don't want to trade him either. But I do think you are right about the Ego's in Berea. None of them are worse than the worthless Holmgren. I'm in a tough spot here with the Browns. Yes I want them to be a high caliber team. I want win's. But on the other hand we don't have the QB or offensive talent to do that now. I think the best way to build your team is by the draft. I like all those draft picks. I'm just worried the Brown's wont know what to do with them. Yes they hit on Mingo but the rest of the draft I think was terrible. I guess us Browns fans are left just sitting and hoping for the best. We are Browns fans we should be use to that. WOOF WOOF!!!!!!

The two trades were good as well. On a separate not I wouldnt take less than a 1st and another later pick. If they are talking about only taking a 2nd %)

First off, let me start by saying I love Gordon's talent. But at some point you have to look at value. Personally, I would want a first, but I don't think the risk will be worth a first to other teams.

What I personally believe they are factoring in is Gordon's maturity level and the ability to pass future drug tests, and I also believe it is a crap shoot whether he will stay on the straight and narrow. Next one loses a season...a 2nd round draft pick over a player that is one step away from that is actually pretty good value, unfortunately.

Look, he failed THREE tests in college and already failed one in the NFL. Who really truly deep in their gut believes he has seen the light and that was the one that opened his eyes to staying away from his posse in the offseason? Even if he manages to make it through this one, he could be gone in 2014 with a test in March or May, when he is hanging in South Beach.

For that reason, and that reason only...it wouldn't be the end of the world to me if he were traded for value.

That value in my eyes is a first rounder, but it won't be in another franchises eyes for the same reasons I just said, so a second is more likely what you are looking at.

The thing you need to look at is, we got lucky they hit on Mingo...and somehow managed to get rid of two worthless draft picks fairly early in the draft in rounds 4 and 5.

This was the worst draft in respect to talent in decades. Yes, someone may slip through the cracks in the 3rd and lower round and become a regular starter, but I don't think anyone would have even made this team..the Steelers "stolen safety" is still on this 0-4 team, but is third string on the SS depth chart...that is a win for the Browns.

Now I'm convinced you haven't watched a minute of the Steelers. Shamarko was the nickel CB when Cortez Allen was out and he played very well in that role. They went with a 3rd round rookie safety over the rest of the CBs on their roster. He also plays in their quarters package. Not sure how you could come up with "3rd string". He's the only other SS on the roster besides Polamalu.

    you're right, I haven't watched the Steelers...

But a handful of plays at nickel, doesn't necessarily make him a great draft pick. He has 8 tackles in 4 games, which tells me in the nickel spot he let a guy make 8 catches and then tackled him as I see no passes defense to his credit...

I went off the depth chart from a couple weeks ago..I see it now shows he has moved ahead of Cromartie-Smith to a back up role..Sorry for misinforming my Browns brethren, apparently the Steelers backfield is in worse shape than I thought.

No offense, but going over the other CBs on the team for packages isn't exactly an accomplishment, I do believe they are in as bad of shape as the Browns in that regard.

how about for players instead ? we have holes that could be patched by trading him . get a young guard / WR / RB / FS / CB you get the idea . we have plenty of picks why not trade him for players if they feel that he will screw up and I agree it is a crap shoot with him .

  13. beachbum M.V.P. Manager Steelers

Never said it was. Just wanted to set the record straight that he wasn't third team on any depth chart (and he never was).

That's a pretty reckless assumption - and completely untrue.

If any depth chart showed Cromartie Smith ahead of Thomas it was flawed. Thomas was ahead in preseason, he's ahead now. Cromartie Smith is a special teams player - nothing more. If you're referring to Ourlads they list him at SS because they have to list him somewhere. Golden would actually play SS in front of CS if it came to that.

It is absolutely an accomplishment for a rookie SS to get slot-CB duties. How many SS's in the NFL can slide into the slot and cover WRs in the NFL? I can't think of one off the top of my head. Pre-draft his coverage ability stood out (along with his run support) and it's been confirmed at the NFL level. That's an accomplishment.

Look, you are entitled to your opinion of Shamarko, although it appears to be made blindly and you can throw heaps of praise on the Browns decision to take a 2014 3rd over the talent available in this year's 4th. And you could be right. But if you're going to use an example you should probably stay away from Thomas because he's been pretty promising on the field - both in preseason and in the regular season.

    Here we go again. *SORRY*

I would love to get player "value" back for him, much more than draft picks, but what team looking to win a Super Bowl this year will give up talent, to replace talent? That is the dilemma we face.

  16. I don't think we can accurately say this trade is a "win" for either side for atleast three years.... We need to see how Thomas does as well as whoever the Browns select in this upcoming draft with the Steelers (early :D ) 3rd round pick in 2014, then compare both player in a couple years!

    Agree 100%.

Hey Mr. Moderator if you would like to lay out some rules on what we are allowed to agree or disagree on in here I'll try to abide by them. :-*

Did it ever occur to you that I was referring to another Browns front office trade involving a starter?
