I missed yesterday so I won't refute the stats but these losees this year have shown tbat Ben is not up to the level of guys his age. Rivers, Rodgers, Brees, and Brady take exceptional care of themselves. They avoid game changing turnovers. Yes, Ben has moments but he varies so much in his consistency. This team and Ben are capable of so much and yet at other times they put out so little. The Denver, first Browns game, as well as many plays in the Chargers game show so much about where their mindset is. Maybe we expect too much but that's the life when you root for a team that has had alot of success.
He’s better than Rivers and in the same sentence w Brady, Rodgers and Brees...probably 4th but in the conversation....he is BY FAR the best QB on the roster so until they find his replacement there shouldn’t be any conversation if Ben should be the Pitt QB
Ben makes some of the dumbest plays imaginable then turns around and makes spectacular plays. Shades of Favre. Ben is far from the problem in Pittsburgh. The kicker has cost them as many games as Ben has this season. Then the defense can not be counted on. During this three game losing streak they have given up drives of 73,75,79,79, and 64 yards late in the 4th quarter. Two of those drives were game winners. Since 2007 (Tomlin Era), Road favorites of 10+ points in the NFL are 60-11... Mike Tomlin has been the head coach for 4 of those 11 loses. Since 2007, Road teams favored by 9+ points are 52-10. Steelers are responsible for 5 of those 10 loses with a 6-5 record as a road team favored by 9+ under Tomlin.
i will say this - ben needs a head coach that will verbally kick his azz on national tv every time he pulls that big dumb crap i do not think it is dementia, it is something else and it long past time it is reeled in again
Realistically, they probably win at least the Cleveland opener (game turned on Conner's fumble that was punched in and cut game to one score. And we probably win the Denver game (another key fumble that puts us up a score late so in the end we're driving to win rather than tie. And against San Diego the game plan is probably a little more focused on the run and wearing down the Chargers. Especially in the 2nd half. So at least two games better. Probably Oakland too as we're able to run easier without them stuffing 8+ in the box constantly. But Bell isn't here primarily because of Bell, not because of Pitt. That being said, Ridley was NOT a solid backup plan once it was determined Bell wasn't reporting to camp and to start the season. Should have gotten someone else then or looked at final team cuts. The guy is done and has no burst. What he did in 2012 is irrelevant.
Tomlin just keeps doubling, tripling, quadrupling down on idiocy and incompetence: https://steelersdepot.com/2018/12/t...ect-changes-that-are-noticeable-to-naked-eye/ Hey Tomlin, F you! How about that? How's that grab you?????
That 6 game winning streak was an illusion against a bunch of losers. Only the Ravens have a winning record and are likely the only one of the 6 to end the season with a winning record. The Steelers are very lucky to not be on a 4 game loosing record as the beat the Jags by the skin of their teeth. Wonder who gets the blame after we rinse and repeat the same old standard again next season.
My $0.02... The Ravens beat the Bucs and Browns. The Ravens lose to the Chargers. 2-1 in the final 3 games. The Steelers beat the Bengals. The Steelers lose to the Patriots and Saints. 1-2 in the final 3 games. Projected Final Regular Season Standings: Ravens 9-7 Steelers 8-7-1
According to Steelers Wire (and others), the Steelers are planning on holding PK tryouts this week. https://steelerswire.usatoday.com/2...to-explore-other-options-at-kicker-this-week/ Good to know that after losing a "must win" game in Oakland, that Tomlin is now looking at kickers. (Sarcasm). Its like pulling a fire alarm after the fire department has arrived onsite.
I agree on your analysis should Le'Veon Bell have reported to the Steelers when expected - Labor Day 2018. However, if Le'Veon Bell reported later in the season, his primary focus would be "not getting hurt" - not winning games. So I could see lack of effort in the Denver, LAC, and Oakland games on his part and those still being losses. Just my opinion.
I don’t know if it’s good or bad but JuJu is becoming Ben’ Favorite WR. What other team can say that they have what some consider the best WR in the game as a number two.
Come on Brown is still the number 1 on this team. Yes JuJu is having a fantastic season a large part of that is because he playing across from Brown. Brown gets the lion share of the defensive coverage leaving JuJu in a lot 1 on 1 situations. Credit him for taking full advantage of those situations but Brown is still the undisputed number 1 on this team.
true but i wonder for how much longer he is getting older and that old sweep the leg johnny cobra kai injury has kinda slowed him down a hair longterm i think maybe or maybe it is just getting older
Brown isn’t an All-Pro WR this season. JuJu is. Brown will be a first ballot HOFer, but he didn’t earn that distinction this season.
