Yes, this time when we lost to an inferior team we only lost by 3 points instead of 20 like 2 weeks ago.

Ha. It's been a few years since the Ravens were "inferior" to the Steelers.

First of all, I am being facetious. Just trying to show how silly all this is.

Secondly, not sure what you mean by showing improvement? If I tell you that I have seen improvement in the Steelers in different areas, will that suffice? The defense has shown improvement week to week. Is that enough? I think the Steelers are a very young team that will continue to improve throughout the year. I have said it since the offseason...this team will be better in the second half than they are in the first as long as they stay relatively healthy.

    Fair enough Mano.

That why you finished in 3rd place last year, oh my bad, that means you are inferior.

  6. The NFL doesn't like teams that don't win, why, because they eventually make less money, they want parody and fan bases that have hope in their teams until late in the season. They do have the ability to keep teams, that are not good, in games. I'm not saying that they did this against the Steelers, however, I have watched other games, and when I watch with no bias, and feel that bad teams benefit from calls that seem to make the games more competitive. I do question the no call on Spence when he was held on the short touchdown run. Pretty sure if that was the Steelers, that gets called. Again, not the reason Pittsburgh lost, but it didn't help.

The NFL is a business. They are in this to make money. If the cover up of Spygate, Ray Rice beat down, and a multitude of other "less than desirable" activities is happening, how could anyone believe that the NFL doesn't instruct referee's to "pay close attention" to one team or another. It is in their interest to make games fun to watch, or people stop watching. If every year, you have 7 teams that don't win a single game, don't you think those markets would see a drastic reduction in viewers? How many people watched the Atlanta vs. Tampa Bay game after halftime? I didn't! On the other hand, the entire bar that I was in, tuned into the Steelers Tampa game - they all wanted the 0-3 team to beat Pittsburgh, it was exciting for those who were not fans of either team. It was great - I was literally laughed out of the building. Thanks Mike T and company, you make it fun to be a Steeler fan!!!!!

If tie-breakers and a 1-1 head to head make you feel better, then so be it. All I know, is that the start of the 2011 season, the Steelers have been watching the Ravens in the playoffs or they've been watching together. The Ravens haven't been watching the Steelers since the 2010 superbowl.

Actually that's not fully true. The Ravens were on a bye and probably watching Pittsburgh get Tebow'd

I have avoided this crap about the league being rigged so far, but I'm going to make one comment on this:

Simple...because like all those other things, the truth eventually comes out! A fired referee who was pissed off at the league could make a fortune with that story, couldn't he? At some point, if that was happening, it would come to light because in today's age of instant information its virtually impossible to keep secrets. Everything is recorded, documented and shared in real time. All it would take is one guy "in the know" to leak the info and it would be everywhere in a heartbeat. There is no hiding in today's society.

Thirdly, Mano wasn't comparing KC to the Steelers. He was comparing them to the Buccaneers. In this case the Pats compared to the Steelers. "Losing to an inferior team" and all that.

  10. ravens_R_#1 Legend Ravens

Yeah, I meant to compare KC to Tampa Bay actually, but clearly messed up the last sentence. Noticed it in Mano's reply and thought I was in the clear so I simply ended the discussion.

And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for that meddling LTS

Ok this is odd, ive read this entire thread and many others as i usually do because i enjoy good insight between the comedy, but i had to post here- i chose not to up until this point and in the past because i thought it was a bit of a ' dick move'.

but anyway, i do agree that the refs arent out to get anyone in this league, although a case could be made for saying that smaller teams, INCLUDING the ravens ( demo wise world wide fan base etc) do get shit on here and there, i.e. home game after the bowl- kind on the O's too i guess, or not correctly calling out the ravens draft pick in the first round with the proper title, there are others but its minor to be fair- when it comes to officiating i think its just fair to go occam's route and say that refs just suck, and do so consistently.

as for the notion that things cant be kept secret- HUGELY disagree. things are on the internet and more availble but the same mechanism that allows for mass liberty and globalisation also allows for mass control and manipulation and or misdirection. people are stupid enough to look the other way and be moulded to whatever a given individual with sufficient motive and resources would want- and yes...sufficient is a little ambiguous.

anywho, carry on. stop blaming refs.

    2k

2K, the refs are just calling Steelers games too 1 sided. The other teams are doing the same shit just not getting flagged as often. That bull shit has to stop.

2 were against the Jags(2-14 one season and 4-12 the other)
2 were against the Chiefs (both the same year and the chiefs went 2-14)
1 vs the Chargers (9-7) and
    1 vs the Texans (2-14).

  16. manosteel9423 Franchise Player Steelers

The bet is that the Steelers end up with a better record than the Patriots this season.

I'm thinking of a word...it starts with "p" and ends with "y" and is a synonym for "cat"! :p :D

I gotta pipe in on the NFL having it in for the Steelers thus all the penalties. I have seen a handful of borderline calls go against the Steelers and I've seen some glaring no calls against teams the Steelers are playing. It's upsetting but those are typically a couple calls a game. The Steelers are averaging ELEVEN penalties a game! I have complained in the past and still do sometimes but I can't right now.

I see a sloppy undisciplined team. There is a big difference in playing with emotion and being arrogantly out of control. The Steelers are self destructing. They lack leadership or this crap wouldn't be going on week in and week out.
