If you went to a Pee Wee league practice right now and watched the QB position get coached up I'm pretty sure you'd here, "Two hands on the football in the pocket at all times." But our 100M quarterback is too good for fundamentals?

Obviously there is a lot of blame to go around but you can't just give away TDs. It set the tone for the game and I haven't even seen it mentioned in here. Just find it hard to understand how that's on Haley and Tomlin. He's an 11 year vet.

Defense disappointed me in the 4th quarter but they certainly cleaned up the run defense. Seven points by the offense in the second half was the story of the game. They were in Bucs territory several times and came away empty handed.

    Hate that stupid pooch punt.

Antonio Brown said he wasn't aware that going to the ground during celebration was illegal. Really? He never heard of the Jared Allen rule? Where was he last season when Brett Kiesel got a penalty for doing this?

It's not just nostalgia. Cowher finished his career 108-1-1 when his Steelers led by at least 11 points.

When it did happen, that was some really stress-free football there.

Bull Shit, when Cowher was coach I was just as stressed out as I am now.

Cowher coached 261 games, you know. :-*

And how many games has Tomlin lost after having at least an 11 point lead? If I remember right, its only one or two.

Just because he had a record of 108-1-1 doesn't mean the games were stress free. There were plenty of times that Cowher teams went into a shell in the fourth quarter and just barely held on for dear life. It was scary as hell and I would yell just as loudly at the TV for them to THROW THE FRICKIN BALL!!! as I do now when it seems like Tomlin is taking the air out of it.

Thanks for posting the link Mano. But Wexell owes me money for stealing my lines, like firing all the coaches - though I did not fire Keith Butler - and he called out Tomlin for grabbing a face mask. The officiating was worse than I remembered. But what the hell, you can find great coaches anywhere. I hear Norv Turner wants another shot, and he can replace both Tomlin and Haley. :!

Mano, that was an awesome article. Thank you.

Haley's offence put up 300 plus yards, he can't go out there and catch for Brown. People need to start taking his call in perspective this game loss was not on Haley this time.

    This

the main problem is with some of the defensive schemes they are playing (what did BB call it 'Chinese fire drill)'. Either Lebeau has been found out and is not moving with the times or the personel he has can't run this schemes which again is on Lebeau to run something they can manage

Only time I ever said it was time for Cowher to go was the season after the Super Bowl win, when there were whispers and rumors his heart was no longer in coaching. Rumor proved true and he walked away at the end of an 8-8 season. Maybe my age and mind play tricks onme but under Cowher I felt liek we played with fire and a edge to our game. Even in season where they were bad they still seemed to have a swagger to them. This team the last three years just seems to collecting paychecks at times.

Here is another ugly for you recently fired Raider coach Dennis Allen has 8 wins 2 of them v the Steelers.

The Steelers had some emotional leaders at one time, which may be where that impression comes from. Bettis, Ward, Porter all quickly come to mind. That isn't coached. Joey Porter was asked when he came on as an assistant whether he would help instill fire in the OLBs, and he said it doesn't work that way - a player has it or he doesn't, it can't be given to him by someone on the sidelines. Don't confuse emotional outbursts with desire.

This year's draft concentrated on speed,, so maybe next year they draft a bunch of guys who are reported to be emotional leaders. Maybe even a couple who like to kiss the coach on the sidelines.

    41-14 Chiefs over the Patriots.

The mighty Patriots and Bill Belichick were just obliterated on national TV by a sub-500 (at the time) team and are now 2-2 which, as we know, is mediocre.

I could care less about KC and the Bucs, so no bet. Even though I expect KC to be an average team, maybe about 8-8 at the end of the season. Who knows with the Bucs, if they get good QB play they could win 8 games.

However, I will take you up on the Steelers and Pats. What are your terms?

Doesn't have to money, AJM...could be something else. How about an avatar bet? Those are always scary for me because I love my Walken Lombardi AV! How about, if I win, you have to wear an "I love Mike Tomlin" avatar of my design for the entire offseason.

If you win, I will wear whatever avatar you like for the offseason.

Mano, you're making a lot of even comparisons lately that aren't even.

They lost a bad one to Tennessee, then to the Peyton Manning led Broncos in Denver by one score without Charles (The Broncos would demolish the Steelers at Mile High, imo). Since then, they've won the last two games by a combined score of 75-29.

KC is showing improvement. Can you say the same of Pittsburgh?
