amen. Smarter Lennie talking about 2015 and babcock, dumb lennie (usually radio) misquoting smarter lennie. The disease will continue to spread.

I'm not sure I've seen a good speculative scenario that has Babcock leaving short of next year unless Holland does something to piss him off.

Well, rumor also has it that the Pens or Wings will buy-out Babcock......I just didn't mention that part of the rumor......

Lulz, Donald Sutherland from Kelly's Heroes, right? Did you know Sutherland is Canadian?

Edzso was the coach for the Penguins fro a bit when Crosby was a rookie. He came down from the Pens booth. He's a good broadcaster but he was a terrible coach and didn't last long. He seemed like he had no idea what he was doing. I think he likes to sit high? *HIGH*

Olczyk doesn't even drink, soft serve ice cream and ponies are about all he does.

He was a bad coach and also given a raw deal, kind of like another former Hawk turned coach by the name Trent Yawney. Olczyk still talks to the voices about coaching. He wants back behind a bench but I don't think he has many buyers lined up and he's not going to walk into the same type of bad situation when he went to Pit.

Jim Benning to Vancouver. I like this move for them, he seems to be very straight forward and competent. I was immediately thinking Barry Trotz also in Vancouver, Lennie beat me to it.

I had a jump start following GM candidates this year: it was either that or talk about the 2015 draft for Buffalo. I agree that the Canucks did very well by signing Benning. There's a lot of drama in Vancouver right now, but that is normal when a team under-performs expectations. I think he'll settle things down rather quickly and with a few slick moves he could have them contending again soon.

Benning has connections to Buffalo as director of amateur scouting there. The Sabres were one of the better drafting teams during his tenure.

i don't like the fact that Pierre is highlighted in gold in that graphic. it's like almost a sign from heaven (or hell if you're a Penz fan). dear GAWD! i'd rather see Traci Lords as the GM instead of that talking vibrator... and she probably knows NOTHING about hockey... which would put her right on par with Pierre.

The Penguins shouldn't let this drag on. They should be hiring somebody as soon as possible. I wonder if Lemieux and Burkle are interviewing them all?. Once they hire a GM, he can fire Bylsma! *HELP*

  11. igloofn68 Guest

You can't put it all on Bylsma though. Crosby, Neil, Kunitz, and Fleury wasn't good against the Rangers as he was in the 1st series. The other 3 didn't score any important goals either. But you should win the series when your up 3-1. And you can't fire all of the players. So, as usual, the coach has to go........

igloo, you speak as if all the right pieces were there, and maybe they were. if that is so, then the Pens fired the wrong guy. Danny should be unemployed, not Ray Shero. if the players quit playing, that's more of a reflection on the coach. the Pens up 3-1 to with 2 home games and can't seal the deal? that's not Ray's fault, that's purely on the coaching. i'm not saying that Shero should have kept his job, i just think Disco is a bigger problem than Ray was. the biggest problem regarding Shero, was that he left the Pens in a not-so-flexible state with the extensions on several players. its good to tie up talent, but it probably could have been done in a smarter way. some money was wasted. some prospects were dealt away unnecessarily. i still think Shero was a good GM overall, but i have ZERO faith in Bylsma.

    FR33 DAN BYLSMA!!!

I agree with you Halo. Bylsma doesn't make adjustments between periods or during the game. He just changes players on lines. I think Shero did a good job making trades for wingers and picking late in the draft for defensemen. I hope Rutherford doesn't screw everything up that Shero did. I don't trust Rutherford. He made too many bad decisions in Carolina. That being said, Crosby, Malkin (1 good game), Neal, Kunitz and Fleury were terrible. Fleury was mostly good in the 1st 4 games but terrible in losing a series when up 3-1........I don't think Fleury is an the elite category for goalies. He has his moments but he also has just as many bad moments.....Too me Fleury is like Barrasso. He is a product of the team in front of him mostly. He can win when his team scores goals and plays good defense in front of him. As far as stealing a game? Thats reaching for Fleury and very difficult for him to do.......

is that a scene from "Bare-Back Mounting"?

I don't think this thing could have started out any worse in June than it has for Pit. Who fucks up June, before the draft, this badly?
I thought the Rutherford hire is bad enough but the coaching hire mess is more disturbing since they have franchise talent on the roster locked up for a long time. Pit has so many pieces to move and contracts to write, this is crazy.
