I can't type. I'm laughing too hard at your last comment.

Did I inadvertently kill this thread?

I'll take a sammich and blowjob from Scarlett Johansson while we're fantasizing.

I have a problem with the "scapegoat" term. That implies he's the only problem, and he's far from it. Is he the QB of the future, No, and we need to draft a new one. I could see him being serviceable in the league, but he's not a franchise guy to build the future around. Maybe in a new environment he'll really succeed, but I doubt it's happening here. As pat suggests, keeping him for the 4th year while a new guy sits would not be a bad situation.

I've read though they could get a late first rounder for him, I pull that trigger.

Nah, I think most people just aren't posting as much, because there's not much to say about this team that hasn't already been said.

The Bears and their constant suckiness killed this board. :(

    Gentlemen, you are too kind.
I know that BWW would have agreed immediately that I dropped the thread in its tracks. I miss his weirdness.

I'm still a fan of the Bears which, in itself, is quite amazing and amusing. How many women do you know who settle for something that is not 1st, 2nd or 3rd best?

    My wife, apparently. Poor lady.

And I agree with the idea that Fields could be / would have been better elsewhere. You surround him with real weapons to stretch the field, an actual offensive line that he can rely on, and an offensive coordinator who plays to his strengths, and he's probably a major success. I was skeptical that Lamar Jackson would have any kind of success in this league, but he's still cranking. He's got a team that surrounded him with talent, and immediately adjusted to his skillset. The Bears have none of this, and have done nothing to this effect. Hence, Fields has failed here. But unless something changes, we're going to say the same about the next QB, more than likely.

    My girlfriend for one.
She asked for the best case and I named it. When it comes to the Bears until that happens the best case will never happen.

Of course you did, it wasn't the first and won't be the last.
