Just heard Dan Bylsma has been extended two more years with the Penguins. That should put to rest the rumors of him possibly being fired. I ate some crow on that one, I thought he just might have gotten the axe.

 

Carbomb has become slow, injury prone, likely to take a bad penalty or suspension, and unlikely to finish a play. Smith, Morin, or Hayes will probably crack the lineup at the wing before Carbomb right now. He's too small to be of much use against Boston anyway.

 

I only call him Buff mockingly. He's Byfuglien. He'll probably have a statue at Wrigley soon enough, then again, he wouldn't fit because he actually has a ring.

Streit for a 4th...a 4th! A 35+ UFA. I'm sensing paranoid thought creeping in on Holmgren after swinging and missing twice and losing a solid dman in the process last year.

I'm expecting a 17-20 million dollar 35+ contract with NMC for 5 years, frontloaded of course (so recapture concerns linger), to be signed by the weekend.
