Yeah, I can't handicap this series (implying I can elsewhere, haha). Even if one team dumps 2 straight, I won't think the series is over. Neither team really knows each other so certain adjustments can have a bigger impact than they should.

I don't think goaltending will be all that important compared to everything else, but I'm in the camp that trusts a system more than a goalie. That's why I like Chicago and Boston. Both teams keep the prime chances and rebound to a minimum so a goalie only has to steal a few saves.

    That's awesome

Do you live in a cemetary?

do they list him as "bigfat" on the board?

    tick tock.

I think Tippett stays in PHX. He's got a gravy train out there if the salary is right.

Matty, did you call Chicago radio today?

Here's my favorite quote after using his selective hearing that Chicago was a Cinderella story:

"You know what we do in Boston with the Cinderella Story (heavy boston accent)? We take the shoe and hit ya with it!"

Made my day, just curious if it was you.

  10. whoa, the blackhawks are a cinderella story? someone got a bad bowl of chowdah it sounds like.

I'm sure there is a contingent of Blackhawks fans that thinks they're a cinderella story. They haven't seen the standings or seedings though. I've never heard them but I'm sure the Boston fans in the area are hearing them with their special camo-foil listening devices. Many sites are giving the Bruins the edge, because of familiarity with the EC more than anything. I haven't seen much outside of Boston or Chicago that gives either team a significant edge.

Hawks are a little more skilled (mostly blueline) overall but the Bruins play a style more difficult for the Hawks and are playing some of their best hockey as a team in the eyes of many and have a hot goalie to boot. I wonder how Vegas or any sportsbook goes about handicapping this series. Bruins 7-0 when Horton is in the playoff series for them, that's not bad.
Q has never lost a playoff series after getting by Detroit (figure that out).

what a nightmare this is going to be. media frenzy. i have to say that its ridiculous on the national level how anything the Pats do is perceived as a great move initially. ball washing on a local level is somewhat expected everywhere but nationally its gross. drafting Tavon Wilson in the 12 draft in the 2nd round when he wasn't invited to the combine and most people had never heard of him?- 'brilliant, BB must know something everyone else doesn't.' taking on the Tebow circus- 'perfect fit for the Pats and BB'. get real, heard there is no guaranteed money and the Pats don't generally keep 3 QBs. coin flip if he's still there for week 1. anyways, back to the question- he should wear #1.

you're just lucky that you don't have to listen to almost everyone speak such gibberish. on top of that the Boston accent is clearly disgusting, especially on females. you guys should hear my mother, she's very well educated and 'proper' but her accent is so bad. she can compliment you and sounds like she's trying to pick a fight. 'Huspital' is my favorite word. and 'her house' = 'whore house'

Lemmie (TSN) poll over the SC champ has the Hawks at 50.1% and Bruins at 49.8%. Seems about right. This will be such a good series, thinking that every hockey fan is at least somewhat excited about this. I think its also fair to say that these are the 2 best teams in the league right now, even w/ the Bruins inconsistency all year.

10/1 says that guy loves Jack Edwards.

I'll try to find that phone call and post it. It was a real treat.

John Stevens allowed to interview elsewhere. I'm thinking Vancouver myself.

Does Marchand draw a dumb penalty first or commit one first?

Should be funny. Both teams dread (or should) playing with the man advantage.

  16. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

Marchand will get a penalty for unsuccessfully slew footing Kane. the intent will be so obvious they'll have to call it.

A little worried about the Bruins pk bob. Campbell lead the Fs in pk ice time. his presence will be missed. Good on Dzone pk draws as well. This will wear out Bergeron even more.

no NHL awards this year. we'll miss you Jay Mohr and Criss Angel, oh well. Bettman must be saving his pennies to get Smashmouth and Dane C(r)ook for next year.

    Holy Bieksa!!

Stalberg in a white jersey. I think that means Bollig gets in and that is freaking terrible. Plays right into Boston's hands since Bollig can't really do anything except crash into people and take Thornton off the ice for 5 minutes. Can't wait for him to run Lucic after he gets a pass off to that hot centerman all alone between the circles. This will be the 3rd scratch this postseason.

    Lol.

You would be less concerned about the pk if you watched the Hawks pp a little more closely. I'll be shocked if they maintain pressure. It's running the worst it's been in 3 years...and that's really tough to do since it's been really bad for so long. The only thing that has kept it's stats up has been unbelievable plays by Kane (at rare times) on the man advantage early in the year. Many of the Hawks pp goals have come after giving up a prime scoring chance the other way too. Did I mention the Hawks gave up a shorty to let LA back in game 5 when they were rolling along up 2. Kompon (LA disaster on the pp) decided to go with Lulz' favorite 4-forward pp unit. Many games this year they've averaged more sog on even strength than on the pp. I yell "decline" everytime they go up a man. Detroit's game 5 against Chicago gave the pp a gasp of air. The extended 5 on 3 for Chicago in game 4 was something spayschell too.

The entry decisions will be terrible and Chicago will be slow to adjust, because they're really stupid up a man. Then they'll go to dumping it in trying to avoid Chara's side and Rask's stick and that will fail 5 times in a row. Then Kane will skate it in up the middle into 4 Bruins, lose the puck and the penalty will expire. The Bs will have momentum, the meatballs will applaud Boston's pk efforts, and then Julien will enjoy 2 advantageous line matchups immediately following the pk. I have a real sunny outlook on the pp.

  20. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Oooohhhhhh, I forgot the best part, Bollig gets a shift in one of the next 2 after the Hawks fail on the pp...another treat.
