Yes, Saad is looking like a big boy top 6 winger. His nickname is "manchild". He's one of the first Hawks in a long time that has numbers that we think are below how he's played. How did the Hawks get him one may ask?

Burke wanted Kessel and traded to get his 2010 2nd back. Hawks got Toronto's 2011 2nd and 3rd.

Kruger was a post-Scotty pick and Shaw was a 5th rounder in 2011 even though he was eligible for the previous 2 drafts.

The pool is moving along, Tallon's drafts sucked for 4 years straight. Stan's team did a good job gutting and rebuilding the system. Unfortunately for Cutter, the pool has been significantly de-gooned with Paradis and Flick shipped out. Matty should have a Flick fathead in short order. Danault is the only one I'm pretty certain will be on an NHL roster for a long time in some capacity. Lots of love for Teravainen, but I look at him like most of the Detroit prospects, very high ceiling and very, very low floor. If his vision and hands don't translate up a level, I don't think there's going to be much there for the next half decade or more. I'll go through the rest of the prospects later. I don't see many cracking the top 6 or 4 anytime soon (Sshhhhh, don't tell many of my fellow Hawks fans) but they have enough quality and quantity to round out the bottom dpair and bottom 2 lines for quite a few years going forward. That's good enough. Spending much on the skaters logging less than 13 minutes a game is a recipe for losing.

Terri doesn't do much for me. Like she's going to say "this is the most dangerous predator in the hemisphere, let's go mess with this creature's babies and see what happens"

I guess I can see the "rush" in chasing tornadoes, but that doesn't mean they should be revered.

possibly an ignorant question... what do you do with the tornado once you catch it? or is it just chasing the damned thing that's so much fun? whatever the case, it sounds like a redneck party game to me.

Saad is from Pittsburgh. Not far from where I live. As is Umberger. Theres a few other Burgher's in the NHL and minors also. They say Pittsburgh is becoming a hotbed for hockey players in the east. Just a little tidbit I thought I'd throw out there for people who don't know where some of these players are coming from.

    Pierre needs to chase tornadoes!

  8. If the three guys who got killed chasing that tornado were Pierre, Bettman and JR I think a lot of people would be happy.

    Lennie and squiggy? lol

You know how it is, nowadays, two all day tv sports channels, two all day sports talk stations, this is the media, creating work.

I haven't heard alot of talk of the draft yet to be honest, right now its all about the playoffs and the jays.

6-1, is this happening in the pens barn? Makes me cringe to think how the leafs had them beat and blew it, now I'm sure they probably would've beat the rangers, and gave the pens a good fight, they could've went all the way to the finals against, the hawks?

why does it surprise me that blysma will get the blame when Shapiro bought iginla and morrow and no def other than 1 step murray

I have to give more credit to the Pens than the Bruins so far. Sorry Bruin fans, this was more an implosion by Pit than great play by Boston. I think Pit has only had 1 good period of 6. Credit Boston for not getting stupid.

I don't want jr to go tornado chasing, he deserves a front office job with the blackhawks

i think Captain Crosby should put the Darth Vader helmet back on... he has lost the F0RCE all of a sudden. well at least the Penguins aren't a team of soft and wet p00ntangs... they out hit Boston 37-19 (Bylsma's plan is definitely working). here's my thing: 6-1 is an embarrassing loss, no matter if it was an implosion or it was a f**king triple lunar eclipse on Uranus. Boston blocked 16 shots, Pittsburgh blocked 9... FACT: whichever team blocks more shots typically wins the game. hits are pretty much useless, obviously, and especially in this case. TV PERSPECTIVE: the Broonz just clogged up the middle from the middle of the 2nd period on. Hey Disco Dan... try that tactic next time, you effin' wanker! if this wasn't a high-octane offense and a team that plays well on the road AND has a 6-0 record in their last 6 visits to TORONTO Dominion Garden, i would be really down about this game. plus, it probably helps that i'm high as a kite.
