i'm coming to bat for my Pro-Fighting brothers. fighting does NOT detract from the game in anyway and YES, it should be used as a tactical move. if your team is getting pummeled, or your star/captain is getting abused, send your meat-sack onto the ice to try and put an end to it. will it change the outcome of the game? maybe not, but it will save some face.

Skinny is right, the league needs to make sure the REFS are up to standard. they miss calls and no-calls and seem confused about the rules themselves at times. this can disrupt or delay a game even more so than a fight (which usually last about a minute or less). an officiating think-tank on the ice can last 3, 4 or even 12 minutes. leave FIGHTING alone. the players like it, the fans (most of them) LOVE it, so as the student-athlete Jefferson told Mike Damone in reference to his car (in Fast Times at Ridgemont High), "Don't F**K with it." removing FIGHTING in hockey will be even more unpopular than the shootout. hockey's forefathers will spin in their graves, and if we're lucky, they'll crawl out and eat Donald Fehr, Gary Bettman and anyone else who supports this silly pansy-assed notion.

  3. thats another point you guys made. they put an extra ref out there to not miss calls and I think its worse than when there was only one out there. not to mention if you get a toolbag/attention vacuum like Fraser he wants to be the one making all the calls to their type of liking often getting away from what their focus should be. having 4 linesman and refs out there also doesnt allow the fights to happen. theres nothing worse than having two guys that want to go and the refs tie em up, all that does is infuriates the players and often makes those players act out aggresively in other ways

good post by the way Halo

Finally after 5 months of being engaged, and 215 attempts, Alexander Ovechkin manages to score on his fianc?'s 5 hole.
Said fianc? Maria Kirilenko, "I let him score, I was tired of him missing at 100 kph all the time, ... I have bruises all over my ass."

    Amen!

Seriously, I think that is going to be one helluva series between the Bruins and the Penguins. Will be interesting to watch it unfold...good offense versus good defense.

  16. well shouldve known it wouldnt be this easy. congrats Hawk fan on a must win. Toews finally gets on the scoresheet. lotta penalties last night. Wings cant let it go back to Chicago for game 7, have to close it out in 6. I think that having the last line change was huge for Magnum. he wont have that luxury next game

It seems the responsible Hawks fans are very aware of this and how Babcock will use the last change to frustrate Chicago on Monday. Home ice, Away ice, 2 playoff games in a row is still a very tall order anyway.

I didn't forget about this, I'll save it for the summer.

    Hitting banned in Pee-wee.
