I've been a big Joe Thornton defender for 4 years. I think he's been an excellent playoff performer even with the injuries. They guy wants to win and has been doing a bit of everything. Really sick of hearing that he's soft or a choker.

This year he's been on the ice for 17 goals, only one of them against SJ in this year's playoffs. Until he lifts the cup, I'm afraid he'll never shake the labels.

 

probably true. just looked up his playoff stats and didn't realize that he'd had a nice run in the 10/11 postseason, 17pts in 18gms.
I think it will have to be Couture that drives this bus if they're gonna make serious noise.

i slept like a baby last nite. thank G4WD the Pens brought the heat and made a statement. Anderson was looking behind so much its a wonder his head didn't snap off. now they just need to slam the door and move on. here's a recurring observation... Malkin is a complete retard on defense. he seems to... he has a problem with... aw, hell, HE JUST PLAIN OL' SUCKS!!!

....and eff joe thornton. Hes a hack that tries to aythe tough guy role unless there is a deterrent. Which on the wings there hasnt been one since kocur and he may actually whine more than crosby. Big difference is crosby is an awesome player and thornton never was although he thinks he should be treated like one

Wings hit their shots, Chicago misses and hits iron. Gotta execute, not good enough. Q has pretty much trashed any of the chemistry the forwards had that got them to this series. We don't even know what the 3rd line is.

I will give the wings credit for a very solid game, they recovered from all the bad turnovers and Howard has been excellent and Detroit has been covering Chicago skaters away from the puck extremely well. I can't give Detroit any credit for the PK, Chicago's pp has been a disaster. 3 days off and that's what they come out with? Unbelievable. Kings fans warned us about Kompon (Hawks asst that has the pk, Q hire), didn't think he would end up being as bad as it is this year. Only Kane's great play kept the PP from being in the bottom group during the reg season.

3 games in a row is possible but I would consider it unlikely. I think Chicago is going to have to rely on Detroit mistakes to pull off a series at this point. Confidence is gone, Q has trashed the chemistry, Howard is hot, and the wings are playing sound away from the puck, Chicago is in big trouble even if they play well. We haven't seen Chicago's best hockey and I don't think we're going to. The Hawks are going to have to rely on forcing mistakes. Credit to the Wings.

Quenneville now 0 for JLA in his career. I think he and Toews are hearing the voices.

 

whats the infatuation with Roszival, that guy sucks. it was the same thing w Torts in NY, he gets so much unwarranted ice time. I dont get it
