The Ditch part deux

  1. More hockey talk here would be nice. My Florida Panthers finally getting something right would be better.

Your Panthers are looking good Dline.....they are in the playoff's as of now with 20+ games to go.

    Good luck down the stretch.

And FYI......did you know this is the FIRST year the Vancouver Canucks do NOT have a Roberto Luongo Cap Hit since they acquired him from Florida Panthers........it was a 12 year deal which was ridiculous by the Canucks....Canucks Management Sucks.

  2. This is going to be an interesting week in the NHL.....Trade Deadline week.

I'm thinking the Canucks will trade Luke Scheen to Toronto.

Dline your Panthers may rent a player for the playoff's ?....any thoughts there.

SAS I took the Liberty and have officially announced you as a Columbus Blue Jacket Fan....sorry but I feel it is a good choice as they are in the running for Conner Bedard.

And this years draft......2023 is going to be one of the Best and Top 10 Grads for the NHL are immediate help for teams.

NO Football and Hockey is getting interesting so Line-em up People.

It feels like the top 6 teams in the Eastern Conference are set but it's gonna be a blood bath for the wildcards. Penguins & Sabres are in the best position but anybody but the Blue Jackets, Canadiens or Flyers are in the thick of it. Senators & Islanders especially on the rise.

The Panthers shouldn't be buying anyone at the deadline. Their cap situation gets much better next year, and they already sacrificed some serious future assets in the deadline trades last year for Giroux, etc. I can understand why they went all in last year, even though I didn't think they had the goods. They needed to try, and to get a South Florida fan base excited that is used to seeing their teams fold when it matters.

But this year is definitely a step back for them, and I think that was evident based on their moves to start the season. The playoffs is something they'll obviously continue to work for, but they need to plan on their improvement coming in the off-season. Rentals would be a big no no.

Dline how do you feel about GM Bill Zito ???.....he was in Assistant role with the Blue Jackets before coming to the Panthers.

The East is tough and the Panther's are hanging in there.....only 3 Teams below 500 in the East and 6 below in the West.

Sorry about your Leafs last night Joe........Damn McDavid is starting to look like Gretzky......(52 Goals in 62 Games) and he skates like the Wind.........But not to worry Joe the Leafs play the Canucks on Sat. Hockey Night in Canada.....guaranteed win for TO

Canucks Suck and I think your going to like Luke Scheen in the playoff's.....he is a big boy on the Blue Line.

Sure glad you guys are posting here......this is a Football Site and not a lot of Hockey Fans.

But the NHL is getting ready for playoff's next month (Apr) so it will heat up.

Good Luck to Dline and Joe for Post Season.....I've given on the Canucks.

Zito turned around a ship that Dale Tallon had sunk to the depths in the span of about a season and a half. He completely remade the roster in such a short span, and did it by giving up very little and getting the most out of guys that other teams couldn't. It was amazing.

Then he splurged and went all in last year at the deadline, likely at the urging of ownership. Now the Panthers are without a lot of valuable future assets, and have to navigate their cap in addition to the decade-plus long drought of defensemen on their roster. If Zito can use the fresh cap room this off-season and find a way to improve the defense, this team can compete. We will see.

  7. Dale Tallon.............Vancouver Canucks FIRST Ever draft pick.......now the guy looks like a Beached Whale....lol

Good Luck for your Panthers and 2023 Draft is a Good one.....lots of good players....Cameron Allen is going to be a good D-Man.

    This is surely ditch worthy.

The Penguins lose to the last place team to possibly put the dagger into their playoff hopes. It's really bad considering the Blackhawks move from last to third last with this win with Connor Bedard on the line.

  9. Thanks Joe for keeping this Thread alive.

Good Luck for Leafs in the Postseason.......I'm predicting that D-Lines Florida Panthers will Upset the Mighty Bruins.

Been that my Canucks were LONG gone from playoff's I'm cheering for Seattle Kraken.....watch out they may turn some heads.

I'm thinking Connor Bedard goes to Columbus Blue Jackets after the Lottery.....they will be a Much improved team with David Jiricek on the Blue Line.

Take Care and good luck for the Leafs.....interesting Joe who gets that 8th spot ?

Bruins might just get the sweep in round one. I wish the Panthers had it this year, but there's just never been a sign that this is their year. Cap space frees up next year, we'll see what they can do. Calling all defenders - Florida is in need!

Yes dline they are in need of Defense.......but I think they may still have a chance to take down the Mighty Bruins.

Game 2 Florida should put BOB in net...Good Luck for your Panthers.

Rangers and Devils tonight will be a Barn Burner.....I'm predicting 1-0 NJ

Leafs and Lighting......the Leafs should be able to win this in 7.

  13. Kudos DLine for your Panthers.....Game 3 tonight in Florida.....good luck.

I'm surprised the Rangers are up 2-0 and going back to Madison Square.....Devils have to win game 3.

How about Seattle.......talk about a Team effort.

Complete travesty. You'd think the War Room in Toronto could have seen that... do you know, Joe if it was reviewed in Toronto?

I was under the impression all OT goals, especially controversial ones were reviewed, but im not positive.

The War Room is called the "Situation Room" and it's right next door to Scotiabank Arena.....home of the Leafs.

I was under the impression all OT goals, especially controversial ones were reviewed, but im not positive.

ALL Goals are reviewed in the Situation Room.....the On-Ice official make the decision on whether to go too Video Review.
When the Official Points to Center Ice it is a Goal.

  18. Good Luck tonight Joe....Game # 3 is always a Huge game to win regardless what building your in.

And I get to Surf tonight with the Devils and Rangers.....a MUST win for NJ.

I knew that, I called it the war-room, because I can. I have no further comments to your post.

Eh. I'm not seeing it. Physics dictates that it changes axis, not the stick. Try flipping anything in your house 360+ degrees over just one axis. It doesn't happen.

There wasn't any abrupt change of direction at all. I genuinely don't see how it would've touched the stick.
