I know that WAS v NYR got all the attention, and that Tom Wilson's lack of discipline was par for the course for the league, but did anyone else see the drama that is going down between playoff opponents FLA and TB? The media doesn't blow that up, even though both of those teams are in the playoffs, and set to play each other...

Maroon (TB) came out talking about how they were going to intimidate FLA, rough 'em up, and make things difficult for them in the last two games before playoffs starts. FLA not only handed them a 5-1 loss, but there were 164 penalty minutes handed out over the course of the night. TB was just committing cheap shot after cheap shot all night long - it was really egregious. And FLA made sure to throw hands plenty to fight back. Maroon is suspended for the last game of the season, and Goodrow is out indefinitely with an injury. We'll see if all the Panthers players made it out unscathed - there were some nasty hits delivered.

This playoff series is going to be can't-miss TV.

Canada is in the World Championships gold medal game. This was NOT expected. Canada brought a pretty weak team and almost didn't make it out of the group stage. They finished tied for 4th with a tiebreaker over Kazakhstan and needed Germany and Latvia not to go to OT to be 4th or else they fall to 5th or even 6th. Germany and Latvia could have fixed the match to both advance if they really wanted to. Canada lost to Latvia, and all other semifinalists (USA, Finland, Germany) in the group stage. They beat Russia, the top of Group B 2-1 in the quarters and then got revenge on the USA in the semis 4-2. They play the winner of Finland vs Germany going on right now. Germany has won Silver twice (1930, 1953) but never won Gold.

Winnipeg has to win tonight Will........Montreal is playing very well and Price is worth every penny in Net.

Kudos for the USA they just won Bronze and walloped Germany 6-1 for their Medal.......watch out for Connor Garland (US) good young player for the Zona Coyotes.

Honestly no, although for the last forever, teams that went the distance in the last series have won every series vs teams that swept their last opponent. Goes to show that being in game-mode is much more important than being over-rested.
