Too bad Will......Red Wings are battling the Sens for that Draft Pick.

Panthers are playing well and a big surprise this year.....I guess it is Coaching.

SPECTACULAR @ Lake Tahoe......but now Avs and Vegas are going tonight.....a bit of a Disaster for the NHL

 

Eh. There is definitely talent there, there's just not as much anti-talent as there was last year (Matheson). The 3 wins over Tampa and Carolina show this team can run with the bigs, but the blowout loss to Tampa and last night's loss to Detroit show that they're still very flawed. I think they've got a shot to make playoff noise this year, but I'm not sure there's a Cup window opening up any time soon. We will see.

One of the keys is that they're playing tough this year. The additions of Hornqvist, Gudas, and a condemnation of the lazy play guys like Yandle bring have been big. I've watched Huberdeau and Barkov's entire careers, and can't remember the last time either guy got their hands up. A couple nights ago, Huby threw the gloves off and wanted to fight. Last night, Barky was pushing back and seemed ready to go. That's a new attitude, for this franchise.

Congrats on the win last night, as well. Detroit isn't as bad as their record shows - their special teams is horrendous, but their 5-on-5 numbers aren't nearly as bad. Especially with Stevie in charge, I have a feeling they'll be back soon...

 

Panarin may return to or play for Russia again because if he does he's gonna be kidnapped and imprisoned.
