Too bad the leafs don't ever try to put Marner and Matthews together for an extended period.

 

funny the three teams mentioned- Edm, Dall and Tor.

Edmonton puts their 2 studs together and they dominate. the team's overall record with both players in the lineup has been horrible throughout their careers though, so far this year its been different but buying in to the Oilers so early is risky.
Dallas puts Benn/Seguin together and they used to be great. I think its a stretch to call Benn a stud nowadays. Dallas has been consistently good for the past few seasons.
Toronto splits Matthews and Marner and theyve been consistently good since coming in to the league. I wonder how their games would mesh.

All situations different from one another but who knows how it would work out overall for these teams if they went the opposite route.

 

Were there any riots or anything after the '94 Cup?


Yes............June 14th 1994...........we lost game 7 to New York Rangers in New York.

The Riot started @ Davey St and Thurlow Ave..........and lasted ALL night and made it's way to Granville Ave early in the morning.

It was Brutal with a LOT of Damage .........Broken Glass and Cars set on Fire..........But 2011 was Worse.

A LOT of the people that were arrested...........they were not even Hockey Fans and were not even from Vancouver.....

..............really sad the damaged they did to Downtown Vancouver.

Marchand was good last night. Bruins bad streak over, Leafs having one of their own (0-3-1).

 

15 games 30 teams in action today... I like it.

 

kind of surprising Guy Carbonneau got into the HOF. He only has 600+ points. Never heard of Vaclav Nedomansky. He has a low point total also.

 

Im glad he made it. Solid player on a solid team. Grew up watching him play his career, great player.

 

I think he was the first player to defect, I'm going to try to make it there tonight. Last year I saw Hasek, Tretiak, Walter Gretzky, O'Neil.

 

i thought federov was the first player to defect? i thought he broke open the floodgates to other russians going to the NHL like the documentary i saw 2 weeks ago stated?

 

Mogilny defected a year before Federov, Nedomansky was from Czechoslovakia.

 

oh maybe it was a defection by Detroit players? I forgot about Mogilny.

to me you play to the whistle and the whistle never blew. allowing a goal does suck with a hurt player on the ice. to me most plays like this aren't blown dead and need a stoppage. it looked like the Avs stopped playing after the injury. the Canucks didn't.
