The Ditch part deux

Oilers chase the hometown kid Carter Hart. Flyers can't get into the new system yet. I still think the Prague game and then travel to the Canada has left them tired. Top guys have few goals. New players seem out of whack. Current players look lost. Fans are calling for Ghost's head on a platter. Not happy with new addition Justin Braun.

Me...it's only week 1 and a new coach and new system take time to learn. i can only hope they learn it SOON!

 

West Coast trips are brutal so far and usually. Wings went out west and lost, Canes are getting handled and the Flyers got dumped. Its not really uncommon for this to happen, in my opinion. I also think Vancouver, Edmonton and Anaheim are better clubs already than they were a season ago. Its early, but the West is playing well outside of Arizona, Chicago and the likes of Dallas... the Canadian teams are clearly better except it seams as the the Jets have gotten off on the wrong foot/skate.

Flyers are good and they will be a playoff team this season, but only if Hart stays hot and healthy... he's to the Fly like Lundqvist is to the Rags.

 

Yeah well a game in Europe and then 2 home games and a far west canadian road trip seemed to make them very tired and out of sync. that or they just suck?

all kidding aside, i still think they're learning the new system and it takes times to learn and adjust and the lack of learning the system is showing on the ice so far.

 

Great schedule of games tonight too. Action will start at 7 and go till tomorrow with really good match-ups. This old man might have to take a nap and check this out tonight as a bunch of good late games are on.

 

No way do they suck... they are decent in my opinion and im not saying that to flatter your fins. Its their schedule that has been brutal... they will be ok and the Metro is a Division they can do some damage in. Its good in my opinion to get the ;'bad' part of the schedule over with early on, then things fall more in your favor.

Certainly off to a great start and fortunately Klefbom is on one of my fantasy teams.

6-1-0 start, 29 goals, stingy defensively and getting goaltending... ya, their good.

 

Looks like McD is off to a career year, Neal brings more stability. I still don't trust the goaltending or scoring depth.

I think the Oilers will fall back eventually and Dallas is too good to not pick it up. Edmonton has had a soft schedule to start. we'll see though, McJesus and Draisaitl are too good to continually miss the real season.
