The Chicago Black Hawks have lost six straight games and are dead last in the entire league (31st).

Flyers get smoked in Winnipeg last night. Wow. After spanking Buffalo, they laid a big fat bomb last night. PU.

Big Flyers rumors-the Bob will be #1 on new GM's wish list come July 1, 2019 in FA.

This is puzzling for many reasons, #1 being what or where does that put Carter Hart now? The phenom was going to be called up in 2019? If Bob comes back to Philly forget that plan. Does Hart get traded? # 2 money. Bob wants a ton of coin and already said "Carey Price money." The Flyers have other holes to fill, so is spending good FA money over paying bare minimum for Hart, a smart move? Tough call there. I'm all for having a #1 goalie, but if they do sign Bob long-term and Carter is traded, isn't this the same thing that practically happened to Bob? I would hate to see Carter Hart do well elsewhere when he should be the #1 goalie in South Philly.

Every team wants to give a goalie a long development. I think there's about 0% chance Hart will be named the starter. Having a strong starter, like Bob, makes sense, therefore, to allow the backup to get good tutelage.

Thanks Dan.......I never knew what "Tutelage " meant......(Guardianship or protection.)

I always like when I learn something on these boards.

Dan - for how long? Hart played 2 years in the WHL, 1 in the AHL. How much longer do you expect him to sit down there in AHL Hell? And the Flyers have another stud goalie prospect breathing down Hart's neck in Felix Sandstrom. How much longer do you think Hart can last down there before he wants to play in the NHL or before Sandstrom wants to play in the NHL?

Unless Bob wants a 2 year deal, I don't think 3+ years will sit well with either goalie prospect. And 0% is based on what? People are calling for Hart to play in the NHL RIGHT NOW, let alone in 2019! To not play in either season with all of their goalie woes would be a shocking move by the Flyers unless they land a short-term goalie. If that happens, Hart and Sandstrom won't be happy, which is the same thing Bob went through and he wanted out of town, which he got, and has haunted the Flyers ever since. This is deeper than getting Hart good tutelage. Many ramifications here if Bob signs long-term.

it also means gains "instruction from others" which is what Dan meant VV from getting Bob and his tutelage to Hart.

You think Hart is the real deal? I never liked him when he played for the juniors, I thought it was their weakest showing for goalies.

Cat, I was saying that I think that they'd be much more inclinded to bring Hart up to Philly as a backup; I did not say they'd keep him in the AHL if they signed Bob. They still need a starter and a good one is going to require more than a one-year deal. If they brought Bob back then he'd be the starter getting about 70-80% of the starts (obviously assuming everything goes well). They'd then look to Hart to get about 20 starts - work him in slow. If they really feel that he needs more starts then they'd keep him in Lehigh Valley for another year.

Hart will be, IMO, a quality starter in the NHL if he gets proper development. (And there's nothing to suggest he won't.) But if he wants to get pissy about being in the AHL - which I don't think he would - then that's why we have this expression in the English language: "go fuck yourself". They all want to play in the NHL now. BFD! Let them make it impossible for the team to not bring them up - and he has not done that yet.

well rumors are he is pissy Dan. He wasn't happy about being sent down to the AHL from training camp. so now he is pissed and they may trade for Bob and possibly play Hart 20-30% of the games and let Bob be the starter? I don't see that marriage ending well. And don't forget about Felix Sandstrom too. He will be ready in a year or so too. Where does he fit into this puzzle ?
