As a kid, my favorite player was a Pirate. I really loved baseball and knew every stat. Watching the players and managers smoking in the dugout was awesome. Sad day when Roberto Clemente died. Cookie cutter game today.

When I was a kid I used to sleep with the radio, I would turn the dial slowly and pick up games from (cleveland, detroit, boston and new york). I used to watch mel allen "this week in baseball" religiously.

I would listen to hockey on tues and thurs (la kings and Marcel Dionne and Rogie Vachon), they didn't have much else. Then on fri it was boxing night. This was before girls.

The crown line, still remember the mustards and blue jerseys. I'll never forget those peliminary round playoffs between the leafs and kings in the late 70s (best 2 of 3).

In the late 70s I had a little b&w tv in my room. ABC used to show a weeknight Game of the Week. I remember watching Pirates games and getting excited when a big time pitcher (Nolan Ryan, Steve Carlton) was throwing that night.

I grew up in an Irish/Catholic family where the actual religion was Red Sox/hockey. Would go to games all the time, even in the mid 90s in HS Id get bleacher seats at Fenway for $8. Now forget it, its like the Fenway Group is running a train on you every time you step inside. Surprised you dont have to pay to take a piss. The atmosphere was better when the team hadnt won in a million years, now its a pink hat sham and a GD shame.

haha - funny how the Penguins want justice against Wilson. When their player chopped Couterier at the knees and sent him to the ice and then scored immediately afterwards, it was like nothing had happened.

great story matty. what a time to be at fenway! $8 a seat can't be beat ! I went 1 time during Hurricane Sandy and had seats next to the Pesky Pole and they were like $80. That was my only time at Fenway. The Phils are still very affordable compared to the other 3 corporate teams in Philly. The Sixers weren't from nothing to their tickets can't be found to buy. One season it went that fast. Eagles and Flyers are super expensive and all corporate.

I finally convinced my brothers to go see a movie. Cheapo only wants to go on discount Tuesday but we might go with his buddies to see the Avengers then. I convinced him to see Super Troopers so I'm heading out meow to see it. I've been waiting years for it. I haven't read a review or anything.

Wow. They called no goal? I'm trying to see how the angle can affect it but unless the camera is OUTSIDE the net it has to be a goal. No parallax here. Did they give any extra reasoning?

Wish I could get a clip for you, but the puck pinballed a few times and was shoved around by a lot of gloves. It was called no goal , but the situation room in Toronto overturned that. Capitals then challenge on the terms of goalie interference and that was denied... it was another strange set of circumstances, but in the end, the video review in Toronto made the right call.
