The question is how many of those are own goals?

Get a McQuaid one. He needs to be pricked in front of his own goal for those own goals.

Question to the panel -- a Boston native, but Philly TV personality and former sports writer for ESPN and the Philadelphia Inquirer, - Al Morganti, said "the Vegas Golden Knights season is a great story". "A great story?" A expansion team getting 109 + points in their first season over experienced proven teams? A expansion team getting a far better pool of unprotected players to choose from than past expansion teams? An expansion team destroying all previous records for a first year franchise and winning their division? I'm sure it's great for their owner and fans, but is it for the rest of the NHL?

If I was the GM of a team in the Western Conference and behind VGK in the standings, do I say "it's a great story" they beat us this year? I don't know how I feel about that.

    Your thoughts guys?

you sound like me. I was trying to find Tonya Harding's number to pay the Penguins a little visit before the game last night. Sadly, her ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, is now Jeff Stone, and living in Oregon somewhere under a rock. And after the Pens performance last night, I knee 25 kneecaps to slow them down !

Honestly, outside a couple players, the Knights didn't come close to picking the best available players in the pool. They got some concession though because the League wanted them to not be in a long build to get relevant like other expansion teams were and they did pay a nice premium for a team.

good stuff LAOJoe-will those same concession be there for the next team in Seattle or Quebec ? I can't imagine that sits well if the next team doesn't get those concessions, but I'm not an owner or player, so it doesn't matter. I just don't see everyone being so peachy keen about the Knights and saying "it's a great story." And ironically, the GK doing so well and not finishing last or near the bottom, excludes them from the lottery draft and the rights to Rasmus Dahlin, who is expected to go #1 overall.

The next team which is certainly Seattle will pay more and likely get the exact same concessions, with Vegas perhaps getting an exception of some sort.

fair enough LAOJoe. Great stuff as always. BTW-I'm sure you saw what Rueban Foster did of the Niners? Aren't you happy the Eagles didn't draft him ? 11 yrs in prison is nothing to laugh at if he gets convicted. Wow.

yeah I agree skinny. 109 pts and a division title. no one saw that coming.

  13. Last night was a good one, but tomorrow's a new day.

The highlight for me was Ryan Shazier firing up the crowd with the "Let's Go Pens" chant.

Yeah, I remember after they won their first eight games lol. In truth, it's just the perfect strom, perfect chemistry, good coaching, players overachieving.

Devils score, 3-2 with 9:45 to go. That would be something if NJ pulled that one out.

5-1, Broonz. I love the crowd in Boston tonight, they are fired up.
