The kid was their goalie and that game was set to be the city finals to qualify for the Provincial playoffs. He was set to enter the OHL draft.

 

and his team had to play without him. how the hell do you compose yourself just days after the murders? just awful.

 

That game was an exhibition match. They made the finals a memorial game and now the team has to decide what to do. I don't know the league rules but in some junior leagues you can "rent" a goalie when yours are unavailable.

 

where's their backup ? they must have a #2, right?

Your misinterpreting what I stated... kinda looking at it in reverse. IF Backes hit Gudas, there's no call, but since it was a Panthers star player, they threw the book at him.

 

gotcha Will. to me there shouldn't be a difference on the call based on who it is. A dirty hit is a dirty hit. The NHL enforcement committee needs to be consistent.

Man, I'd really rather not see Ekblad fight. But it pissed him off enough to go score. And Petrovic had an UBI coming into the game, his first one back - he went to the locker room after the tussle and hasn't come back.

Florida was really just looking for a break tonight. Montreal is determined not to give it to them. After the embarrassing loss a week or two ago, I don't blame them.

Florida's gonna have to put the gas on enough to win this one. Every game from here out is a must-win.

His first goal in his first NHL game? Well that's a hell of a thing.

Tallinn said that he thinks Borgstrom is NHL-ready, and that if the Panthers are a playoff team, it's very possible we see him.

Panthers have Heponiemi, Borgstrom, Tippett, and now Bajkov as F prospects. Interestingly, I play a franchise team with Florida on my 2015 NHL video game. I drafted Bajkov. It's all coming together, now...

 

Borgstrom has been my favorite NHL prospect for a couple years now. He’s the real deal.

 

If he's not a Panther by the end of this season, he'll be on the starting roster next season. Tallon wasn't shy about saying that everyone was calling about him, they weren't parting with him, and that they want him up with the big boys ASAP.

What the Panthers need, desperately, is a real-deal defensive or goalie prospect. I'm anticipating one of the guys I named above moved for one.

Well, I spend all night feeling dirty rooting for the damn Bruins, and they lose. The feeling is clearly mutual, Boston.

Donato with a hell of a night. That's scary, to every other team in the league.

Angels and Annti are the only reasons Florida doesn't have several more in this game. I'm convinced they're filming a new Danny Glover movie with a new sport.
