PARENTS giving out money for Christmas? Anyone getting money for Christmas? I am following the wrong Christmas then. I went above and beyond this year and I am feeling it in the wallet. Just passed out 3 bottles of nice wine to the 3 attorneys in my Dept at work. More wasted spending. Ugh. I just gotta stop being so generous as half these people won't even get me a gift. that's on top of the 40 Christmas cards I wrote out on Saturday!

LAJOE-Gift idea - to me their age is part of the problem, but a nice pair of Ray-Bans go for $70. Or if they're into cars, a car emergency road kit for $30-35 is a solid gift. Since you said they're gamers - new controllers are a great gift and expensive. they need a controller more than anything if they play games a lot. I used to go through PS3 controllers every 3 months due to overplaying and throwing! haha.

 

I'll never forget this one doctors office, full of wine and liquor bottles he recieved as gifts. They were there for years, all cluttered, and he never opened one of them.

 

Americans will buy these, then flip them for a profit on ebay.

I wish it wasn't so close to Christmas, because I would buy it, get it and mail it to you and you just send me the money for it. I can't guarantee it will get there by Christmas.

 

I think they finally made the item shippable to Canada it after putting a nice stinkin' hefty duty on it. I'm getting it and convinced my parents to chip in instead of getting him clothes/cash. This is definitely a Christmas+Bday gift if it was for me (as my birthday is Jan 4th) so he's getting it from multiple pitch ins.

I'm listening to a radio talk show, the host was mentioning that his parents immigrated from belfast in 1958. His mother couldn't get a job in a bank because she was catholic, times sure have changed.
