im just happy the season starts in 5 weeks ! the flyers won't be very good, but i miss hockey and i got tix on the goalline to see mcdavid in philly oct 21.

Back to Atlanta? Seattle? Seattle just worked out a deal with private investors to build an $660M arena at the old Key Arena site.

 

i know HBOB will disagree, but i always liked Seattle for a new franchise. Atlanta is 0-2. Lets not make it a strikeout or hat trick 0-3!

 

This is some serious stuff. Bettman must act ASAP and get a fix for this Calgary situation. The Flames must stay in Calgary. This is no good. What is so bad about the dump they play in now? Hasn't anyone been to New Jersey?

 

Good point about NJ, but The Rock is probably the nicest thing about the whole damned state. Seats at the Rock, even the not-so-good ones are better than 70% of MSG. Now, that is the dump that needs to be put out of its misery.

 

NJ-Newark area and town is a dump. arena is only 10 yrs old. the saddledome was built in 1983. very outdated. probably very little luxury suites. how many other venues use the arena besides the flames? i know that's how the Flyers and the Wells Fargo Center makes their money. They use the WF Center for everything... Concerts, wrestling, tennis, the circus, ice skating, disney on ice, monster trucks, motorcycle racing, bmx racing, summer x games, etc.

 

I'm watching the Flyers and Islanders Rookie Game in Philly... the place is packed.

 

No wonder its packed... tickets were free... my second favorite 'f' word.

 

The best part about the devils in newark is the proximity to the airport. You could literally get off the plane and walk in for gametime.

Should be interesting. With Hossa out, Saad is far more important to Chicago than Panarin, but I think many Hawks fans are fooling themselves thinking that Panarin wasn't the most valuable piece of that deal. He only had 2 years on the small ice, lots of time for him to improve in tight games. I thought it was a very good trade for both teams given the circumstances, Saad wasn't a good fit with Torts for some reason.

 

Not right before the spawn, they're very active and the forage may be suspended.

 

I like what Hexy has done overall, but THIS is the year to judge. He has a number of redundant prospects and good pieces that he let value decline on. PHI could end up like the Peg or STL (very good for 6 straight years).

I think Holland is just polishing his retirement plans at this point. Tread some water, acquire some assets, set the table for the next guy and work on that handicap in mid April.

 

that isn' going to cut it. the fanbase has been patient with him cleaning up homer's mess. he asked for patience while the youth developed. he may have as many as 7 of them playing this season. this year is his last year of "getting a pass." it's contend or pitchforks next year. come 2019 - it better be Final 4 or Hextall will have the fans burning the WFC to the ground! They're tired of waiting and promises. they want action!

There's still time to trade Simmons bf he's truly worthless. Hextall hasn't pulled a major trade gun in a few years. It's time to get his trigger finger all primed up!

And somehow he keeps drafting goalies and defenseman when the farm has an abundance of both ! Like you said HBOB- he has a number of them. Don't know which ones declined since none played at the NHL level, but they need so much offensive help - how about trading some to acquire the winger or 2 to move up in the standings this year ?

 

Simmonds? He's the Flyers 4th best scorer and does it all including the dirty work. Why would you want a top 5 player on your club to be gone?
