I have good news and bad news. Since all of you get your NHL coverage from ESPN you'll be sad to know that Pierre LeBrun and Scott Burnside got laid off yesterday. Don't panic though because Barry Melrose is still there so the standard of the coverage will still be the same.

I almost lost a kid 2 years ago, or I should say he lost me. His grandparents took him to the zoo dozens of times, so the only thing he wanted to see was if all the utility doors had a working lock or not. He found one without a lock but another parent tipped me off thankfully. I lost my shit (Screaming the kids name when he ran off on me in a crowd) when he played "hide on the chaperone" under a drinking fountain.

lol, I hear ya. those little bastards just wanted to run and didn't really care that I was taking my responsibility very serious. It didn't help that they were all wearing the same yellow shirts in a crowded park. Needless to say I was very happy when I gave those kids back to their teachers at the bus.

Don't like sounding like a know it all self promoter or a 1 upper but I knew Mike Mantenuto. He grew up in Holliston and me in Framingham, about 15 minutes apart. He was the only player younger than me on our newspapers 1st team all star team. He was in 8th grade and had something like 50 points. He was really good.

So sad for so many reasons, none more sad than Mike having a kid.
