  1. Got Prust?

    Seguin for Prust straight up

  3. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

    or Ian White.

Peverly is a "for sure" from Dreger.

    Here's McKenzie's take:

Wow is Chiarelli going to have to answer a few questions.
I wonder how many Boston fans have a clue about Eriksson.

    =
    threepeat champs.

If Chicago traded Dave Bolland for Eriksson, Bowman would be strung up near Wrigley Field or the UC in short order. Can't imagine this goes over too well for Bruins fans.

Peverly contract is a luxury at that price, good to get that off of the books.

not enough. won't stop them from having an opinion though.
can already see it- 'lazy, soft, Euro w/ too many S's in his last name.'

    what?????

  9. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

I really like this trade for the Bruins. I think this will keep their depth much stronger than it would have been and Eriksson isn't a step back, might be better than Seguin for the rest of his contract.

Dallas must be trying to drain the swamp.

5 million cap space gain for Chiarelli and he has awesome value on Ericsson's deal. This makes them flexible.

thats the key and Eriksson is a very good solid player. Still don't really like it though. We'll see what Seguin becomes, Im afraid it will be something special and this day will go down in infamy.

  11. How is this 5 million dollars in cap space? I read a 1 for 1 deal might happen. Boston saves 1.5 million for the next 3 years.

Just my opinion but I hate this trade for Boston. Pro rate Seguin's numbers over the last 2 seasons and he's a 28 goal 62 point guy. And he's nowhere near his prime at 21 years old. Weird trade if it happens.

Spending 6.5 + 5.25 + 5.75 at the center position doesn't seem very cost effective. That's too much money tied up at center. Nobody is going to score more than 3.2 g/g and without the points, can't justify the cap hits. A center had to go, and after Krecji's postseasons, I think he's the guy to count on over Seguin for at least a couple more years.

I like Boston winning this trade in a huge way for the next 2 or 3 years. Everybody is cost controlled and there isn't the redundant spending at a position. Ericsson takes some of the overpayment away from St. Big Fat too.

  13. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

    it happened.

Bruins better immediately but gave up so much going forward.

  14. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

Eriksson vs. Seguin + Peverly's cap hits. Boston has a little less than 5 million to play with now.

  15. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

thats if you count Seguin as a center and not RW. He's been playing RW more or less since he got here. Think he's a natural center though and will blossom in the middle especially when he gets stronger on the puck.

  16. Not to mention the fact Boston doesn't play a wide open system ... much more defensive and I'm not sure Ericsson's numbers would be as good in Boston as they were in Dallas.

  17. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

not factoring in Tuukka and Savard money right? Seems like Tuukka is getting $7per and Savard is in a dark room somewhere.

  18. this cries out for a hybrid chiarelli/FDR youtube clip :)

  19. mattymcgee55 Legend Patriots Bruins

    lol

  20. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

I was using the numbers for 2015, assuming Bergeron gets his 8 x 6.5 ish. I'm assuming he'll make the switch by then. It's a problem to pay him that much as a RW right now and if he does blossom as a center then he or Krecji have to be moved or else they just start to offset each other (in terms of cost effectiveness).
